Hazel McNicholl, also my cousin once removed (Andrew's sister). Hazel managed to fill in a lot of blanks and gave me many useful leads to follow up. Hazel lives in New Zealand.
Katharine Clarke and Eleanor Clare, my cousins. At my request, they delved into their own archives of photographs and ephemera that their parents had left behind. I know what a strange mixture of excitement and sorrow runs through anyone who looks long and hard at their late parents' history, and I thank them for having the courage to do it.
Margaret Derry, another cousin once removed. Margaret filled in many blanks, and also came up with many new photographs of the family at the turn of the last century.
Kathleen Gurr, my cousin twice removed. Kathleen is the oldest surviving member of the family that I've yet encountered, and her recollections uncovered many more distant parts of the family tree.
Nick Gurr and Dan Dubarry-Gurr, second cousins once removed.
Dennis Gurr, second cousin once removed.
Jo Cooper, second cousin once removed.
Jo Morris, Kent/Sussex lookups. Jo was kind enough to look up occurences of the GURR and BLOWN families in the 1839 Pigot's commercial directory for Sussex and Kent. Jo lives in Australia.
Jeanne Brinton. Jeanne replied to some of my queries on the Kent Family History Society mailing list with details from the 1870 Post Office Directory of Kent for George and William GURR in Lamberhurst. I've no idea where Jeanne is located!
Thomas H. Moon. Thomas is affiliated to the Lamberhurst Local History Society and has given me much background on the Gurrs in Lamberhurst, in addition to two photographs of the Gurrs that I would otherwise never have found.
Stuart Moverley, Kent/Sussex lookups. Stuart has access to indexes of the Chatham Parsh Registers for births and discovered some entries which take the GURRs further back, now into the late 1700s.
