OUR FAMILY~HISTORY IN THE MAKING

We have a rich family heritage and enjoy sharing it with others. Hopefully the pages on this site will be informative, enlightening and most of all fun. Genealogy for genealogy's sake can be very dry. It's the stories, timelines, census records and other facts put together to make a whole picture of your family's past that bring it to life. Knowing that your great-great grandfather fought in the Civil War (or the "War of the Rebellion" if you are from the south), along with seeing photos of the battles, reading stories of the heroism and losses cause the past to become more real and not just historical facts.
We have collected over the past 15 years hundreds of pages of information about our large family backgrounds. Our family is rooted in those brave early settlers who dared to come to a place unknown bringing their wives and children, not knowing if any would survive, yet willing to take the chance for a new life. It would be wonderful to truly know what drove them to come here, poverty-adventure-servitude...we may never know. The chance to get a peek into their lives can enrich ours. We are not our ancestors, yet who we are today is definitely influenced by their actions. Their accomplishments or lack there of are not ours, yet our place of birth, our familial heritage, our likes and dislikes for food and lifestyle are founded in their own lives lived out throughout the descending generations.
Most of our family started in the British Isles. We do have some from the Netherlands also. For the most part we will concentrate on the United States history as that contains the most research successes for us. Our family on our parents sides were split between entering the country in Massachusetts or Virginia in the mid-to-late 1600's and then in the late 1700's. We plan to include census records, wills, photos, gedcom lists, migration patterns and other info as available. Since we do have so many pages of documentation, it will be an on-going project.
