He received a disability discharge (hemorrhoids) on November 15, 1862 at Jackson, TN) These records also indicate he mustered in at Peoria, IL on December 20, 1861.

Albert was born in Ticonderoga, Essex Co. NY. He had blue eyes, brown hair, and a light complexion. He was 6 ft. tall. (source: National Archives' Civil War records - Company Descriptive Book.) These records also indicate he enlisted at Ticonderoga, Essex Co., NY on November 18, 1861. He mustered-in at Plattsburgh, NY on November 28, 1861. He was promoted to Sergeant in Company G on November 18, 1861. He was "taken away" by the surgeon August 5, 1862 and August 15, 1862. He was reduced in rank and transferred to Company C on August 31, 1862.
Albert died of disease (unspecified) at the hospital in Suffolk, VA on December 1, 1862. He was buried in the Union Cemetery (Suffolk, VA) with military honors and in uniform.

The family bible records his death as January 16, 1863, while the War Department records that he died of Typhoid Fever at the Regimental Hospital in Fairfax, VA on January 15, 1863.
