Kelly - Shannon Grave at Tocumwal Cemetery.

Thomas KELLY, son of William KELLY (1837-1927) and Ellen HANRAHAN (1845-1923), was born on 26 October 1875 in Creswick, Victoria.1,2 He married Margaret SHANNON on 12 June 1905 when she was 24 at St Columbus Catholic Church in Berrigan, NSW.3 He married Elizabeth SHANNON in 1907 when he was 32 and she was 21 at St Marys Catholic Cathedral in Sydney, NSW.4 He appeared on the electoral roll between 1943 and 1954 in Tocumwal, NSW at the Farmers Arm Hotel as a hotelkeeper.5 He died aged 83 of broncho pneumonia on 16 October 1959 at Farmers Arm Hotel in Tocumwal.6,7 He was buried on 18 October 1959 in Tocumwal Cemetery, NSW.8,9

KELLY, Berrigan, begs to tender, his most sincere thanks to Doctor and Matron of the Jerilderie Hospital for the skilful, constant and assiduous attention bestowed on Mrs. Kelly during her time in that institution; also to the numerous friends and well-wishers who attended his beloved wife's funeral sent floral tributes, telegrams, letters and cards of sympathy, and requests all to extend consideration - till time allows a more formal acknowledgement.10

 

Elizabeth SHANNON was the daughter of William SHANNON (1844-1923) and Mary KENNEALY-SHAW (1846-1903). She and Thomas KELLY had the following children:
