1. Samuel DOYEL ¹ was born about 1720. He died ² in 1799 in Barren Co, KY.

Samuel Doyel lived in Rowan County, North Carolina near Big Creek in what is now Davie County. His land claim was part of the "unclaimed land" that young Lord Granville inherited and which was broken up after the Revolution. Squire Boone, father of Daniel Boone, had a land claim just north of Samuel's land. During the war, Cornwallis marched across Davies County very near to where the Doyel family lived.
