Know all men by these presents that we David Heflin and wife M.M. Heflin of said state and county for and in consideration of the sum of one hundred and fifty ($150) dollars to us in hand paid by R.J. Heflin the receipt of which is hereby acknowledged have granted sold and conveyed any be these presents do grant , sell and convey to said R.J. Heflin of the said state and county the following described tract or parcel of land to wit:  a part of the David Frost survey on Spring Creek About 8 miles w4est of the town of Meridian in said Bosque County.  Beginning at the N.W. corner of J.W. Gatewood tract of said Frost survey a stake from which a live oak marked R bears N 13 E 88 varas another marked T bears E15 varas.  Thence N 30 W 181 1/3 varas to stake, thence N60 E 1550 Varas to stake and pike of rocks in east boundary line of said Frost survey.  Thence S 30 E 13 varas to said Gatewood N.E. corner from which a live oak marked G bears S 58 W 130 varas.  Thence S 60 W 1550 varas to the place of beginning containing by estimation 50 acres.  To have and to hold the above described premises together with all and singular the rights and appurtenances thereto in anywise belonging unto the said F.J. Heflin his heirs [and] assigns forever and we do hereby bind ourselves, our heirs, executors and administrators to warrant and forever defend all and singular the said premises unto the said R.J. Heflin, his heirs and assigns against every person whomsoever lawfully claiming or to claim the same or any part thereof.

Heflin, wife of David Heflin, known to be to be the person whose name is subscribed to the foregoing instrument of writing and having been examined by me privily and apart from her husband and having the same fully explained to her she the said Mrs. M.M. Heflin acknowledged such instrument to be her act and deed and declared that she had willingly signed the same for the purposes and consideration therein expressed and wished not to retract it.
