Know all men by these presents that we David Heflin and Martha Heflin for and in consideration of one hundred and fifty ($150) dollars to us paid in hand by J.C. Phillips and Henry Evans the receipt which is hereby acknowledged have this day bargained, granted and sold unto the said J.C. Phillips and Henry Evans, their heirs and assigns the following described land said land being situated in Iredell, Bosque County, Texas it being the north half of what is known as the Russell plat which contained two acres the same being out of the James A. McCullough survey and further described as being a part of the compromise made by the District Court of Bosque County according to the McCullough survey and plat together with all and singular the tenements, hereditaments and appurtenances hereunto belonging and in any wise appertaining to have and to hold all and singular the above described premises unto the said party J.C. Phillips and Henry Evans their heirs and assigns forever in witness whereof we have set our hands this February 4th 1879.

Before me A.H. Justice a Justice of Peace and exofficio Notary Public in and for said county personally comes David Heflin to me well known to me acknowledged that he executed the foregoing instrument of writing dated 4th day of February A.D. 1879 and that he signed, sealed and delivered the same for the purposes, uses and consideration therein stated. Also comes Martha M. Heflin wife of the said David Heflin to the foregoing deed an instrument of writing dated the day and year above written who having been examined by me privily and apart from the said husband and the said instrument having been fully explained to her acknowledged the same to be her own act and deed and that she willingly signed sealed and delivered the same for the purposes, uses and consideration therein stated and that she wishes not to -?-.

In testimony whereof I hereunto sign my name and affix my notorial seal this the 4th day of February A.D. 1879.

This parcel of land is David Heflin’s one-third part of the parcel mentioned on page 105 of Volume R. This deed makes J.C. Phillips and Henry Evans each one-half owners of this parcel. See the following deed.

State of Texas County of Bosque

Know all men by these presents that I Henry Evans of the state and county aforesaid in consideration of $500 five hundred dollars to me in hand paid by Adeline Wylie of the County of Hamilton and State of Texas have granted, bargained, sold and conveyed and do by these presents bargain, sell and convey and release unto the said Adeline Wylie a one half interest of the north half of Block No. 2 situated in Iredell, Bosque County, Texas and is further described as being Block No. 2 as on the plat made by W. M. McCauley and known as a part of the compromise made with the administrator of W. Y. McFarland Estate it being of the James McCullough survey the same being a decree of the District Court of Bosque County, State of Texas and as shown by the record of said court together with all and singular rights, members, hereditaments and appurtenances to the same belonging or in any wise incident or appertaining to have and to hold all and singular the premises above mentioned unto the said Adeline Wylie her heirs and assigns forever and I do hereby bind myself, my heirs, executors and administrators to warrant and forever defend all and singular the said premises unto the said Adeline Wylie, her heirs and assigns against every person whomsoever lawfully claiming the same or any part thereof. Witness my hand and seal using -?- for seal this 15th day February A.D. 1879
