Attwell Family of North Cadbury

The Attwell family is not one of my direct lines, however my 4xgreat grandmother, Priscilla Allen married John Attwell as her second husband and they had a family of four children. Much of the research relating to their descendants has been ascertained from the online Family Search - Ancestral File records, and was submitted by Elaine Newbold of Oxford in England. Unfortunately, although I wrote to Ms. Newbold some time ago, to date, I have not had a reply.
First Generation
1. John ATTWELL

Priscilla ALLEN, 27 Jun 1819 in Shepton Beauchamp, Somerset, ENGLAND 5. Born Circa 1785 in Shepton Beauchamp, Somerset, ENGLAND 17. Died After 1851. Occupation Glover 17.As there are no baptisms recorded in the Parish Registers for Shepton Beauchamp between 1778-1784 on LDS Reel 1526729 it has not been possible to positively identify Priscilla's parents.
It is possible that Priscilla is the daughter of Robert ALLEN and Sarah VILE who were married at Shepton Beauchamp on 23 Dec 1780. Robert and Sarah had at least 5 other known children. If this is infact Priscilla's line of descent, the family can be traced back to the late 1600's at Shepton Beauchamp.
Priscilla married her second husband, John Attwell, two years after the death of her first husband, Jonah Garrett. They had four children, although the second child, John died in infancy.
John and Priscilla appear on the 1841 Census at Shepton Beauchamp, Somerset, England (LDS Reel 0474602). He is described as a 47 year old labourer, she a 56 year old Glover. Two of their children, Ann aged 13, a Glover and John aged 15 were also residing with them at the time. All were born in the county.
16By the time of the 1851 Census John and Priscilla were still residing at Shepton Beauchamp, Somerset, England (LDS Reel 0221084). At this time John was described as a 59-year-old agricultural labourer born in North Cadbury. Priscilla, aged 66 years was described as a Glover. Their daughter Ann Bryant, aged 27 was now a widow was residing with them with her 2-year-old daughter Henrietta. An Alfred HUTCHINGS, a visitor, aged 24 years, a Handloom Weaver, born Shepton Beauchamp was also in the home that evening.
17To date, a burial for Priscilla has not been located, however the Parish Register's have only been checked up to 1871.
A search of the National Index of the 1881 Census was unsuccessful, so it would seem that Priscilla died some time prior to this.

At the time of the 1851 Census, Ann was described as a widow. She and her daughter, Henrietta were living with her parents 17.

John married Thurza DABINETT, daughter of George DABINETT & Sarah, 12 Mar 1850 in Shepton Beauchamp, SOM, ENGLAND 7. Born Circa 1826 in Shepton Beauchamp, SOM, ENGLAND 17. Occupation Glover 17.

At the time of the 1851 Census, John and his wife Sarah had two children, Elizabeth aged 3 yrs and Priscilla aged 10 months, although the couple only married in 1850. Thurza's parents, George and Sarah were residing nearby 17.
