Bliss, Texas during the Korean War; over 50 year member of the Stafford Lodge
#300 F.&A.M; member of the Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite, Valley of
Cambridge, Ohio; member of the Aladdin Shrine; member of the Belmont/Monroe
Farm Service Agency with over 50 years of service; former member of the Monroe
County Fair Board and a devoted supporter of area athletics.
Surviving are his wife, Ruth Martin
Lafferre of 53 years whom he married on November 22, 1953; one daughter: Karen
(Dick) Sulsberger of Woodsfield, Ohio; three sons: Kirk (Karen) Lafferre, Kevin
(Kris) Lafferre and Kasey (Patty) Lafferre all of Lewisville, Ohio; two
sisters: Virginia Rohr of Columbus, Ohio and Shirley (Eugene) Evans of
Baltimore, Ohio; ten grandchildren: Keith Lafferre, Abby (Bill) Sulsberger
Roen, Karrie Lafferre, Ryan Sulsberger, Trent Lafferre, Louis Sulsberger,
Lynsey Lafferre, Kelsey Lafferre, Korey Lafferre and Kimberly Lafferre.

Lattea, 80, who died Sunday morning at

She was born Sept.
14, 1926 in LaGrange, Ind., a daughter of Joseph and Gertrude Focker.
Mrs. Lattea was a homemaker and attended the Church of God
on Lanterman Road. She loved word
puzzles and crafts.
Isabell is survived by her husband, Leo T. Lattea, whom she
married Dec. 19, 1959; 6 daughters Renee' A. Lattea of Cuyahoga Falls, and
Sheila, Ruth, Kathy, Karen and Linda; and a sister Vivian (Floyd) Hatzel of
Fort Wayne, Ind.
She was preceded in death by her parents and stepbrother,
Kenneth.

an extended illness. Robert was born April 7, 1964 in Canton.

Our beloved Jimmie Lowther, resident of Ontario, CA. Jim
was born in Mechinacis Town, Ohio on Nov. 14, 1935. Passed away peacefully
after a long illness on April 21, 2007 at San Antonio Community Hospital in
Upland, CA. Jim was preceded in death by his father Leland and mother Vivian
Lowther and his sister, Lois Herron [sic–Herren]. Jim joined the U.S.
Navy in 1952; after his discharge, he went to work for General El ectric
Aviation in the jet engine test cell for 42 years. Jim enjoyed many outdoor
activities such as golfing, boating, fishing and hunting, especially his place
at the Colorado River, which he loved dearly.
He is survived by his loving wife, Gloria Lowther of
Ontario; his loving son, Jimmie (Sharon) Lowther; loving daughters, Jackie
Verhelst (Wolf) of Troutdale, OR, Lorie Shoultz (Steve) of Gresham, OR;
granddaughters, Heather, Stephanie, Alicia, Ashley, Jamie and Kylee, all of
Oregon; grandson, Jimmie L. Lowther of Rancho Cucamonga, CA;
great-granddaughter, Jaiden; great-grandsons, Matthew, Zackary and Caleb of
Oregon; brother, Johnnie Lowther (Marsha) of Bullhead, AZ; sister Judy Baker of
Chino, CA; many nieces and nephews. Jimmie was loved very much and will be

James Michael "Mike" Lozier, 56, of North Vernon
died Sunday, Oct. 21, 2007, at Hospice of South Central Indiana Inpatient
Facility.
He was born Jan. 28, 1951, in Shelbyville, the son of James
Sr. and Katherine Taggart Lozier. He had worked at the former Muscatatuck State
Developmental Center and in general construction. He enjoyed making
lighthouses.
He is survived by his mother, Katherine Lozier of North
Vernon; one son, Jason Scroggins of North Vernon; one daughter, Kayla Lozier of
North Vernon; two sisters, Jan Summers of Louisville, Ky. and Kathy Brown of
North Vernon; one brother, Mark Lozier of North Vernon; and two nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father and one son, James
Michael Lozier III.

Bill Lucas, 76, of Taylorsville died at 1:37 a.m. Tuesday,
July 24, 2007, at Hospice of South Central Indiana Inpatient Facility.
Mr. Lucas was a retired pipe fitter and was a member of
Local No. 440 Pipe Trades union, an organization he belonged to for more than
50 years. He also was a member of Stoney Lonesome Motorcycle Club, was an avid
fisherman and loved being outdoors.
Born in Linton March 13, 1931, Mr. Lucas was the son of
Sherman and Clara Lucas. He married Janet Stewart Feb. 4, 1956.
Survivors include his wife; daughters, Becky Browne of
Columbus and Sherry Moir of Houston, Texas; grandchildren, Dean and Derek R.
Daggett and Jessie and Jake Browne; great-grandchildren, Ashlyn, Brittni,
Christian, Derek Alan and Ryan Nicole Daggett; and brothers, Sherman Lucas Jr.
of Columbus and Robert Lucas of Seymour.
He was preceded in death by his parents; daughters, Amber Ford and Debra Joan Lucas; and a brother, Norman Lucas.

Joan Rita Lynn, 75, on Saturday, December 29, 2007, Joan
passed away in Glendale, Arizona.
She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great
grandmother. With her family at her side, Joan slipped into Gods' hands after
her granddaughter, Christina read the 23rd Psalm.
Joan was preceded in death by her parents, Roy and Margaret
Weber. She is survived by her husband Austin, children; Deborah, Catherine,
Donna and Douglas. Including eleven grandchildren: Christina, James, Carissa,
Chelsea, Stephanie, Shannon, Cassandra, Abby, Jacob, Dusty, Christopher, and
six great grandchildren: Gavin, Nathan, Vivyen, Preston, Cainen, and Maysea.
Joan was born on May 21, 1932 in Kenton, Ohio. She attended
Bowling Green University where she studied Business Administration. In 1952,
she moved to Phoenix, AZ with her parents. Joan met the Love of her Life at
Central Methodist Church, and celebrated their marriage in 1954. Her life was
devoted to her family. Joan enjoyed traveling internationally with Austin, who
was a member of the Orpheus Male Chorus. What brought her the most joy was her
children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. There is a blessing God
repeats everyday.... The memory of our beloved Joan. Some people come into our
lives and leave beautiful footprints on our heart....And we are never quite the
same.

Tuesday, May 15, 2007, at St. Mary's Medical Center.
She was born on March 31, 1943, in Tell City, Ind., the
daughter of Agnes (Chappel) and Joseph Siscel.
She retired from Wabash Plastics Company after 21 years of
service and was a member of Holy Redeemer Catholic Church. She graduated from
Harwood Grade School and was a 1961 graduate of Central High School
Mary Rose is survived by three daughters, Debra Wargel of
Boonville, Ind., Christine Hill of Elberfeld, Ind., and Nancy L. Wargel of New
Haven, Ill.; and three brothers, James Siscel of Bicknell, Ind., Larry Siscel
and his wife, Franka, of Evansville, and Tom Siscel and his wife, Rose, of
Evansville. Three grandchildren, Mandy Wargel of Boonville, and Ashley Hill and

Shepard. On March 13, 1948, she married Alfred L. "Scotty" McBride.
Maryanna was a homemaker and a loving mother. She worked part-time as an Avon

Vincent de Paul Society of Linton, and St. Ann's Alter Society. She was a
recipient of the Brute' award in 2006 through the Evansville Diocese and was a
graduate of the 1948 Class of Linton-Stockton High School.

HARLEM - Harlem native Mary Marie (Goodheart) McCracken, 82,
of Great Falls, a former office secretary at the Air National Guard, died of
natural causes Thursday at a Great Falls care facility.
Her funeral is 11 a.m. Monday at St. Thomas Catholic Church
in Harlem, with burial in Harlem Cemetery. Edwards Funeral Home of Chinook is handling arrangements.
Marie is survived by her husband, Earl McCracken of Great
Falls; two sisters, Bev Richman of Harlem and Carol Cornett of Lodi, Texas; a
brother, Duane "Pete" Goodheart of Cape Girardeau, Mo.; many nieces
and nephews; and a special friend, Phyllis Lee of Great Falls.
Marie was born on Sept. 2, 1925, to
Ervin and Nellie Mildred (Miller) Goodheart in Harlem. Marie spent her
childhood in Harlem and on the farm on the Big Flat. She married Earl McCracken
on Oct. 1, 1949, in Great Falls. They lived in Turner and for many years they
owned and operated a store in Conrad. After moving to Great Falls, Marie worked
at Wiessman and Sons and then served as an office secretary at the Air National
Guard until she retired.
Marie
gifted us all with her love of people. Their house was home to everyone who
entered, especially their many nieces and nephews. Marie was a very strong,
modest lady who appreciated simplicity in life. Her love for everyone was
unconditional and she thought everyone was wonderful no matter what. That
Christian attitude was a great legacy that she left us with. Much laughter and
giggles were shared around the kitchen table because of Marie's wonderful and
crazy sense of humor and spirit. She also enjoyed gardening, reading and
crocheting and she was very good about remembering birthdays.
Marie was proceeded in death by her
parents; three brothers, Vince Goodheart, BJ "Swede" Goodheart and
Johnny Goodheart, who died in the Korean War; two sisters, Dorothy Leo and
Shirley Richman, both of Harlem; and three infant siblings, Wincell, Dennis and

BLOOMFIELD — Jesse E. Miller, 72, of Bloomfield, passed
away Friday at Bloomington Hospital.
Born December 27, 1934, he was the son of Jesse Louis and
Violet Marie (Myers) Miller. Jesse was a self-employed paint contractor and
wood cutter. He attended the Calvary Baptist Church in Bedford.
Survivors include his wife Beverly (Sullivan) Miller of
Bloomfield; four daughters, Marilyn Mitchell of Bloomfield, Gloria Jean Miller
and companion Wade Fox, all of Bloomfield, Teresa Sue Miller of Martinsville,
and Sheryl Renee Koontz and husband Dwight of Bloomington; three sons, Jason

FRANKLIN, 87, of Apopka, FL, formerly of Massillon, Ohio, passed away
November 2, 2007. Family will receive

He was born in Howenstein, Ohio on September 2, 1920 to
Frank and Emma Bertha (Csornai) Miller.
He graduated from Canton Twp. High School in l938. He was a WWII
veteran, having served in France and Germany as a Staff Sargeant for the U.S.
Army. He married Ruby Jean (Wallace) Miller in 1947. He enjoyed playing fast
pitch softball and played for Stark Ceramics, Buxbaum and Ashland Cos. and was
inducted in the Greater Canton Softball Association. He retired from the
Ashland Oil Co. in 1986 with 34 years. He lived in Massillon from 1962 until
1989 at which time he relocated to Apopka, FL. In his retirement years he
enjoyed following various sports teams and stocks, gardening and traveling.
Robert
was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Ruby (2004); son, Timothy R.
Miller and sister, Mary Latta. He is survived by his children, Terry A.
Miller of Apopka, Teresa J. Miller of Massillon, OH, Todd G. Miller of Apopka,
Tina M. Miller-Fortune of Apopka; granddaughter, Jemma JeanMarie Fortune; and

MIDDLEPORT — Howard E. Minard, Jr., 66, of Middleport, OH,
died on Tuesday, October 2, 2007 at his residence, with his son and daughter
and two nieces present. He was born on February 8, 1941 in Van Buren, OH, son of
the late Howard and Easter* (Archer) Minard.
Mr. Minard attended Arcadia High School in 1960, then
joined the United States Army from 1960-1962 in Fort Knox, KY. He served during
the Cold War. Following the Military, Mr. Minard worked at Fostoria Foundry
until the plant closed in 1980 and finished his time at Kokomo Casting Plant in
Kokomo, Ind., retiring in 1991. He was a member of the National Rifle
Association, the UAW Local #1166 and the American Legion Post #128.
Howard loved the outdoors. He spent time in Canada hunting.
Surviving are a son, Jeff (Beth) Minard, Bloomdale, OH; a
daughter, Dorothy (Jeff) Minard-Glick, Arlington, OH; grandchildren, Joshawa S.
Minard, Brandon and Jennifer Snay; brothers and sisters, Pat (Mick) Tyson,
Wayne, OH; Betty Brooks, Arcadia, OH; Dave (Patti) Minard, Payson, AZ; Bill

Memorial Hospital of Weston, following a brief illness.
He was born in Gilmer County on October 26, 1938; son of
the late Dwight Moody and Hazel (Osburn) Moody.
Mr. Moody is survived by two
daughters, Robin Hoehn of Pompano Beach, FL, and Rachael Humphreys and husband
Jerry of Hartville, OH, and several grandchildren. Also surviving are two
brothers, Dwight Moody of Uniontown, OH, and Virgil Moody of Akron, OH, and

Mr. Moody was a carpenter. He attended the Pricetown United

71, passed away at 9:50 a.m. Sunday June 17, 2007, Genesis Hospice, Morrison

Edward was born Aug. 22, 1935, in
Sinksgrove, W. Va., to the late Edward Houston and Dollie Muetzel Moore. Edward
loved to fish and enjoyed camping. He worked in construction and as a heavy
equipment operator until he retired in 1971. Edward served his country and
protected our freedom as a solider in he U.S. Army during the Korean conflict.
Edward is survived by sons, Edward (Regina) Moore of Marietta and
Ron (Becky) Ault of Orrville; daughters; Sherrie (Terry) Foster of Marietta,
Terrie (Robbie) Coombs of Cutler, Connie (Chuck) Schultheisz of Marietta and

JASONVILLE — Earl Richard "Dick" Myers, 70, of
Jasonville, died Friday at Terre Haute Regional Hospital.
He was a laborer, retiring in 2000.
Survivors include his companion, Norma Jean Fulton; two
sons, Waylon E. Myers and Kenneth D. Myers of Monticello, Ky.; one daughter,
Tasha L. Myers, of Monticello, Ky.; three brothers, Eugene Myers of LaPorte,
Danny Myers of Shelburn, and Larry Myers of Jasonville; and two sisters,
Shirley Glascoe and Mary Syler, both of Dayton, Ohio.
Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Monday at Sassafras
Cemetery in Linton.

Ralph J. Naze, 84, of Prairie Ridge Ct., Sheboygan, died at
St. Nicholas Hospital on Wednesday morning, October 17, 2007.
Ralph was born August 15, 1923 in Rosiere, Wisconsin to
Joseph and Josephine (Charles) Naze. He graduated from Southern Door High
School in Brussels, Wisconsin, Class of 1941.
During W.W. II, Ralph served his country in the U.S. Navy
aboard the aircraft carrier, USS Long Island.
Ralph was a district agent for Woodmen Accident & Life
from 1952 - 1965. He became a Sheboygan resident in 1953. During that time, he
was named Woodmen’s Agent of the Year in 1960, and was appointed state manager
in 1964 for lower Michigan.
In 1966, Ralph
joined the Massachusetts Mutual Financial Group in Sheboygan, where he received
numerous awards including the Appleton Mass Mutual General Agency Agent of the
Year Award for 20 consecutive years. He was a life member of the Million Dollar
Round Table and earned his CLU designation in 1970. Ralph was president of the
Sheboygan Association of Life Underwriters in 1960 and State Director the
following year.
On June 27, 1988 he was united in marriage to Jacquelin B.
Sherman of Sheboygan in Las Vegas.
Ralph was an avid sports fan and participated in numerous
sports with his family and friends. He spent many hours on the golf course and
was a member of Pine Hills Country Club for years. Ralph was a loyal follower
of the Green Bay Packers and UW Athletics. Active in the community, Ralph
served as secretary and treasurer of the Lakeshore Kiwanis Club, a former
member of the Sheboygan Jaycees, Knights of Columbus and was a life member of
the Sheboygan Elks Lodge #299.
Ralph was an active member of Immaculate Conception Parish.
He served on the school board and finance committee and enjoyed coaching the
girl’s basketball team for several years. He was currently a member of the St.
Vincent De Paul Society.
Surviving Ralph are his sons, Michael Naze of Sheboygan and
Scott (Richelle) Naze of Waukesha; his daughters, Maureen (Raymond) Calvesio of
Apple Valley, Minnesota, Lisa (David) Flood of Plymouth, Patti (Andy) Raml and
Kathy (Tim) Kohlbeck of Sheboygan. He enjoyed his 10 grandchildren, Gina
Calvesio, Nikki Maloney, Kyle and Jake Raml, Megan and Andrea Flood, Luke and
Sarah Kohlbeck and Lauren and Michael Naze and enjoyed participating in sports
and other activities with them. He is also survived by his step children, Gary
Van Auken of Deerfield, Wisconsin, Peggy (Reid) Hanzalik of Crestwood,
Kentucky, David (Deborah) Van Auken of Antigo, Wisconsin, Sherri (Terry)
Rusch-Regenwether of Sheboygan, Traci (Tom) Holtan of Sheboygan, Kelly Olson of
DeForest, Wisconsin and Richard Sherman of Sheboygan; seventeen
step-grandchildren; and three great-step-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents and wife, Jacqueline, Ralph was
preceded in death by three brothers, Lawrence, Joseph and Benjamin; and five
sisters, Libby Krieser, Laura Powers, Marie Van Der Vest, Ceil May and Agnes
Bouche.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday,
11:00 A.M. at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church by Rev. Glenn Powers, the
Pastor. A time of visitation and support will be held at the church on Saturday
from 9:00 A.M. until the time of service.
The family requests memorials be made to Immaculate
Conception Parish, St. Vincent DePaul Society or the Child Abuse and Neglect

Alerts and was one of the founders of OARDC Credit Union.

whom he had been married 53 years; his children, David (Sharen) Neuhardt of

MILLERSBURG -- Another star was placed
in the heavens Tuesday, Dec. 18, 2007, when Richard Allen Norris, 52, of
Millersburg, surrounded by his loving family in his home, came to the end of
his courageous battle with cancer.
Richard was born Oct. 6, 1955, to
Ralph W. and Maggie J. (Giauque) Norris in Millersburg. Employed by Fleewood
Travel Trailers for 32 years, he worked in several different states and easily
made many lifetime friends wherever he went. He had a quality about him that
drew you to him and made you want to share time and tales with him.
He loved and enjoyed family, friends, NASCAR races (or racing
of any kind), camping, four-wheeling, hunting, fishing, woodworking, crafting
with his wife, music, barbecuing and the Indiana Covered Bridge Festival.
He is survived by his devoted wife and
caregiver, Brenda; children, Jared (Brenda) Norris of Richmond Heights, Amber
Didinger (Julio Guerra) of Killbuck and Heather (Chris) Laurie of Fairmount,
W.Va.; sisters, Jan Ochs of Killbuck, Rita Norris of Killbuck and Gayle
Patterson of Millersburg; sisters-in-law, Debbie (Tom) Patton of Loudonville
and Donna (Kirby) Crane of Millersburg; stepfather, Perry Rine of Killbuck;

HAROLD EUGENE OLDHAM, JR., a resident of Eureka Springs,
AR, was born August 18, 1944, in Dennison, TX, a son of Harold E. Sr. and
Margaret (Phillips) Oldham. He departed this life Sunday, May 6, 2007 in
Fayetteville, AR, at the age of 62.
Mr. Oldham was a travel agent and a member of Button
Memorial United Methodist Church in Little Elm, Texas. He also attended the
First United Methodist Church in Eureka Springs.
On August 2, 1989, he was united in marriage with Virgilyn
Centeno who survives him of the home. He is also survived by one son, Harold
Oldham III of Eureka Springs, one daughter, Tammie Martin-Cunningham and her
husband Holly Cunningham of Keller, TX, two brothers, Billy Oldham of
California and Thomas Oldham of Ft. Walton Beach, FL, and two grandchildren,
Blake and Brett Martin of Keller, TX.

Richard Paul Pointer of Brownsburg died Thursday at the age
of 57.
Mr. Pointer had been a route deliveryman for Atkinson
Enterprises and was an Army veteran.
He was a member of Connection Pointe Christian Church and
the Brownsburg American Legion, where he was a former post chaplain.
Survivors include his wife Shirley Pointer; son Steven
(Stacey) Pointer; daughters Kimberly (Rey) Delarosa, Shannon (William Sr.)
Hall, and Kelly (Thomas) Taylor; his mother, Madelyn Pointer; two sisters; and
11 grandchildren.
Preceding him in death were his father, Richard Pointer,

RIPLEY - Reta Gale Dillon Parsons, 60, of Ripley, departed
this life Sunday, March 11, 2007, at Camden Clark Memorial Hospital,
Parkersburg, following an extended illness.
She was born February 10, 1947 at Charleston, a daughter of
Charles Everett Dillon of Ripley and the late Mary Kathleen Davis Dillon.
She was a retired teller from City National Bank, formerly
Bank of Ripley, with 40 years of service. She was also a member of the Ripley
Tabernacle Baptist Church.
In addition to her father, survivors include her son Larry
Eugene Parsons, Jr., of Ripley; step-mother Helen Dillon of Ripley; sister
Beverly Sue Dillon of Ripley; step-brother Richard Winter of Waynesboro, VA;
step-sisters Terry Lynn Faunce of Townville, PA and Susan Detwiler of Waxhaw,
NC; grandchildren Emily Shinn, Dylan Parsons and Ryley Parsons; nieces Yvette
Welling of Given and Brandy Nelson of Ripley; nephew Mike Clark of Winfield and
special friends Zella Fisher and family; Fonda Moore and Ginger Stephens.
In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by her
husband Larry E. Parsons, Sr.

the Ripley Tabernacle Baptist Church, Ripley, with Pastor Mike Elder

Ohio, passed away peacefully at her residence.
She was born and raised in East Liverpool on August 23,
1936 and was the loving daughter of the late Loren & Pauline (McCall)
Griffin. Mrs. Peddicord lived her entire life in the area as a loving wife,
mother, grandmother, sister and great-grandmother. She had worked as a private
care giver.
Her husband, James W. Peddicord preceded her in death on
October 29, 1981.

2007, at her home following a year-long battle with cancer.
She was born July 19, 1935, in Lewis County, a daughter of

Surviving are her husband Billy V. Perry, whom she was
united in marriage to on Feb. 25, 1955; two daughters, Joni Lynne Marple and
husband, David, of Buckhannon and Melissia June Lamb and husband, Ronald, of
Buckhannon; four grandchildren, Daniel Lee Marple and wife, Ashley, Corey
Steven Riffle, Dustin David Marple and Dalton Michael Marple, all of

Arnold E. “Gene”
Petty, 80, of Williamstown passed away Sept. 14, 2007, at the Marietta Memorial
Hospital. He was born July 23, 1927, in Wood County, a son of the late John Rex
and Murhl Bauman Petty.
Gene was retired from Union Carbide after 35 years of
service. He was a member and former elder at the North End Church of Christ,
where he served for 16 years. Gene was an U.S. Army veteran having served in
World War II and he enjoyed golfing, fishing, gardening and spending time with
his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Gene was a beloved husband and
father and will be sadly missed by family and friends.

Richard Allen Pitner, 85, of Angier, N.C., died peacefully
in his sleep on Saturday, Aug. 4, 2007, at his home following a long, hard
battle against cancer. He was born April 28, 1922, in Martins Ferry, Ohio, the
son of Elsie Monigold and Seth Green. He served in the U.S. Army, 7th Airborne
Squadron, 13th Air Force, as a highly decorated fighter pilot in the Pacific
Theatre during World War II. After his service to his country, Mr. Pitner spent
time as a commercial pilot, a long-haul trucker and a charter fisherman in Key
West, Fla.
He is survived by his children and their families, Charles
Bart (Mary Anna) Pitner and sons, Zachary and Conner Pitner, of Rostraver
Township, Rebecca Lynn (Rodney) Flournay, Glenn Edwin Pitner, and Gregory Allen

died Sunday afternoon, June 3, 2007, in his home in Crocker.
He was born July 27, 1962, in Lebanon, to Roy Lee and Doris
Jean Mings Porter.
He married Angelina Jennings, who preceded him in death in
2004.

Richard
Dean Porter, son of Roy Lee and Doris Jean Mings Porter, was born July 27,
1962, in Lebanon, Missouri. He departed this life Sunday, June 3, 2007, in his
home, in Crocker, Missouri, at the age of forty-four years, ten months, and six
days.
He was
preceded in death by his father; and his wife, Angelina Chambers Porter.
Richard is survived by two daughters, Sera Porter and Mae Porter, both of
Crocker, Missouri; two sons, Richard Porter, Jr. and Ethan Porter, both of
Lebanon, Missouri; a grandson, Michael; his mother, Doris Porter, of
Springfield, Missouri; four sisters, Cindy Jones, and her husband, Larry, of
Seymour, Missouri, Jo Sharp, and her husband, Jim, of Dixon, Missouri, Vicky
Boiko, and her husband, Vladimir, of Greeley, Colorado, and Loretta Sweeney, of
Wichita, Kansas; a number of nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other
relatives and friends.
He was
born and raised in the Lebanon community, and lived most of his life in the
Lebanon area. Since Angelina’s passing, he had made his home in Crocker,
Missouri. He worked for the Independent Stave Company for several years, and
also had been a farmhand on the Deb Long Farms. Richard had made his profession
of faith in Christ and was a member of Tabernacle Baptist Church in Lebanon. In
his spare time he enjoyed attending sales and collecting knives. Although he
had several health problems for the last several years, he bore his illness
with great courage and determination. His family was very important to him and
he especially enjoyed spending time with his children. Richard was a loving
father, grandfather, son, brother, and uncle, and was a caring neighbor and
friend. He will be greatly missed, but the memories he made for his family and
friends will live on forever in their hearts. He suffered on this earth….but
now he has his reward.
Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, June 7, 2007, in the
Holman-Howe Funeral Home, Lebanon. Visitation will follow the service. Services
are under the direction of Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Lebanon, Missouri.

former mayor of Summerfield, Ohio for 12 years; member of the former
Summerfield United Methodist Church, Summerfield, Ohio and attended the
Summerfield Church of Christ, Summerfield, Ohio; a member of the former Order
of Eastern Star, Summerfield, Ohio; member of the Delta Kappa Gamma Honor
Society and a member of the Noble County Retired Teachers Association.

Dwight Dorse Reynolds, 93, of Sanford, passed away October
28, 2007.
Mr. Reynolds was born December 30, 1913 in Rushville, IN,
the son of the late John and Rhode (Heider) Reynolds.
In Rushville he farmed for 15 years and was employed with
New Salem High School for 20 years.
He came to Central Florida in 1970. He was employed with
Hub Industrial Supplies in Orlando, and the Mobile Filling Station of Sanford.
Mr. Reynolds was a member of the First United Methodist
Church, and the Ware Bible Class.
Mr. Reynolds was predeceased by his wife Evelyn M. Reynolds
in 1996; the two were married for 63 years. He was also predeceased by a
daughter, Marilyne Wall in 1988. He is survived by his children, Blythe B.
(Dean) Smith of Sanford, Dwight L. (Elena) Reynolds of Centennial, CO, and

at age 62. Mr. Riggenbach was also a part-time carpenter and farmed 80 acres in
Palmyra Township where he resided with his family.
Mr. Riggenbach was preceded in death by his wife Mable
Turner Riggenbach, to whom he was married 35 years, in December 1972; also
preceded by his daughter Patricia Ann and his second wife, Ruth (Burt)
Riggenbach in 2004.
Survivors include his children: Eddie (Mary) Riggenbach of
Edinburg, Randy Riggenbach of Reno, Nev., Bonnie (Bob Holmes) Riggenbach of
Rapid City, S.D., and Linda (Richard) Robb of Berlin Center; a brother: Oscar

Stephen Meade Rinard passed away Sunday, October 21, 2007.
Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 p.m. on Monday, October 29, at The Hamil
Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road. Funeral services will be at 4:00 pm
on Tuesday, October 30, at Pioneer Drive Baptist Church. A military burial will
follow in Elmwood Memorial Park.
Stephen Meade Rinard was born in Breckenridge, Texas on
July 7, 1942 to Meade Withington and Ella Agnes Rinard. Steve attended East
Ward Elementary, Breckenridge Junior High School, and Breckenridge High School.
He graduated from Breckenridge High School in 1960. As a young man, Steve
attended Camp Stewart in Hunt, Texas for three years. At age 14, from
1956-1960, he worked for the Safeway Grocery Store in Breckenridge. After graduation,
Steve and his four close friends, Sam Rogers, Joe Provenza, Eddie Clark, and
Jimmy Frasier, left June 17, 1960 on a 12,000 mile, two month trip through the
western United States, Canada, and Alaska. Traveling in a 4-wheel drive double
cab international truck, equipped with a 9-foot cabin, they fulfilled a 4-year
ambition first begun when they were freshmen.
Steve graduated from the University of Texas in 1965 with a
degree in Bachelor of Business Administration. While at the University of Texas,
from 1961-1965, he was a Committee Clerk for the House of Representatives in
Austin, Texas.
On November 19, 1966, Steve
married Carolyn Eunelle Short in Abilene, Texas.
From 1966 to 1967, Steve worked for his father in
Breckenridge as an Independent Oil Operator. In 1967, they moved to Monahans,
Texas where Steve worked for Dowell Chemical. From 1967 to 1969, Steve worked
for Titches-Goettinger as a men's clothing buyer in Dallas, Texas. From 1969 to
1976, Steve was a buyer and manager for the Minter's Department Stores in
downtown, River Oaks, and Sweetwater, Texas. During this time, Steve became a
member of the Rotary Club and the Junior Chamber of Commerce. He received many
awards including JC of the year in 1973. From 1974 to 1975, Steve attended
Hardin-Simmons University and obtained his Business Composite teacher
certification. In 1976, Steve became a teacher in the Vocational (Career and
Technology) Department at Abilene High School. He also taught AP (Honors)
Economics at Abilene High School. Abilene High School made Steve an honorary
member of their Future Farmers of America chapter. From 1977 to 1978, he
received a Career Technology Certification from Texas A&M University.
Concurrently with teaching at Abilene High School, he taught in the evenings at
Cisco Junior College. He was the Department Chair of the Career and Technology
Department until his retirement in 2006. He loved Abilene High School, Royce
Curtis, Terry Bull, and faculty of the Career and Technology Department so very
much.
Steve and Carolyn were Cooper High School band officers
from 1987 to 1991 and from 1996 to 2000. They were band treasurers and
accompanied the Cooper Band to both the Rose Bowl Parade in 1990 and to Hawaii
in 2000. Steve was an ardent supporter of both Abilene High School and Cooper
High School athletic programs for many years. In 1991, Steve became a loyal
supporter of Baylor University and the Baylor Bears. He attended all sporting
events for Baylor. Watching Cowboy football and Texas Ranger baseball were his
favorite weekend activities.
Steve's favorite summers for 26 years were family vacations
spent in motor homes, travel trailers, and National Lodges in the state parks
of Texas and the National Parks. Grand Teton, Yellowstone, and Grand Canyon
National Parks were his very favorites.
Steve spent 21 total years in the military. He joined the
Texas National Guard in Breckenridge and spent 10 years in Field Artillery. He
then transferred to the 490th Civil Affairs Unit of the Army Reserve in Abilene
and spent 11 years. He was a Fire Directions Supply and Operations Staff
Sergeant earning the rank of E7. He was awarded the Army Commendation Medal in
1987 and 1989. He retired from Active to Retired Reserves in January of 1989.
Steve was preceded
in death by his parents, father-in-law, Kenneth Cameron Short and
mother-in-law, Ila Belle Brewer Short. He is survived by his wife of 41 years,
Carolyn Eunelle Short Rinard, daughter Lynlee Ila Rinard Ridley and husband
Philip Lynn Ridley, son Cameron Stephen Rinard, grandson Reed Stephen Ridley,
and granddaughter Caroline Oneal Ridley, brother-in-law Kenneth Cameron Short
II, sister-in-law Kathee Short, all of Abilene, Texas, sister Lucinda Dollins
of Conroe, nieces Renee Saldana and Monique Saldana of Houston, and nephew Ryan
Dollins of Houston.

Edward (Duane) Rogers, age 77, of Edina, Missouri died at
his home, December 12, 2007 under the care of his wife Diane, friend Sharon
Culler, and also Hospice of Northeast Missouri.
Duane was born March 5, 1930 in Hedrick,* Iowa, the son of
Santford Edward and Edna Kopsieker Rogers.
On August 21, 2000 in Miami, Oklahoma, he married Diane
Rudicil.
Surviving are his wife Diane Rogers of Edina, Missouri; two
sisters, Florence Kriegshauser and husband Jim of Peoria, Illinois and Maurine
Shearer and husband Stanley of Kansas City, Missouri; one sister-in-law, Debbie
Miller and husband Keith of Muskogee, Oklahoma; one brother-in-law, Jim Rudicil
and wife Paula of Edina, Missouri and Raymond and Carolyn Rudicil of Edina,
Missouri; three children, Laura Patton of Waynesville, Missouri, Kathy Tallant
and husband Brian of Waynesville, Missouri, and Michael Rogers and wife Laura
of Richland, Missouri, five grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Duane was preceded in death by his parents.
Duane was raised in the Novelty, Missouri area and he
served his country in the United States Air Force from January 5, 1954 to
January 4, 1957. Duane worked in the Ford assembly plant in Kansas City,
Missouri for a time and later he drove a propane truck for MFA Oil and
Christian County Gas in Ozark, Missouri for twenty five years until his
retirement. He then moved back to Edina in 1994.
Duane enjoyed traveling and camping with Diane and his dog
Blacky and also going to tractor shows and visiting with his two best friends,
John Mason and Dwain Perrigo and many others. Duane had a great love for riding
his Minneapolis Moline tractor and enjoyed being outdoors.
At his request, Duane is going to be cremated and there
will be no services, but there will be a celebration of his life on December
29, 2007 from 4-8:00 p.m. at the V.F.W. Memorial Post #4822 in Edina, Missouri.
Memorials in honor of Duane Rogers may be made to the
American Cancer Society and may be left at or mailed to the Hudson Rimer
Funeral Home, P.O. Box 1, Edina, Missouri 63537.

Gresham resident Besse Elizabeth (Hayes) Ross, 84, died
Saturday, Sept. 1, in Gresham.
Inurnment will be held at Willamette National Cemetery at a
later date.
Besse was born June 16, 1923, in Keokuk County, Iowa, to
Don and Ethel (Hollingsworth) Hayes. She attended Iowa State College, where she
graduated with a Bachelor of Science in dietetics in 1944. While at school, she
met James “Jim” Ross, who was serving in the Navy.
On Sept. 30, 1945, she married Jim in Portland.
Besse taught first grade at Orient Grade School for 19
years. She enjoyed traveling, studying Indian cultures and working with many
different crafts. As a member of the Damascus Craft School for 25 years, she
excelled at weaving, with a specialty in Navajo rugs.
She was preceded in death by her
brother, Bruce Hayes, and son, Don Ross.
Survivors include her husband of Gresham; sisters, Jean Lampe of
Clinton, Iowa, Nelle Scalf of Wellman, Iowa; brothers, Wade Hayes of Wellman,
Harvey Hayes of Phoenix, Ariz; daughters, Jean Watson of San Antonio; Janet
Bortnem of Newberg and Sandy Kucharczyk of Breckenridge, Colo.; six
grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

She was born Oct. 21, 1949, in Marietta to Dale and Hazel
Berry Bules. She was a 1968 graduate of
Marietta High School. Cathy Russell had
worked as a floral clerk at Kroger for 33 years. She lived for her grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband, Dave Russell, whom she
married on Aug. 11, 1977; a daughter, Natalie Jo Gray (T.J.) of Marietta; two
sons, Nathan Russell of Marietta and Nick Russell (Traci) of Marietta; six
grandchildren, Makenzie, Rileigh, Kalie, Zack, Sadie and Zoe; four
stepgrandchildren, Keeper, Ty, Eli and Emrie; a brother, Donald Bules of

Women's Bowling League in Woodsfield, Ohio and Pocnoke, Maryland.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother,
Douglas Bryan Powell and one sister, Frances Mae Pusey.
