AMRHEIN, Edmund E., 29, of Hollywood, Calif. and formerly
of 615 Old Fairmont Pike, Wheeling, died in California March 11. He was born March 26, 1941, in Wheeling, the
son of Edmund L. and Mary E. Eckhardt Amrhein.
He was a graduate of Wheeling High School and attended the University of
Illinois. He was a veteran of the U. S.
Army. In addition to his parents he is
survived by two sisters, Barbara, at home, and Mrs. Flynn* Blazina, Bogata, N.J.;
and his maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Elwood Eckhardt, Wheeling. Friends will be received at the Altmeyer
Funeral Home, 1400 Eoff St., Monday and Tuesday, 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral Arrangements are incomplete.**

Richard F. Bates
, 45, of Hollywood, Florida, former Woodsfield resident, died Monday, December
28, 1970, in Hollywood.
He was born May 11, 1925 , in Woodsfield, a son of George D. Bates, of
Woodsfield, and the late Rosella Crock Bates.
Surviving in
addition to his father are his stepmother, Mrs. Flavil Gatten Bates;
three daughters, Mrs. Ed Steele, of Seville; Mrs. Gary Gray, of
Bridgeport, and Mrs. Ronald Yost, of Sistersville, W.Va.; four
grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs. Esther Park of Toledo, and Mrs. Jane
Russell, of Wheeling, W.Va., Mrs. Martha Highman, of Ashland; three
brothers, Robert Bates, of Ashland; William Bates, of Polk, and George
Bates, of Woodsfield, Route 3, and several nieces and nephews.
Services were
held on Thursday afternoon, December 31st, at two o'clock in The Bauer and
Turner Funeral Chapel with Minister J. V. A. Traylor officiating. Burial
was in Oaklawn Cemetery, Woodsfield, Ohio.

Lucille Bean,
Ex-Gray Lady
Mrs. Lucille C. Bean, 50, of 1326 Lisa Ann dr., died
Wednesday in City Hospital after a short illness.
Born in Louisville, [sic–Lewisville] O.,* she lived
in Akron 40 years.
She was a former Gray Lady in Sumner Home, a member of
First United Methodist Church, and a member of the Acolyte Mothers of the
church.
She leaves her husband, Ernest; three sons, Rev. E.
Randall, Westwood, N.J., Gregory and Eric, both of Akron; her mother, Mrs.
Bessie Outten, and her stepfather, G. E. Outten, both of Akron; her father,
Alfred C. Weber, Columbus; brother Harry C. Weber, Cuyahoga Falls; two sisters,
Mrs. Florence Underwood and Mrs. Ruth Holcomb, both of Denver, Col., and two
grandchildren.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in First United
Methoidst [sic--Methodist] Church.
Burial will be in Rose Hill cemetery.
The Billow Fairlawn chapel is in charge of
arrangements. There are no calling
hours. Memorials may be made to Lucille
C. Bean Memorial Fund of the church.

Mrs, George Behringer, age 80, died Tuesday, March 3, 1970
at the Suncrest Hospital in Lapeer after an illness of 13 years. Her home was at
633 Elmwood Rd., Fostoria. Hattie Mae Myer* was born August 13, 1889 in
Marlette, the daughter of Oscar and Ella Brown Myer.* She married George
Behringer in Marlette on August 5, 1917. A Lapeer County resident for the past
52 years, Mrs. Behringer was a member of the West Deerfield Methodist Church
and Fostoria Rebekah Lodge.
Funeral services were held 2 p. m. Thursday, March 5 from
the Blackmore & Tubbs Chapel. The Reverend Donald Lichtenfelt officiated
and burial was in Watertown Cemetery.
Surviving Mrs.
Hattie Mae Behringer besides husband, George, are 2 daughters, Mrs. Edwina
Turner of Grand Blanc and Mrs. Laurel Main of Otter Lake; 1 son, Roy of
Westland, Detroit; 16 grandchildren and 31 great-grandchildren.

Auto Spark Possible Cause Of Fire
Fatal To Four At Plant In Hudson
.
Hudson, Ohio—Firemen say explosions that killed four persons
Thursday at a propane gas plant could have been touched off by a spark from the
automobile in which three of the victims were riding.
Mrs. Bonnie Blachly, 30, of Hudson, and her daughters, Audre,
3, and Paula, 2, were in the automobile passing the Fuelgas Corp. plant in
Hudson when the first explosions rocked the area.
Witnesses reported seeing mist which firemen said could have
been caused by gas leaking from a loading dock.
“ I saw a fog enveloping the whole area,” said Edward C.
Jestromb manager of a neighborhood furniture store. Jestromb said he saw the
Blachly’s Volkswagon “start into the fog. When the car got in, the whole fog
ignited.”
Robert Blachly, 31, who was in the car with his wife and
children, was burned seriously. William A. Jones, operator of a service a few
hundred yards away, said he found Blachly sitting on some batteries shortly after
the first explosion.
“He didn’t have any clothes on,” Jones said, “and he was bent
over, not saying anything.”
The fourth person killed was O. C. Williams, 46, service
manager of Fuelgas Corp.
Three Fuelgas buildings were destroyed by the 30 to 40
explosions, and Fire Chief Richard Myers estimated damage at $250,000.
Police said they believed propane gas leaked from a broken
line on a truck that had just been filled with gas.
Firemen said the initial blast could have been touched off by
a spark from Blachly’s car or by an overhead system in a garage near the
loading dock of from some other source.

Funeral services for Orville J. Booth, 55, of 161 Bolton
Ave., will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday in the chapel of Criss Brothers Funeral
Home with the Rev. Grover Garrett officiating.
Burial will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery.
Mr. Booth died in [sic--at?] 10:50 a.m. Wednesday in
Licking County Memorial Hospital. He was
born Oct. 9, 1914 in Bailey Mills, Ohio, son of Herbert Booth and the late
Ethel Brewster Booth.
Mr. Booth was a former employe of Owens-Corning Fiberglas
Corp. and was an Army veteran of World War II.
Surviving are his father, Herbert of Barnesville; four
sons: Larry, Mike, Rich and Alvy, all
of the home; three daughters: Mrs.
Donald M. Hess of Newark, Anita and Patricia, both of the home; one brother,
Carl Booth of Buckeye Lake; one sister, Mrs. Evelyn Bright of Buckeye Lake and
two grandchildren.
One brother is dead.
Friends may call the funeral home from 7 to 9 p.m. today
and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday.

Mr. Bowersock passed away Sunday evening at his residence
following a sudden illness. Age 70, he
was born October 18, 1900 in Archer's Fork, Ohio and has resided in Bay City
most of his life. He is survived by his
wife the former Mary E. Mendenhall; two sons, J. Ray of Kawkawlin and Stanley
A. of Bay City; seven grandchildren; three great grandchildren and several
nieces and nephews. Mr. Bowersock was a
member of the First Baptist Church and retired oil field worker of the Muskegon
Development Co. Funeral Services will
take place Wednesday at 2:00 p.m. at the Gephart Funeral Home. Officiating will be the Rev. Donald K. Olsen
with burial in Floral Gardens Cemetery.

Mrs. Jennie W. Britton, 76, of Vicksburg, died at 11:45
a.m. Sunday at the Mary Sherman Hospital at Sullivan.
Mrs. Britton was born at Robinson Jan. 17, 1894, the
daughter of Francis Marion and Ida Frances McKendrick Tetrick. She was a member of the Bethel Baptist
Church at Vicksburg. Her husband,
Charles Britton, to whom she was married Dec. 26, 1916, preceded her in death.
Survivors include three sons, Clarence E. Britton of Linton,
Ambrose K. Britton of Tampa, Fla., and Gail N. Britton of Dayton, Ohio; a
daughter, Mrs. Barbara M. Kehoe of Indianapolis; 14 grandchildren; three
great-grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Fannie Pope of Linton rte. three, and a
brother Nelse Tetrick of Linton, rte. three.
Funeral services will be held at the Anderson - Poindexter
Memory Chapel at Linton at 2 p.m. Wednesday with Rev. David Nichols officiating

Brady Oran Brown, 57, of 421 Harrison St., Newell, a night
watchman at the Homer Laughlin China Co., died Friday at 2:15 p.m. at City
Hospital after a two - day illness.
A native of St. Marys, W. Va., Mr. Brown was born April 14,
1912, a son of the late William Brown and Mary Ann Cronin Brown. He came to Newell about 40 years ago. He was a member of the IBOP.
He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Grace Brown, at home;
three sons, Harold Brown and Wayne Brown of Chester and Curtis Brown of East
Liverpool; two brothers, Frank Brown of Parkersburg, W. Va., and Arch Brown of
St. Marys; a sister, Mrs. Cameron (Jessie) Redcliff of St. Marys, and seven
grandchildren.
Services will be held Monday at 10:30 a.m. at the Chester
Chapel of the Arner Funeral Home by the Rev. Randall Price of the Chester First
United Methodist Church. Burial will be
in Springhill Cemetery, Wellsville.

2 p. m. Monday at the Seneca Valley Church of Christ (Calais) for James
Brownfield, 83, Calais, who died Friday evening, Feb. 27, [1970] at the home of
a daughter, Mrs. Edward (Georgianna) Starr, of Barnesville, where he had been
making his home for the past several months.
A retired farmer, he was born Jan. 21, 1887, in Monroe County near
Calais, a son of Stephen and Lena Wells Brownfield. Mr. Brownfield was a member of the Seneca Valley Church of
Christ.
His wife, Blanche G.
Brownfield, died Aug. 7, 1969. In
addition to the daughter at whose home he died, Mr. Brownfield is survived by
five other daughters, Mrs. Henry (Mabel) Starr of Quaker City, Mrs. Kenneth
(Stella) Mitchell of Bellaire, Mrs. Hobart (Bessie) Bunting and Mrs. Donald
(Mary Lou) Broomhall, both of Barnesville, Mrs. Leroy (June) Hanson of
Lewisville; three sons, Woodrow Brownfield of Bethesda, Oscar Brownfield of
Woodsfield R. D. and Herbert Brownfield of Alliance; 30 grandchildren and 38
great-grandchildren, a total of 77 descendants. Also surviving are a sister, Mrs. Elizabeth Miracle of
Zanesville; two brothers, Fred Brownfield of Thornville and Keyser Brownfield
of Newark.

Burkhart, 86, of Lewisville died at 4:10 p.m. Wednesday (Feb 25, 1970) at his
home following a long illness. He was born in Monroe County Nov 11, 1883, a son
of George and Mary Yontz Burkhart. He worked for many years as a fireman at
Ironton and moved to Lewisville after his retirement.
Surviving are his widow, Elma
Christman Burkhart, and several nieces and nephews. His first wife, Angela
Geswein Burkhart, died in 1957.

Once again the Grim Reaper of death has entered our midst and taken
from us our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, neighbor and friend.
Anna Claus Christman, daughter of Fred and Caroline Haffner
Claus, was born near Lewisville, Ohio
She was united in marriage with Fred G. Christman; three sons,
Raymond Christman, of Barnesville, Alva Christman, of Quaker City, and Irvin
Christman, of El Paso, Texas; two brothers, Edwin Claus, of Smithfield, Iowa,
and Gilbert Claus, of Lewisville; twelve grandchildren; eighteen great
grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
Besides her son, she was preceded in death by her parents,
four brothers and two sisters.
Mrs. Christman lived on a farm in Monroe County for sixty
years, then she and her husband went to Barnesville to live with their son,
Raymond. Mrs. Christman had been in poor health for two years. All that loving
hands could do was done but to no avail. God called her home where there is no
suffering, sorrow nor death.
She was confirmed in the Middle Chuch at the age of thirteen.
Mrs. Christman was a loving mother, grandmother, sister and
neighbor, willing to lend a helping hand when needed. She will be sadly missed
by all.
A precious one from us has gone

A place is vacant in our home
Which never can be filled.

Mrs. Florence Deetz Christman, 54, of Apple Creek died
Saturday afternoon in the Wayne county hospital near Wooster, where she had
been a patient one year.
She was born in Millersburg and had resided most of her
life in East Union township in Wayne county.
Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Kenneth (Lillian) Lint of
Loudonville; a son, Myron Christman of Apple Creek; her parents, Mr. and Mrs.
Albert Deetz* of Millersburg; and two grandchildren.
The funeral will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. in the Desvoignes
funeral home in Mount Eaton with the Rev. Albert Henry of Wooster
officiating. Interment will be made in
Apple Creek cemetery.

MRS. HAZEL L., age 65 of Central Ave., Bolivar, Ohio,
died Saturday evening at 9:30 in her home.
She died of a heart attack. Born
in Monroe County, she had lived in this vicinity for 32 years. She attended St. Paul's Lutheran Church in
Bolivar. She is survived by her
husband, Bernard J. Christman, Sr.; one son, Bernard John Christman Jr.; two
daughters, Mrs. Delores Dzigorski of Cuppertino, Calif., and Mrs. Betty L.
Morgan of Bolivar; six grandchildren; one brother, Marion Stephens of
Woodsfield, Ohio, and one sister, Rebecca Burkhart of Miltonsburg, Ohio. Services will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. in
Lebold Funeral Home with Pastor George Houlale officiating. Calling hours at the funeral home 2-4 and

GEORGE W. CLINE, 62
George W. Cline, 62, of Lewisville died Friday evening, May
22, at 8:30 p.m. at his home after several months illness.
He was born Dec. 8, 1907 at Jerico, Ohio, the son of the
late John and Myrtle Steward Cline. He
was the supervisor of case workers for the Aid for the Aged of Monroe County. He was a ruling elder of the Buchanan
Presbyterian Church, a member of the Masonic Lodge of Stafford, and a member of
the Lewisville Volunteer Fire Department.
He is survived by his wife, Vivian Young Cline, one son,
Myron of Burgoon, Ohio, and two grandchildren.
He also leaves two brothers, Miles D. Cline of Bloomingdale, Ohio, and
Frances Mearl Cline of New Matamoras; and one sister, Mrs. Lloyd (Opal) Weber
of Barberton, Ohio.
The body was removed from the Bauer & Turner Funeral
Home in Woodsfield at 1:00 p.m., Monday to the Buchanan Presbyterian Church
where funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. Monday. Burial was in the Oaklawn Cemetery in Woodsfield.

Trina Jo Cline, 6, of Marietta Rt. 4 died at 4:30 p.m.
yesterday in Marietta Memorial Hospital.
She was born Dec. 15, 1963, in Marietta, a daughter of
Stanley and Sister Arlene Weckbacker, who survive with a brother, Tony; a
sister, Nicola; grandmothers, Mrs. John Weckbacker* of Rinard Mills and Mrs.
Garnet Schneider of Whipple, and other relatives.
Trina Jo had attended kindergarten at Warren Elementary
School and attended the Church of Christ.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday in Harold Hadley
& Sons Funeral Home, with the Rev. Ronald Cress officiating and burial in
Tunnel Cemetery. Friends may call at
the fuenral home from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. tomorrow.

home Tuesday at 10:40 p.m. She was born
May* 16, 1891 in Brookside, a daughter of Theodore and Mary Ehnnni** Nalley and
was a charter member of Corpus Christi Church and its Christian Mothers
Society. For many years she had
operated a Warwood Grocery with her husband, Louis William, who died in 1941. Surviving are three sons: Ellwood,*** William and Louis, all of
Warwood; two sisters and a brother; Mrs. Hilda Eckhardt, Mrs. Mary Dueker,
James Nalley, all of Wheeling; eight grandchildren and 13
great-grandchildren. Friends may call

Mrs. Emma J. Cronkhite, 81, of Oakwood, died at 2:07 p.m. Thursday (Nov. 5,
1970) at Lake View Memorial where she had been a patient one day. She had been in ill health for 18 months.
Born in Sistersville, W. Va., June 16, 1889, she was the
daughter of Jasper and Anna Elliott Kinkade.
She was married 25 Mar 1911, in Danville to William C. Cronkhite, who
survives.
Mrs. Cronkhite had resided in Oakwood for 53 years. She was a member of the Oakwood Christian
Church, the Christian Women's Fellowship of the Church and Oakwood Chapter of
Order of Eastern Star. She taught
Sunday school at the Church for 20 years.
Her hobbies were flowers and sewing.
Also surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Thelma Curry of
Universal, Ind., Mrs. Waneta Steenbergen of Oakwood and Ms. Wilma Thomas of
Danville; nine grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren; a brother, Walter
Kinkade of Farmersburg, Ind.; and a sister, Mrs. Dora Draper of Alvin.
She was preceded in
death by three brothers and five sisters.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Oakwood
Christian Church, with the Rev.* Richard Davidson officiating. Burial will be
in Oakwood Cemetery, Friends will be received
from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the Johnson Funeral Home in Oakwood.

Richard A. Davis, 23, of 3200 W. Maryland St., died at 6:30
a.m. Thursday at his home of a brain tumor.
A member of Friendship Baptist Church, Davis left the
University of Evansville in his senior year last year because of illness. He had been suffering from the tumor since
last year.
Surviving is his wife, Geraldine; his parents, Mr. and Mrs.
Herschel Davis of Evansville; a sister, Miss Renee Davis, at home; a brother,
Carrol, of Owensboro, Ky.; grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Wright and Edward
Davis, all of Evansville and a nephew.

Old-time members of the
National Genealogical Society will remember a tall, bald man in a Navy
officer's uniform, whose smile and hearty handshake exuded warmth and
cordiality, and whose booming voice infected his hearers with the same
enthusiasm for genealogical research and for extending the spheres of the
influence of the society.
This was Ben F. Dixon, a
native of Kahoka, Missouri, and a long-time resident of San Diego,
California. It is with deep regret that we received word of his death at
his home, 6008 Arosa Street, San Diego, on Saturday, 27 June 1970, at the age
of 78.
In his adopted city he was
Curator of the Junipero Serra Museum in Presido Park, 1949-1955, and for 11 years
taught history at Adult Evening School. He started the Walking Tours of
the Old Town. He was a member of the Squibob Chapter of E Clampas Vitus,
an organization founded in the Gold Rush Days by men who like to mix history
and fun. In 1968 on a visit to Washington (D C), he addressed the Society
on the historical and genealogical work being accomplished in San Diego.
His publications included
"Contributions of Haiti to the Independence of the United States,
1776-1826" (1950), which won an award from the Haitian Government;
"Diario, The Journal of Padre Serra " (editor; 2nd edition,
1967), and with Mrs Dixon, "Five Generations of American Dwelles"
(1960).
The Society extends its
deepest sympathy to his widow, the former Alice L. Dwelle; his sons Dale and
John and his daughter Mary Alice Six grand children also
survive. Burial was in Greenwood Mausoleum. Milton Rubincam.

22 Years in Police
Dept.
Kenneth E. Dougherty, 48, veteran member of the Parkersburg
Police Dept., died last night at about 10 o'clock in the coronary care unit of
St. Joseph's Hospital.
He had been a patient there since Nov. 14.
Officer Dougherty was a veteran of more than 22 years of
service with the Police Department. He
had been on temporary disability for the past month.
He served in the Armed Forces in the Second World War.
His brother, Sgt. Francis Dougherty, is head of the
Detective Bureau of the Police Department.
A brother-in-law, Sgt. C. L. Plum, also is a member of the police force.
Officer Dougherty's father, the late Lt. Harry Dougherty,
served many years with the Police Department prior to retirement.
The body was to be received by Franklin and Son Memorial
Chapel Funeral Home.

Kenneth Eugene Dougherty was born in Parkersburg, West
Virginia on 11 January 1922. Kenneth,
called Ken, attended grade school at Jefferson School and continued his
education at Parkersburg High School.
Ken entered the US Navy during WWII and was assigned to the USS Cosco, a
seaplane tender. His duty took him to
the South Pacific Theater to fight the war.
After the war, Ken went to work for the Parkersburg Police, following in
his father's footsteps. Ken chose a
Parkersburg native, Ruth Berry, for his wife.
Ruth was born on 16 August 1922.
Ruth died on 27 April 1968 and is buried in the IOOF Cemetery,
Parkersburg, West Virginia. Ken and
Ruth were members of the Church of Christ and were well liked by all those they
came in contact with. Ken met and
married Sue Weekley, of Parkersburg.
Ken died of a heart attack on 24 November 1970 and is buried in the
Evergreen North Cemetery, Parkersburg, West Virginia.

and 22-year veteran of the Parkersburg Police Dept., died Thursday evening in

He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Police, served in
the U.S. Navy in the Pacific during WWII and was a member of the Waverly Church
of Christ.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at the
Franklin and Son Memorial Chapel with Evangelists Cecil O. Dotson and C.D. Plum
officiating.
Burial will following in the Arlington Memorial Gardens.

lifetime. She was past grand templar of Ohio Ladies of the Golden Eagles, was a
member of the Daughter of America 287, Senior Citizens and the First United
Methodist Church.
Survivors include her husband, Harold T. Goodballet, at
home; two stepsons, Keith Goodballet of East Liverpool and John Goodballet of
Trenton, N.Y.; a stepdaughter, Mrs. Alvin (Ethelyn) Trainer of East Liverpool;
a sister, Mrs. Lois Hohman of East Liverpool; three grandchildren and six
great-grandchildren.

He married Clara C. Strickler, who died May 20, 1960. Four sons and one daughter survive: Earl Gutberlet, True Gutberlet and Clyde
Gutberlet, all of Rt. 5; Larry Gutberlet, with whom he made his home and Mrs.
Dale (Margaret) Cline, Devola. There
are seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Two brothers and one sister survive, Guy
Gutberlet of Rt. 5, Ray Gutberlet, Marietta, and Mrs. Lawrence (Daisy) Prunty
of Whipple Rt. A son, Dean, and two grandchildren
preceded him in death.
Mr. Gutberlet was a retired oil field worker and had also
been employed by the Ohio Dept. of Highways.
He was a member of the Non-digressive Church of God.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday in Doudna &
McClure Funeral Home. Burial will be in

[1970]. He had lived in the Louisville area for 58 years and worked in research
at H-P Products Co. of Louisville for ten years, retiring in 1960. He then
drove a school bus for the Louisville School System for 5 years.
He was a member of St. Louis
Catholic Church and of Louisville Knights of Columbus Council 2530. His wife,
Lillian Bishop Haren, had preceded him in death in 1964.
Survived by many nieces and
nephews, the Mass of the Resurrection was held Friday morning at the church and
K of C services held in Paquelet Funeral Home Thursday evening. Burial was made

Contracting Co.; member of Pleasant Hill Methodist Church; Carpenters

Douglas P. Kinkade, 78, of Torrance, Calif., formerly of
Lovington, died at 7 p.m. Thursday in Torrance.
He was born in West Virginia. He Married Esther Stroud in December of 1915.
He is survived by his widow, sons, Charles of Lovington and
Robert of Torrance; daughters, Mrs. Rondo Newberry of Lovington and Mrs. Virginia
Campenella* of Sunland, Calif.; nine grandchildren and four
great-grandchildren.
Services and burial were in California.

Mrs. E. Nora Kinkade, 78,
109 W. Harrison, Paulding, died at 9:30 p.m. August 6 in the Paulding
County Hospital where she was admitted a day and a half earlier.
Mrs. Kinkade was born September 13, 1891 in Van Wert
County, a daughter of Harry and Mary (Corothers) Handwerk. She was a member of the First Christian
Church, Corona Chapter OES and the Ladies Literary Society.
She is survived by her husband, O.O., and a niece. Two sisters and a brother preceded her in
death.
Services were held Saturday at 2 p.m. in the First
Christian Church, with the Rev. David Everton officiating. Burial was in Live Oak Cemetery. Eastern Star memorial was held at 8 p.m.

Roy H. Kinkade, 78, of 104 Washington St., Mabton, died
Wednesday, February 4, in Grandview.
He was born at Adrian, Mo.
In 1920 he moved to Washington State and in 1942 to Mabton. With his nephew, Harley Kinkade, he owned
and operated a Rainbow station. Until
recently, he lived with a niece, Mrs. Satterfield of Mabton.
He was a member of the Sunnyside Barracks #565 of Veterans of
World War I.
He is survived by a large number of nieces and nephews. Three brothers preceded him in death.
Funeral services for Mr. Kinkade will be held Saturday, Feb. 7th,
at 2:00 p.m. in Ball Memorial Chapel.
Rev. Arthur Schultz, pastor of The First Baptist Church, and Sunnyside
Barracks #565 of Veterans of World War I will officiate. Burial will be in the Sunnyside Cemetery
under the direction of Ball Memorial Chapel.

LINTON -- Wendell Eugene Ladson, 40, of 369 4th St., NW,
Linton, died Wednesday night at the Freeman-Greene County Hospital here.
A native of Linton, he was born Feb. 25, 1930, the son of
Eugene H. and Flora M. Ladson. He was a
retired gunnery sergeant in the U.S. Marines and a veteran of both the Korean
and Vietnam Wars. He was a member of
the Frank Courtney American Legion Post 22 at Linton and the Worthington
Veterans of Foreign Wars.
Survivors are the wife, the former Violet Mason; two sons,
Robert and Eugene, both of Jacksonville, N.C.; two stepdaughters, Rita and
Teresa Mason, both a home; a brother, Robert, of Linton; two sisters, Mrs. Vera
Yoder of Linton and Mrs. Sherry Alig of Canton, Ill.; the mother and
stepfather, Mr. and Mrs. Guy Hunter of Linton; a stepsister, Mrs. Kathern
Rollison of Bloomfield.
Funeral service will be Saturday at 10 a.m. at the
Anderson-Poindexter Memory Chapel in Linton, with the Rev. Dean Hartman
officiating. Burial will follow in
Fairview Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home after 7 p.m. today.

Mrs. Charles (Charlotte)
Lallathin, 1313 Maple Street, Anderson, Indiana, died Friday, July 17th at St.
John's Hospital in Anderson, where she had been a patient since June 24th. She was born in Barnesville, September 16,
1890, a daughter of Joseph and Hannah Higginbottom Huntsman.
Surviving are her husband,
Charles Michael Lallathin of the home; three daughters and two sons, Bernard R.
of Anderson, Indiana, Wallace B. of Massillon, Ohio, Michael of Canton, Mrs. Manel (Lena) Harris of Chesterfield,

Markleville, Indiana; 16 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren; four great
great grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs. John (Lydia) Copeland, Somerton, Mrs.

Baker Brothers Funeral Home in Anderson.
Funeral services were held Monday, July 20th at 10:30 A.M. and interment
was made in Memorial Park Cemetery in Anderson.

Mrs. Ella M. Lashley, 82 of

Lusk
Services will be
Tuesday at 2:00 p.m. at the Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church for Oren P.
"Jersey" Lusk, 70, 727 Second St., who died at 8:00 a.m. at Major
Hospital, where he had been a patient one week. He had been in failing health for years.
Burial will be in the church cemetery, with the Rev. Ron
Robinson officiating. Friends may call
at the Murphy Mortuary until noon Tuesday, and after 1:00 p.m. Tuesday at the
church.
Mr. Lusk had resided in Shelbyville 55 years and was an
employe of the Shelbyville Desk Co. until retiring four years ago. He was an Army veteran of World War I and a
member of the Mt. Pisgah Church.
Born in Johnson County Jan. 10, 1900, Mr. Lusk was the son
of John and Mary (McMahon) Lusk. He
first married Mary Bennett and she preceded in death in 1932. On Feb. 25, 1939, he married Opal Pope
Crisp, who survives.
Also
surviving are three step-children, Clarence Crisp and Raymond Crisp, Shelby
County, and Mrs. Ronald (Elsie) Roberts, Shelbyville; 11 step-grandchildren;
seven step-great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Mrs. Mable Copple,
Shelbyville, and Mrs. Marguerite Henley, Bremerton, Wash.

Mrs. Mary E. Marty, 93, 709 High St., Bridgeport, died
Tuesday morning in her home. She was
born in Hickory, Pa., Dec. 20, 1876, the daughter of John and Catherine Abel
Cummins. Her husband, F. Albert Marty,
preceded her in death in 1968.
She was a member of the West Bridgeport United Methodist
Church and the WSCS of the church.
Surviving are three nieces, Miss Florence Kugler of
Bridgeport, Catherine Hastings, Oakdale, Pa., Anna Wilke, Canton, one nephew, Charles
Hastings in California.
Friends will be received at the Wilson Funeral Home,
Bridgeport, after 7 p.m. tonight.
Services at the funeral home will be held Friday at 2 p.m. with George
Wees officiating. Burial will be in
Linwood Cemetery, Blaine.
Matz, Esther Matz
Miss Esther Matz, 80, passed away Friday evening, July 3,
1970, at 8:00 o'clock in Wightman Manor, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, July 7, in The Episcopal
Church and interment was at Pittsburgh.
A native of the Lewisville community, Miss Matz had spent several
years in misson work in the West.
Surviving are two sisters; Mrs. Donovan, of Pittsburgh, and Mrs.
Frieda Brubach, of Summerfield; one brother Clarence Matz, of Wooster; also
nieces, nephews and cousins.

Is Killed In
Colorado
A 1968 graduate of Central High School was one of two young
women killed early Saturday when the car in which she and her husband were
riding went out of control and slammed into a tree near Colorado Springs, Colo.
Mrs. Terry (Janet Grant) McCandless was killed out-right in
the accident. The wife of the couple
with whom the McCandless' were riding died later Saturday in a hospital.
Terry McCandless, a sergeant in the U.S. Army stationed at
Colorado Springs, is in fair condition at a Colorado Springs hospital suffering
from head injuries and shock.
Mrs. McCandless is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Marlin
Grant of 616 Jackson Ave.
She was a member of Bible Center Church here.
Surviving beside her husband and parents are a brother,
Marlin Wayne, of Evansville; a sister, Mrs. Linda LaFary of Ft. Bragg, N.C.;
and her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. George Masterson of St. Louis, Mo. and Mrs.
Addie Grant of Evansville.
Funeral arrangements are not completed.

Funeral services for Francis Merkel, 62, Jesup, were held
at St. Athanasius church Monday, Oct. 5, at 10:30 a.m., with the Rev. Axen in
charge. Burial was in the church
cemetery.
Mr. Merkel died Thursday evening, Oct. 1, at St. Francis
hospital in Waterloo where he had been a patient since July when he was hit by
an Illinois Central train while working on the railroad. He had remained unconscious since the
accident.
The son of Frank and Margaret Smith Merkel, he was born
August 13, 1908, at Hume, Ill. On Nov.
10, 1932 he married Velda Voland at St. John's church in Independence. They had resided in Jesup since 1943. He was a member of St. Athanasius church.
Survivors include his wife, Velda; son, Robert, and
daughter, Mrs. Fredrich Meier, both of Jesup; 10 grandchildren, one brother,
Matthew, Guttenberg; two sisters, Mrs. Paul Ciesielski, Independence; Mrs. Fred
Loui, Moline, Ill. He was preceded in
death by his parents, one brother and one sister.
Pallbearers were Norbert Bahl, Walder Peterson, Donald
Buroo, William Scott, Robert Kane, Eugene Veach. Parker Funeral home of Jesup was in charge of arrangements.

DUGGER -- Mrs. Ada B. Miller, 87, died at 6:30 p.m. Monday
at her home on Linton, rte. one.
Mrs. Miller was born April 3, 1883 in Martinsvile, the
daughter of Henry and Ruth Kincaid Hoops.
Survivors include four daughters, Mrs. Georgia Wise of Lennox, Calif.,
Mrs. Bessie Scales of Hymera, and Mrs. Beatrice Kirkman and Mrs. Alma Myers of
Linton; two sons, Norman Miller of Linton and Charles Miller of LaPorte; 51 grandchildren,
106 great-grandchildren, and 37 great-great-grandchildren. Her husband Elijah, four children and 10
grandchildren preceded her in death.
Funeral services will be held at the Newkirk Funeral Home
at Dugger at 2 p.m. Thursday and burial will follow in the Olive Branch
Cemetery. Friends may call at the

Orville* [sic--Orval] (Jack) Miller, 56, 612 Chestnut Dr., was found
dead at his home here Tuesday afternoon.
Dr. John Pattison, the Grant County coroner, said Mr.
Miller died of a shotgun wound in the chest.
Mr. Miller was a native of Lyons, Ind., and had lived in
Gas City for 34 years. He was employed
as a pipefitter and belonged to the Gas City Masonic Lodge.
He is survived by the widow, Mary; two sons, Bob Miller,
Fontana, Calif., and Jack Miller, Marion; three daughters, Mrs. Larry (Nancy)
Clock, Hartford City; Mrs. Robert (Linda) McCormick , Gas City, and Mrs. Donald
(Connie) Lodge, Greentown; 15 grandchildren; one brother, Joseph Miller, Terre
Haute, and one sister, Mrs. Paul Miller, Stuart, Fla.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at the Jay,
Swift and Storey Funeral Home, 400 E. Main St.
The Rev. Martin Hess will officiate and burial will be in Jefferson
Cemetery, near Upland.
Friends may call at the funeral home after 7:30 p.m.
today. Masonic services will be conducted
at a time to be announced.

Mrs. Mae* Moody, 67, of Nova died in Samaritan Hospital at
11:20 a.m. Wednesday after an illness of eight months.
The daughter of Eliza and Maggie (Drake) Brown, she was
born in Monroe County Sept. 21, 1902 and had been a resident of Ashland County
for the past 60 years. She was married
Dec. 22, 1920 to Clifford Moody, who survives.
Other survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Gilbert (Marie)
Walker of Fostoria and Mrs. Ellsworth (Lela) Samples of Denning, N.M.; five
sons, Thurman Moody of RD 4, Ashland, Alvin of Wellington; Roy of Wellington,
Allen of Wellington and Wayne of Nova; 30 grandchildren; eight
great-grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Thelma Latimer of Ashland; six brothers, Thurman
of Ashland, Gilbert of Ashland, Lawrence of Greenwich, Wilbur of Nova, Homer of
Medina, Clinton of Miami, Fla.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother and
one sister. Mrs. Moody was an active
member of the United Brethren Church of Nova for many years and was a member of
the Social Workers Club.
Funeral service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at the
Gilbert Funeral Home with Rev. O. Lloyd Hutchinson officiating. Burial will be in Nova Cemetery.
Visiting hours will be any time after Friday noon at the
funeral home.

Virgil Morningstar
Mrs. Cora Vaughn Morningstar, 44, of Marietta Rt. 5 was
dead on arrival at Marietta Memorial Hospital yesterday afternoon.
She was born Jan. 20, 1926, in Monroe County, a daughter of
the late Andrew and Anna Blair Moore.
On June 12, 1946, she was married to Virgil Morningstar who survives
with two children, Dean and Debbie Morningstar of the home. Two sisters survive, Mrs. Dorothy Allen of Rinard
Mills and Mrs. Marie Dangil of Sardis.
Mrs. Morningstar was a graduate of Bloomfield High
School. She had been employed at
Duncan's Inn.
Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. Sunday in Doudna &
McClure Funeral Home. Burial will be in
Valley Cemetery. Friends may call at

Mrs. Beryl Morris, 82, of
Salesville Route 1, wife of Philip Thomas Morris, president of Quaker City
Savings and Loan company and former superintendent of school here, died
unexpectedly at 7:30 p.m. Saturday (March 14, 1970 ) at her home following an
apparent heart attack.
She was born July 26, 1887, on
Salesville, Route 1, Guernsey County, a daughter of T. J. and Emily
Heidelbach Williams.
Mrs. Morris was a member of
Salesville United Methodist Church.
Surviving in addition to her
husband are two nieces and a nephew. Three sisters and a brother are deceased.
Services will be held at 1:30 p.m.
Tuesday at Eberle Funeral Home with Rev. Alan Teter officiating. Burial will be
in Friends Cemetery at Quaker City.

for Mrs. Bessie V. Morris, 75, of 299 N. Market St., who died Sunday at 12:20

A native of Middleton Township, Mrs. Morris was born March
28, 1894, a daughter of the late Frank and Sarah Jane Durk Peers
[sic--Peters]. She had been employed
for years in the decorating shop of the former W. S. George Pottery Co. She was a member of the East Palestine First
Church of the Nazarene.
She is survived by nephews and nieces. Her husband, Henry Morris, preceded her in
death.

Mrs. Lela May Morris, age 69, of
South Paul Street, died early Sunday morning, September 27, 1970, at her home
after an extended illness.
She was born July 4, 1901, in
Beallsville, a daughter of the late Elile and Eva Mellott Headley.
Surviving are her husband, Kennard
Morris; two daughters, Mrs. Ruth Boughner, of Jerusalem and Mrs. Grace Christman,
of Woodsfield; one son, Paul Morris, of Barberton; seven grandchildren and one
great-grandchild.
Mrs. Morris was a member of The
United Methodist Church at Jerusalem, and a member of World War 1 Veterans
Auxiliary.

Evelyn C. Neuhardt, resident of 169 Kennard Avenue,
Barnesville, died Monday evening, August 3rd at 8 P.M. in Memorial Hospital,
Princeton, W. Va., from injuries sustained in an automobile accident which occurred
at 5 P.M.
Born July 18, 1924 in Quaker City, a daughter of Doyle and
Edith Wright Carpenter, she attended the Quaker City Methodist Church and was
employed as medical records librarian at Barnesville Hospital for several
years.
Surviving are her husband, Charles (Chuck) Neuhardt; three
children, Marilyn Sue, Charles Phillip and Dennis, all of the home; her parents
of Quaker City and one brother Emmett Carpenter of Barnesville.
The body was brought to the Campbell-Plumly Funeral Home on
North Chestnut Street, where friends will be received at a time to be
announced.

Died Suddenly Friday
Paul A. Pierce, 41, of Winthrop, died suddenly Friday, Jan.
9, at 4:45 p.m. of a heart attack while driving his car in Winthrop. The car veered to the right and struck a
slide on the playground of the school.
Paul Audubon Pierce was born August 16, 1928, at Winthrop,
the son of Fred John and Reva Norman Pierce.
He attended the Winthrop schools and was graduated from the Winthrop
high school in 1945. On April 30, 1948,
he was united in marriage to Marjorie Jones at Earlville.
Mr. Pierce was employed by the Great Plains Supply Company
at Central City, Ryan and Monticello for 17 years. A year ago he became co-owner of the Pierce Book Co. of Winthrop
and he and his family moved to their new home here. He was also bus driver for the East Buchanan Community schools.
He is survived by his wife; two daughters, Vicki Rae and
Sandra Lee, at home; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Fred J. Pierce, Winthrop; and
one sister, Mrs. Kenneth (Florence) Fuessley, of Alburnett.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Monday at the First
Congregational church in Winthrop with the Rev. Denton Erickson of Monticello
officiating. Interment was in Fairview
cemetery in Winthrop. Pallbearers were
Albert Iben and Howard Zieser of Monticello, Vincent Keegan and Jack O'Brien of
Ryan, Louis Chrystal of Decorah and William Fangman of Masonville.
The Fawcett Funeral Home of Winthrop was in charge of
arrangements.

Mrs. Robert E. (Grace) Pyle of Toulon, died Friday night,
June 5 at the Kewanee Public Hospital.
Mrs. Pyle was born December 24, 1900, the daughter of
George and Lizzie Bass Barton. She
graduated from the Toulon Township High School with the class of 1919 and from
Ellsworth College at Iowa Falls, Iowa, and the State Teachers College at Cedar
Falls, Iowa.
She was married to Robert E. Pyle on September 25, 1940 at
Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
She taught at the LaFayette, Wethersfield and Toulon
schools. She was a member of the Toulon
Baptist Church and also of the Theta Epsilon National Sorority.
She is survived by her husband.
Funeral services were held Monday, June 8 at the Kidd
Funeral Home in Toulon with the Rev. Eugene Anderson, pastor of the Baptist
Church officiating. Organ selections
were played by Mrs. Kenneth Blakey.
Pallbearers were Marvin Dexter, Roy Dutton, Danny Blakey,
Dean Briner, Robert Cinnamon and Wilbur Sams.
Burial was in the Toulon Cemetery.

Born Ella Agnes Schnaufer May 19, 1907, in Charleston, W.
Va., she married M.W. Rinard Feb. 25,
1929, in Toledo, Ohio.* They came to
Breckenridge in 1938 from Marietta, Ohio.
She attended Marietta College and Denison University in
Granville, Ohio. She was a member of
Kappa Kappa Gamma Sorority.
Mrs. Rinard was an active member of the Breckenridge
Woman's Forum, the Woman's Club, and the Anna Frank Artist Club.
Survivors are her husband of Breckenridge; a daughter, Mrs.
Harold Dollins of Houston; a son, Steve of Abilene; two sisters, Mrs. G.E.
Gaugherty** and Mrs. J. D. Wilson, both of Ohio; a brother, A.H. Schnaufer of
Ohio; and a granddaughter.
Pallbearers will be Sam Rogers, Charles Kilbron,*** C.W.
Wulfjen, Blake Johnson Jr., Kenneth C. Short and J.A. Bates.

Mrs. John (Miriam Gurene) Robertson died Tuesday at home of
her daughter, Mrs. Jim Mills, 742 Gem Avenue. She was 58.
Mrs. Robertson resided at 558 Delwood Drive. She was born
in Salina, Kan. in 1911 and came to California with her parents when she was
two years old. She graduated from Dinuba High School in 1929 and attended
business college in Fresno. She married her husband in 1932 and they moved to
Tulare in the same year.
In Tulare Mrs. Robertson and her husband operated the
Tidewater distributorship until 1968.
The Robertsons worked at Camp Colby, a Methodist Church
camp in Palmdale, for a year and then moved back to Tulare last year.
In addition to her husband and her daughter, Mrs. Robertson
is survived by three sons; Dennis, Corona; Bruce, Corona del Mar, and Ronald,
Pico Rivera.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Tulare.
Funeral services are pending at Goble Chapel.

Wesley W. Schaub, 73, of 2804
12th St. SW, died this morning in Aultman Hospital after a brief illness. He
was president of Schaub Electrical Contractors and had been in the electrical
business for 55 years. A native of
Monroe County, he had lived in Canton for 60 years and was an Army veteran of
World War I.
He was a member of the board of electrical examiners for the
City of Canton and a member of Local 540, International Brotherhood of
Electrical Workers, of which he was a member.
Mr. Schaub was also a member of National Electrical Contractors
Association, Canton Lodge, Loyal Order of Moose, and North Canton Aerie,
Fraternal Order of Eagles.
He is survived by a son, Wesley W. Schaub Jr., and a daughter,
Mrs. Sylvester (Stella) Paulus, both of Canton; a brother, Homer Schaub of East
Sparta, and a sister, Mrs. Effie Jane Latta of Canton.
Rev. Harold Henniger will conduct services Friday at 1 p.m.
in Welch funeral home. Burial will be in Sunset Hills Burial Park. Friends may call Thursday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9

Henry L. Shinabery, 83, rt. 8,* died at 10 a.m. today in
Defiance Hospital where he had been a patient since Saturday.
Born Sept. 27, 1886, in Grover Hill, he was a son of Mr.
and Mrs. Robert Shinabery. He was a
self-employed roofing contractor in Defiance and when he retired in 1963, sold
the business which is now known as Richland Roofing Contractors, owned by
Nelson Hoffman.
His wife, the former Nell Hasselschwert, died in 1935.
Surviving are three sons, John R., 717 Pierce; Ralph A.,
424 Osceola, and Richard L., 213 Glenwood; a stepson, LeRoy Clubberly, Toledo;
a daughter, Mrs. Dale (Arlene) Palmer, Toledo; five grandchildren; and two
great grandchildren. Two brothers and a
sister are deceased.
Friends may call in Lawrence-Stick Funeral Home after 2
p.m. Friday.
Services tentatively are scheduled for Saturday.

S.SGT. RICHARD
SISCEL
S.Sgt. Richard L. Siscel, 28, who served two terms in
Vietnam, died at 1 a.m. Saturday at Fort Knox, Ky., of self-inflicted gunshot
wounds, authorities said.
Siscel, who returned last January from Vietnam, had spent
four years in Germany.
Sgt. Siscel, son of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Siscel of
Evansville, attended Central High School and St. Matthew's United Church of
Christ.
Also surviving are his wife, Geisela, of Lawton, Okla.;
three sons, Ben, Gary, and Michael, all at home; three brothers, James, of
Bicknell, Ind., and Tom and Larry, both stationed on the U.S.S. Kennedy at Norfolk,
Va.; a sister, Mrs. Mary Wargel of Elberfeld, Ind.; and his grandmother, Mrs.
Rose Chapple of Tell City, Ind.
The body is being shipped to Fort Sill, Okla., where
funeral arrangements are pending at Becker Funeral Home in Lawton.

William C. Spiering, 75, of 117 Bremer, died Monday morning
(July 6, 1970) at the Veterans Administration Hospital.
The son of Charles and Rica Prast Spiering, he was born
March 28, 1895 in Danville.
He was a veteran of World War I and was a retired switchman
for the C&EI railroad. He was a
member of Immanuel Lutheran Church and Curtis G. Redden Post 210, American
Legion.
Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Dorothy Knuth of Kokomo,
Ind.; a stepdaughter, Mrs. Loretta Henthorn of Prentice, Wis.; a brother, John
Spiering of Danville; four step-grandchildren, and three
step-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Francis, in 1958, and
by four sisters and five brothers.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Barrick and Son
Funeral Home with the Rev. Robert Dorow officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Park. Visitation is from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday.

Lydia A. Stickle, 80, formerly of Alliance, died at 2:50
p.m. Wednesday at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Jerry Zimmerman, 1922 Roma
Ave., Phoenix, Ariz., following an illness of eight months. She had resided with her daughter the past
two months.
The daughter of the
late James and Nancy Blake Boston, she was born in Washingtonville, Sept. 23,
1890 and was a life resident of the Alliance area.
Mrs. Stickle was a member of the First Christian Church,
Eastern Star Chapter 60, Rebekah Lodge 500 and the Daughters of
America.
Besides her daughter, she is survived by two other
daughters, Mrs. Evelyn Hartman of Canton and Mrs. Kathryn Brenneman of Wooster;
a son, Arvid of Canton; a sister, Mrs. Eva Thornburg of Cleveland; 18
grandchildren, including Mrs. Melinda Snyder Gorfi of Alliance, whom she raised
and 20 great-grandchildren.
Her husband, Alva M. Stickle died in 1957 and a daughter
Doriena* Perkins, died in 1965.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at the
Cassaday and Turkle Funeral Home with Dr. Samuel Freeman, pastor of the First

Mrs. Vesta M. Stine, 56, of 10 Washington St., Newell, wife
of Charles Clayton Stine, was pronounced dead on arrival at City Hospital
Friday at 5:45 p.m. She became ill at
home earlier.
Mrs. Stine was born in Ravenswood, W. Va., Feb. 23, 1914, a
daughter of Alman Rardon, and Sarah Houchier Rardon. She had resided the greater part of her life in the Newell
area. She was employed as a packer with
the W. C. Bunting Co. in East End.
Survivors also include four sons, Kermit Stine and Thomas
Stine, both of Newell, Robert Stine of Lawrenceville and James Stine at home;
three daughters, Mrs. Ann Stevens of Newell, Mrs. Peter (Patricia) Biancha of
East Liverpool and Miss Diana Stine, at home; three brothers, Kermit Rardon of

Dorsey Strosnider, 65, 2920 Dearborn St. died of cancer at
4:15 a.m. today in St. Elizabeth Hospital, following three months' illness.
Mr. Strosnider was
born April 19, 1904, in Paden City, W. Va., a son of Ranz and Nora Mercer
Strosnider, and came to Youngstown 34 years ago. He had been a railroader and steelworker and at the time of his
death was on disability pension. He was
a member of the Wickliffe Christian Church.
Besides his wife, the former Linda Wilson, whom he married
in 1930, he leaves two daughters, Mrs. Patricia Tarr of Austintown and Miss
Mary Louise at home; two sons, Earl William of Dallas, Tex., and Walter of Youngstown;
a sister, Mrs. Gladys Hogle of Youngstown; two brothers, Floyd and Joseph, both

Asa Wise, 86, of
Graysville Rt. 1 died at 12:45 a.m. today in Christian Anchorage Nursing Home
after a long illness.
He was born Dec. 19, 1883, in Monroe County, a son of
George and Isabelle Miller Wise. He was
a member of Pleasant Ridge Church of Christ and had been a farmer and oil field
worker. His wife, the former Nancy
Scott, died in 1946.
One daughter, Mrs. Ida Coss of Graysville, and three sons,
Emery of Marietta, William of Graysville and Asa Jr. of Lewisville Star Rt.,
survive with 29 grandchildren and a number of great-grandchildren. One brother, Homer of Barlow, survives. One daughter, three sons and two sisters
preceded him in death.

year, member of the Thomson Methodist Church, WSCS, Miriam Chapter 1, Order of
Eastern Star, Ladies Oriental Shrine, Ladies Auxiliary of El Tor Grotto. Her husband, Mansel C. Young, preceded her
in death in 1954. Surviving are one

Saturday evening (October 24) at home after a long illness. He was born May 20, 1881, near Lewisville,
Ohio.
Mr. Young was a member of Buchanan Presbyterian Church. His

Louisville, Stark Co., OH.)
Clement G. Zwick, age 76, of
525 Edwards st, Louisville, died Wednesday, April 8 [1970], in his home. He had
been a resident of Louisville for 47 years. He was a retired employee of the
United Engineering & Foundry Co. of Canton, where he had worked as a
foreman until his retirement in 1959. After his retirement he worked at the
First Federal Savings & Loan Co., Louisville branch. He was a member of St.
Louis Catholic Church and an honorary life member of the Louisville Knights of
Columbus Council 2530.
He is survived by his wife,
Josephine of the home; two daughters, Mrs. Ray (Ann) Wilour of Miami, Fla, and Mrs.
Bruce (Carolyn) Kittinger of Louisville; one son, Robert Zwick of Belton, South
Carolina; one sister, Mrs. Martha Reischman of Miltonsburg, O.; and six
grandchildren.
A Mass of Resurrection was
sung in St. Louis Church on Saturday with burial in the church cemetery.
Paquelet Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
