IRISH ASSISTED BY THE HARNEY FAMILY

jbar.gif (4006 bytes)

The Harney family was part of a "network" assisting the Irish during the Great Potato Famine in the mid-1840s.   In addition to sending food and clothing to Ireland, they helped transport Irish, wishing to emigrate, out of the country.  American families saved what money they could, and sent for relations back in the 'Old Country' to bring them to America.

One can only guess what this list represents.

This may be a list of people in the network of those helping the Irish escape to America. Many were illegal immigrants, and this may be the only documentation available.

Starting with page 1, above:
Did the fellow named Boyle take Adams, Bracket, and Brown to Mr. Collins?
Then Mr. Collins take Canny, McNulty and Raniken (or Ranihan) and meet up again with Mr. Brackett?
Did Bracket then pass them off to Murphy, who took Felony and Dunphy, etc.??
