James B. DeLarm

HAGUE - James B. DeLarm of Hague, New York, and Zephyrhills, Florida passed away at his Florida home on Dec 3. He was born on Dec. 7, 1931 in Ticonderoga, New York to the late Rollin and Ethel (Fitzgerald) DeLarm. He is predeceased by his only brother William K. DeLarm.

James married his childhood sweetheart, Patricia Ann Waite, on Oct. 4, 1953. They enjoyed 57 years together before Patricia passed away on Feb. 5, 2011. Together they were active lifelong members of the Church of The Blessed Sacrament in Hague, where they both served as eucharistic ministers. He is survived by his four children; Martha (Mike Huskie), Bruce (JoAnn), Michael (Pat) and Robert. He has two grand children and three step-grandchildren.

James retired after 30 plus years of service from International Paper Company in Ticonderoga. He especially liked working with his hands and was a gifted wood-worker and craftsman. He invented and built a wood burning furnace, the 'Fire Eagle', for which he successfully obtained a patent. He took great pride in his collection of Stanley tools and planes as well as his ever expanding workshop.

The family will hold a Celebration of Life on Dec. 8, in Zephyrhills to honor James, and to celebrate his 85th birthday which would have been on Dec, 7, 2016. In the spring the family will hold a graveside service in Hague, New York.
