     Grisell Funeral Home, Moundsville, West Virginia, April 19, 2010

     Ebert, Benjamin F., Sr. age 89 of Wellsburg, WV formerly of Proctor, WV passed away Sunday, April 18, 2010 at Valley Haven Geriatric Center, Wellsburg, WV.

     He was born November 25, 1920 in Marshall County, WV the son of the late Carl and Willow Yocum Ebert.

     He was a self employed logger and a protestant by faith.

     In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two children, James Ebert and Donna Anderson; and two brothers, Jake and Paul Ebert.

     Survivors include his companion, Betty Sexton of Wellsburg; eight children, Darlene (Roy) Yoho of Proctor, David (Cheryl) Ebert of Proctor, Bertha (Joe) Woods of Wheeling, Ben (Renee) Ebert, Jr. of Cameron, Anna (Todd) Wolfe of Moundsville, Betty Ebert of Mason, WV, William Ebert of McMechen, Christina (Steve) Wayman of Proctor; two brothers, Carl (Rosemary) Ebert, Jr. of Follansbee and Harold Ebert of Ohio; a sister, Matilda (Jim) Lower of Sardis, OH; 24 grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews; a special friend Mary Kelley of Wellsburg.

     Family will receive friends on Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9pm at Grisell Funeral Home & Crematory, 400 Jefferson Avenue, Moundsville where funeral service will be held Wednesday at 10am with Pastor Paul Smith officiating. Interment in Greenwood Cemetery, Wheeling, WV where the Moundsville Honor Guard will conduct military graveside services.

        Wilburn S. Eden, Jr., 67, died July 6, 2010, at home.

        He attended Embassy of Christ Church and Boonville Worship Center. He retired from DSM Manufacturing.

        Surviving are his wife, Joyce; sons, John, Mark and Jeff Eden; stepsons, Steve, Scott and Shawn Vinson, Scott and Richard Ford; stepdaughters, Tina and Kathy Ford; brothers, James, Danny and Bradley Eden; sisters, Patty . . . .

Ensinger, Marilyn J. Ensinger nee Bauman

     Grisell Funeral Home, Clarington, Ohio, December 26, 2010

     Ensinger, Marilyn J., age 80 of Ensinger Lane, Sardis, OH died Saturday, December 25, 2010 at the New Martinsville Care & Rehabilitation  Center. She was born April 29, 1930 in Sardis, OH the daughter of the late Fred and Daisy Rufener Bauman.

     She was a member of the Zion United Church of Christ and a former member of the Hilltop Homemakers.

     In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband: Roy W. Ensinger.

     Survivors include two sons: Roy W. (Susie) Ensinger, Jr. of Sardis, OH and Ken Ensinger of Powhatan Point, OH; four sisters: Delores (Ray) Straub of Sardis, OH Arlene Winkler of Caldwell, OH, Janet (Sam) Straub of Sardis, OH and Janice (Fred) Miller of New Matamoras, OH; two grandsons: Jason (Sarah) Ensinger of Toronto, OH and Derek Ensinger of Powhatan Point, OH and three great-grandchildren: Chase Meyer, Asher and Sadie Cole and several nieces and nephews.

     The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 2-4 & 7-9pm at the Grisell Funeral Home, 125 Clarinda Drive, Clarington, OH where funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 1:00pm with Rev. Terry Pringle officiating.

Ensinger, Violet L. Ensinger nee Cook

     Grisell Obituaries, Clarington, Ohio, January 9, 2010

     Ensinger, Violet L., 83, of Sykes Ridge Road, Clarington, Ohio died Friday January 8, 2010 at Ruby Memorial Hospital, Morgantown, WV.
She was born April 7, 1926 in Clarington, the daughter of the late Bessie Ollom Arman and Alonzo Cook.

     In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Glenn Ensinger and step father, Charles Arman.
Survivors include nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends, Mark (Lori) Lucas and family of Clarington.

     Family will receive friends on Monday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at Grisell Funeral Home, 125 Clarinda Drive, Clarington, OH where funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 11 am. with Lorna Knight officiating. Interment in Clarington Cemetery.

 

Evans, Clarence E. Evans

     Bauer-Turner Obituaries, Woodsfield, Ohio, October 4, 2010

     Clarence E. Evans, age 79, of New Matamoras, Ohio died Sunday October 3, 2010 at Marietta Memorial Hospital. He was born March 12, 1931 in Monroe County Ohio a son of the late Richard and Della Bruce Evans.

     He was retired from Corning Glass Works in Paden City, West Virginia, a veteran of the Korean War and a member of the Unity Baptist Church.

     In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 57 years, Louise Ritchie Evans on May 26, 2009, one sister: Gladys Evans Koher, four brothers: Ralph, Kenneth, Warren, and Myron Evans.

     He is survived by one daughter: Kathy (Glen) Schwaben of Sardis, Ohio, One brother, Orvel Evans of New Matamoras, one grandson, Joshua Daylrymple of Woodsfield, Ohio, one granddaughter, Vicki Morris of Colorado Springs, Colorado, two great grandsons, Cameron and Cole Morris of Colorado, one great granddaughter, Kjersten Morris of Alabama, and one great-great grandson, Benthey Kale of Alabama, and several nieces, nephews, and in-laws.

     Friends will be received from (2-9) p.m. Tuesday at the Bauer-Turner Funeral Home 100 S. Paul St. Woodsfield, Ohio where Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday October 6, 2010 with Pastor Anthony McSwords officiating.

     Interment in East Lawn Memorial Park, Marietta, Ohio. Military services conducted by the Belmont Veterans Council.

     Fankhauser, Mary Lou Ollom, age 84, of Woodsfield, Ohio, formerly of Clarington, Ohio, died Monday, July 5, 2010 at the Woodsfield Nursing & Rehab Center.

     She was born May 14, 1926, a daughter of the late Charles and Catherine Craney Craig.

     She was a former employee of Conalco; a member of the Order of Eastern Star Chapter #533; and a member of Clarington United Methodist Church.

     In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Glenn W. Ollom; and her second husband, Alfred Fankhauser.

     Survivors include two daughters, Jean (Don) Gehrig of Clarington and Cathy (Bob) Watson of Shadyside, Ohio; a son, Craig (Terri) Ollom of Powhatan Pt., Ohio; a step daughter, Dr. Karen Fankhauser-Hawkins of Lewisburg, VA; 7 grandchildren, Amy (Tom) McFarland of Shadyside, Christina (Jason) Henthorn of Woodsfield, Ann Smith, of Shadyside, Brian (Billie) Gehrig of Columbus, Ohio, Matthew Gehrig of St.. Clairsville, Ohio, Natalie Gehrig, and Dr. Chad Ollom, both of Columbus, Ohio; a step grandson, Kirk (Pam) Fankhauser of WV; 7 great grandchildren, Joshua and Robbi McFarland, and Kayla, Brian and Mary Hannah Smith, all of Shadyside, Ohio, Jaysa and Joby Henthorn of Woodsfield, and a step granddaughter, Shae Fankhauser of WV.

Farnsworth, Virgil Clayton “Bus” Farnsworth Sr.

     Watters Funeral Home, Woodsfield, Ohio, September 1, 2010

     Virgil Clayton “Bus” Farnsworth, Sr., 89, of Inman, South Carolina passed away Tuesday, August 31, 2010 at Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home. He was born on August 26, 1921, the son of the late John Samuel and Dessie Morris Farnsworth of Summerfield, Ohio and the husband of the late Esther Carnes Farnsworth.

     He was a truck driver for 23 years and was a member of South Spartanburg Baptist Church where he was a former Deacon and served on the Finance Committee. He loved fishing, hunting, and his grandchildren.

     In addition to his parents and his wife, he is preceded in death by one son, Virgil C. Farnsworth Jr., one infant daughter, Twilia Jane Farnsworth, two brothers, Hobert Farnsworth, Stanley Farnsworth; three sisters: Gladys Brownfield, Clarice Brownfield, and Mildred Powell.

     Surviving are two sons: David (Susan) Farnsworth of Homeworth, Ohio, Michael Farnsworth of Inman, South Carolina; one daughter: Barbara (Karl) Austin of Pauline, South Carolina; three grandchildren: Kelly (Bryan) Ehrlinspiel of Wooster, Ohio, Esther Austin of Virginia Beach, Virginia, Karl Austin, Jr. of Inman, South Carolina; two sisters: Evelyn Price of Massillon, Ohio, Louella Markley of Canton, Ohio.

        She is survived by her son Thomas Tanner and wife Sylvia, Independence, Missouri and daughter Beverly Newton, Florida.

Ferrell, Mildred Gladys Ferrell nee King

     Marietta Times, Marietta, Ohio, April 17, 2010

     Mildred Gladys Ferrell, 99, of Marietta died at 9:50 p.m. Thursday (April 15, 2010) at Marietta Center.

     She was born Tuesday, Oct. 25, 1910, in Woodsfield, Ohio, to the late Richard Arnold and Sarah Elizabeth Rowlands King.

     Mildred worked as a cashier for August Weber Grocery and was a member of the Sixth and Washington Streets Church of Christ.

     She is survived by her sons, Leo M. Ferrell of Williamstown and Dale E. Ferrell (Kay) of Marietta; grandchildren, Diane Wilson (Randy) of Marietta, Jeffrey Ferrell (Melanie) of Marietta, and Karen Horsley (Tim) of Cincinnati; three great-grandsons; two great-granddaughters; and three great-great-grandchildren.

     In addition to her parents, Mildred was preceded in death by her husband, James Dallas Ferrell (May 25, 1982); son, Charles Edward Ferrell; granddaughter, Deborah Ferrell Padden; brothers, Floyd, Forrest and Glenn King; and sisters, Minnie Ridgeway, Mabel Merrill, Esther Dye, Estella Hendershot and Irene King.

     Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at Hadley Funeral Home Reno Chapel, 1021 Pike St., Marietta, with Roger Rush officiating.

     Flannery, Gloria Angelica Tonini, age 83, of Schupbach Addition, Hannibal, Ohio, died Thursday, September 16, 2010 at Wetzel County Hospital in New Martinsville, WV.

     She was born August 21, 1927 in Avella, PA, the daughter of the late Louis and Bianca Damin Tonini.

     She was a retired nurse of Ormet Corporation; and a Catholic by faith.

     In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Martin Flannery, in September 1998.

     Survivors include a son, Michael (Carolyn) Flannery of Hannibal; a daughter, Kim (Jim) Johnston of New Martinsville; a brother, William (Dorothy) Tonini of Hannibal; a sister, Velma Nodurft of Pittsburgh, PA; four grandchildren, Angie (David) VanCamp, Tony (Marisa) Ensinger, Joey Flannery and Lauren Flannery; and four great grandchildren, Payton and Cooper VanCamp and Zoe and Noah Ensinger.

     Alan W. Foehrenbach, age 52, of Woodsfield, Ohio died Friday February 5, 2010. He was born October 20, 1957 in Marietta, Ohio a son of Geraldine Miller Foehrenbach of Woodsfield and the late Vernon G. Foehrenbach.

     He was employed by the Village of Woodsfield and Supervisor for the Monroe Memorial Park. He was a member of the Woodsfield Eagles Lodge # 2302 and was formerly employed by the GMN Weatherization Program. n addition to his father he was preceded in death by 1 brother: Vernon Lee Foehrenbach – 2003.

     In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife: June Tuttle Foehrenbach of Woodsfield, Ohio, 1 son: Scott Foehrenbach of the home. 2 nephews: Brandon Foehrenbach – Maryland, Drew Tuttle – Mansfield, Ohio.

Foster, Bonnie J. Foster, nee McClure

Foster, Bonnie J. Foster, age 86

        Bonnie J. Foster, 86, of Jackson, went to her heavenly home on Thursday, Dec.16, 2010. She was born in Zanesvlle, Ohio on July 30, 1924, to the late Fletcher and Lucille McClure.

        Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John in 1994, and her sister, Leona Dally, in 2002.

        Bonnie was a resident of Jackson since 1956 until 2008.

        She was a devoted mother, grandmother and homemaker.

        Bonnie enjoyed bowling and her bridge clubs in earlier years. In later years she enjoyed watching sports, reading and being with family and friends.

        Due to her failing health, she resided at Samaritan Care Center in Medina, for 9 months and Arlington Care Center in Newark, Ohio for the past 16 months.

        Surviving are her beloved children, Terry (Patsy) Foster of Jackson, Brooke (Chuck) Spring of Newark, Kim (Felix) Esparra of Medina, and four grandchildren, Shelley Knox of Nashport, Megan Hightailing, Jolie Houghtaling of Medina, and William Houghtaling of Kent.

        Private services were held Thursday, December 16, at Brucker Kishler Funeral Home, Newark, and officiated by Reverend John Harra of the Neal Avenue United Methodist Church in Newark. The eulogy was written by Janie Karl of the Christ United Methodist Church, Jackson, where Bonnie was a devoted member, until her health prohibited her from attending. She never forgot her church family and was visited on a regular basis by her dear friend Janie Karl.

        Cremation to follow by Brucker Kishler Funeral Home.

     Watters Funeral Home, Woodsfield, Ohio, May 5, 2010

     George Allen Foutty, 88, of 33498 S.R. 800, New Matamoras, Ohio (Fly Community) died Tuesday, May 4, 2010 at the New Martinsville Health Care Center, New Martinsville, West Virginia.

     He was born at Fly, Ohio on August 1, 1921 a son of the late George Wesley and Effie West Foutty.

     George was a carpenter by trade. He was a former employee of Timken in Canton, Ohio; a retired employee of Olin and Consolidated Aluminum, Hannibal, Ohio; a faithful member of the Pleasant Valley Church of Christ, New Martinsville, West Virginia; a U.S. Army veteran serving during W.W.II., having received a Purple Heart for being wounded in battle.

     George loved wood-working, hunting and spent his whole life serving God and others.

     In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Jeanette Smittle Foutty in 1994; three sisters, Eloise, Cora and Emogene.

     Surviving are his wife of 13 years, Irene Finley Foutty of the home; one daughter: Janet (Tim) Schwall of Woodsfield, Ohio; one son: George S. (Lugene) Foutty of New Matamoras, Ohio; one step-daughter: Ruth Ellen (John) Callard of St. Charles, Illinois; one sister: Kathleen Hupp of Cambridge, Ohio; four grandchildren: Steve Foutty, Leslie Cisler, Jeanette Harter and Jessica Summers; nine great grandchildren; four step grandchildren; five step great grandchildren.

     Friends will be received at the Watters Funeral Home, 37501 S.R. 78 West, Woodsfield, Ohio from 12:30 p.m. until time of services at 2:30 p.m. Thursday, May 6, 2010 with Jeremy Joy officiating.

     Burial will follow in the Mehrley Cemetery, Fly, Ohio.

Fox, Robert L. Fox Sr.

        Robert L. Fox Sr., 71, of Sunnyside died Thursday in Yakima.  Mr. Fox was born in Montana and lived in the Sunnyside/Outlook area all of his life.  He was an agent for Farmers Insurance.

        Bob lived in various places across the U.S. as a child.  His parents settled in the Sunnyside/Outlook area.  He attended Sunnyside schools graduating high school in 1958.

        After graduating he joined the Marines and was stationed in San Francisco on the Treasure Island base.

        On July 9th, 1960 he returned to Sunnyside and married his high school sweetheart Dolores Dahl.

        They went back to San Francisco in order for Bob to finish his stint in the Marines.  While there on September 21st, 1961 their daughter Lorrie was born.  When Bob finished his four years with the Marines they moved back home to the Sunnyside area.  On May 5th, 1963 their son Bobby was born.

        He worked many jobs in his lifetime but his career was 33 years as an insurance agent for Farmers Insurance in Sunnyside.

        Bob was preceded in death by his wife Dolores, brother Jim Fox and his parents Dave and Helen Fox.

        He is survived by his daughter Lorrie (Randy) Wesselius, son Bobby (Deadean) Fox, grandchildren Sarah Bussey, Dusty (Mandy) Fox, Jacob (Melissa) Wesselius and Nikki Fox; brothers Bill, Dave and Don and sister Betty, nine great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

        Graveside services will be held at 1:00 pm Tuesday November 9 at Lower Valley Memorial Gardens in Sunnyside.  Lunch to follow at the Eagles in Sunnyside.  Please send memorials to the Lung Association in lieu of flowers.  Condolences can be sent to www.valleyhillsfh.com.  Valley Hills Funeral Home in Sunnyside is in charge of arrangements.

 

Fraley, Mildred A. Fraley nee Kocher

     Times Leader , Martins Ferry, Ohio, February 3, 2010

     FRALEY, Mildred A. Kocher, 90, of Beallsville, passed away Monday, February 1, 2010, in Emerald Pointe Nursing and Rehab Center, Barnesville. She was born December 29, 1919 in Belmont, Ohio, a daughter of the late Charles R. and Mary Blake Kocher.

     She was a member of the Pythian Sisters and Philodendron Twig and she was a faithful member of the Grandview Christian Church.

     Mildred was a pianist at the Beallsville Christian Church and the Grandview Christian Church for many years.

     In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Glenn Fraley, her step- mother, Mary Ewing Kocher; two brothers, Clifford and George Kocher; a sister, Betty Caldwell, a daughter-in-law, Linda J. Piatt, and a grandson, Paul Moore on December 29, 1991.

     Surviving are two sons, Richard Piatt of Uniontown, Ohio and Robert (Nora) Fraley of Beallsville; two daughters, Ladonna (Ronnie) Moore of Bethesda and Janice (Freddie) Moore of Beallsville; a brother, Gene Kocher; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren.

     Visitation will be Thursday from 5-8 p.m. at the Harper Funeral Home, Beallsville where funeral services will be held Friday at 11 a.m. with George Coffman officiating.

     Theresa B. Francis, 82, North Canton, Ohio, formerly of New Castle died Thursday, October 21, 2010 at Aultman Hospital in Canton.  She was born February 2, 1928 in Bull Run, Pennsylvania to the late Frank and Anna Wach Schultz.

     In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband - Bruce Francis (8/27/2008); 3 brothers - Regis, Francis, and Paul Bernard Schultz; 4 sisters - Gloria Schultz, Dolores Kroeger, Eileen C Schultz, and June Bazzone.  Surviving are 2 sons - Bruce (Linda) Francis of Wheeling and Chuck (Lisa) Francis of Beallsville; daughter - Gloria (Larry) Cribben of North Canton; 2 sisters - Marion Bowen and Emily Fisher both of Baker, Oregon; 11 grandchildren; and 3 great-grandchildren.

     Visitation will be on Sunday, October 24, 2010 from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at Campbell-Plumly-Milburn Funeral Home, 319 North Chestnut Street, Barnesville, Ohio, where services will be held at 9:30 AM on Monday, October 25, 2010 with Msgr. Mark Froehlich officiating. 

     Burial follows at Assumption Catholic Cemetery in Barnesville, Ohio.

        A teacher in Glendale for 38 years, Grace Elaine Frodsham was from the Bessey family of Porterville. Preceded in death by her husband, Olaf Frodsham, she is survived by son Lance, daughter-in-law Karla and three granddaughters, Emily, Allison and Laurel. A service will be held at Church of the Angels, Pasadena 1:00 April 24.

     Furbee, Charles D., age 81 of Fifth Ave., Sardis, OH, formerly of Jollytown, Pa died Wednesday, March 24, 2010 at home.

     He was born January 27, 1929 in Jollytown, the son of the late, Jefferson L. and Ida Lemmon Furbee.

     He was a US Army Veteran; a retired employee from Ormet; a member of Church of Christ, Duffy, OH; Masonic Lodge #470 AF & AM of Cortland, NY, American Legion Post 120, Hundred, WV; Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite, Valley of Syracuse.

     Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Velma C. Wilson Furbee; two daughters, Deborah (John) Dye of Washington, PA, and Sandra (Garry) Smith of Proctorville, OH; a sister, Deanna Rose Renner of Jollytown, PA; four grandchildren, James (Jolena) Dye, Lisa (Dave) Goff, Jason Dye, and Abbey Jo Smith; and a great-grandson, Logan Nicholas Goff.

     Family will receive friends on Friday from 6-9p.m. at Grisell Funeral Home & Crematory, 751 Third St., New Martinsville where funeral services will be held Saturday at 11am with Evangelist Jerry Yost officiating.

     Sam Gable, 57, of the Barnesville Health Care Center and formerly of Beallsville, died Monday, May 10, 2010 in Wheeling Medical Park Hospital.  

     He was born June 18, 1952 in Beallsville a son of Julia Vinskovich Gable and the late Arthur "Pete" Gable.  

     Sam was a member of the Baptist Church.  

     In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his sister, Nancy Jane Andrews.  

     Surviving in addition to his mother of Barnesville are two brothers, Arthur "Pete" Gable of Beallsville and James Gable of St. Clairsville; two sisters Linda Baker of Beallsville and Sally (Randy) Hashman of Barnesville; nephews and niece, Joseph and Jacob Baker and Julie and Jay Hashman.  

     Graveside services will be held Thursday, May 13 at 11 AM at the Beallsville Cemetery.

        EDDYVILLE — Donald Dean Garrett, 77, of Marion, formerly of Oskaloosa, died on Sept. 20, 2010, at St. Luke’s Hospital in Cedar Rapids.

        Visitation will be from noon to 8 p.m. today at the Eddyville Funeral Chapel. The family will be present from 6-8 p.m. this evening.

        Funeral Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Eddyville Funeral Chapel with Reverend Jason Gutzmer officiating. Burial will be at the Wymore Cemetery at Rose Hill.

     He was born May 22, 1914 in Clarington, a son of the late David Earnest and Anna Catherine Thonen Gehrig.

     He was a lifelong farmer, a retired storeroom clerk at Consolidated Aluminum, a U.S. Army utility infantry veteran of WWII, a Purple Heart recipient, a pallbearer for Franklin D. Roosevelt and a member of the Hannibal United Methodist Church in Hannibal, Ohio.

     In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Dale and John Gehrig and two sisters, Hazel Myers and Corrine Bott.

        Bonnie L. Graham was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, John C. Graham; a sister, Carol Lee Scaggs; a brother, Calvin Ray Pressly; and a sister-in-law and best friend, Eleanor Lebeau.

        She is survived by two sons, John Graham of Bedford, N.H., and Calvin Graham and his wife, Charlotte, of Burlington, Mass.; two daughters, Valerie Levitre and her husband, Denis, of Billerica, Mass., and Esther Hurney of Lebanon; her siblings, Kenneth Pressly and his wife, Becky, Vaviel Flood, Colleen Flood, Gerald Pressley and his wife, Merideth, Wilma Eastburn and Fern Punkley* and her husband, Gary; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and many close family and friends.

        GRAHAM, Bonnie Lorraine 86, formerly of Lexington, passed onto eternal rest on June 22, 2010, at her home in Lebanon, Missouri. She was born in Granite City, Illinois and in 1946 was united in marriage with John C. Graham of Lexington. She is survived by two sons, John Graham of Bedford, NH, and Calvin Graham and his wife Charlotte of Burlington; two daughters, Valerie Levitre and her husband Denis of Billerica, and Esther Hurney of Lebanon MO; 8 grandchildren, Michael Hurney, Kristy Sicard and her husband Aaron, Keith Levitre and his wife Michelle, Jessica Levitre, Callie Graham and her husband Michael Wile, Daniel, Bonnie, and Paul Graham; 3 great-grandchildren, Austin Hurney, Madelynn Sicard, and Chloe Levitre; two brothers, four sisters, and many nieces and nephews. Bonnie was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, one sister, one brother, her sister-in-law and best friend Eleanor LeBeau, and an infant grandson. Mrs. Graham worked as a nurse for over 20 years at the Metropolitan State Hospital in Waltham. In retirement she enjoyed a variety of hobbies. Reading her Bible and knitting were among her favorites. However, nothing compared to the time spent, and laughter shared with her loving family; especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.      Janeen Gibson Graham, age 60, of Ranson, West Virginia formerly of Antioch, Ohio passed away at her home Thursday December 2, 2010 after a courageous battle with ovarian cancer.  She was born in Charleston, West Virginia April 8, 1950 a daughter of the late John P. Gibson Sr. and Janet Austin Gibson.

     Janeen graduated from River High School in 1968 as a Valedictorian.  She received her Associates Degree from Chesapeake College in Wye Mills, Maryland and her Bachelors Degree in 1999 at Shepherd University in Shepherdstown, West Virginia.  She worked as a bank teller for many years before working as an Information Technology Specialist for the Social Security Administration.  Janeen was an avid runner and cyclist, and traveled extensively over the last few years.

     She is survived by her husband of 41 years; James Graham of Ranson, West Virginia, one brother; John Gibson Jr. and his wife Tammy of Woodsfield, Ohio, niece; Kimberly Gibson of Woodsfield, Ohio, father-in-law; James C. (Wilma) Graham of Waynesburg, PA, sister-in-law; Janice (Howard) Brunell of Waynesburg, nephew; Jeremy (Leighanne) Brunell and their son Jackson of Waynesburg..

He was a member of the Woodsfield Christian Church, Woodsfield, Ohio; a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam Era; a member of Stafford Lodge #300, F&A.M. and a member of the Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite, Cambridge, Ohio.

     In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Stuart Graham and Harry Graham; one sister, Betty Davis.

     Surviving are his wife, Mary Lee Williamson Graham whom he married on November 7, 1981; one sister: Mildred Piatt of Woodsfield, Ohio; two brothers: Billy (Shirley) Graham of Chardon, Ohio and Ronnie (Janet) Graham of Graysville, Ohio; a brother-in-law: Don Davis of Florida.

     Friends will be received at the Watters Funeral Home, 37501 S.R. 78 West, Woodsfield, Ohio from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Thursday, April 1, 2010 where funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, April 2, 2010 with Minister Scott Chambers and Rev. Richard Wilson officiating. Burial will follow in the Oaklawn Cemetery, Woodsfield, Ohio.

     Glenyce was a classroom aide at the Monroe Achievement Center, Woodsfield, Ohio and was a member of the Nazarene Church, Woodsfield, Ohio.

     In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Edgar E. “Ed” Gray on February 2, 2008.

     Surviving are one daughter: Donna (Robin) Grams of Boyne City, Michigan; one step-daughter: Mary Ann (Harold) Wilson of Moundsville, West Virginia; two step-sons: Wayne (Connie) Gray of Fort Branch, Indiana and David Gray of Proctor, West Virginia; one brother: Charles E. Standiford of Slippery Rock, Pennsylvania; one sister: Carolyn Neal of Portland, Ohio; two grandsons: Caleb and Cordell Grams; four step grandchildren; four step great grandchildren.

     QUAKER CITY - Phyllis J. Gray, 57, of Quaker City, died Monday (Feb. 22, 2010) at Southeastern Med in Cambridge.

     She was born April 18, 1952, in Jerusalem, daughter of the late Joseph and Geneva (Parks) Coffey.

     Mrs. Gray was a former nursing home employee, having served at Cambridge Health and Rehabilitation Center, The Beckett House and Barnesville Health Care Center.

     She was a member of Salesville United Methodist Church.

     She was a member and secretary of the Pennyroyal Ruritan Club.

     She was preceded in death by a son, Michael Wayne Gray; and a brother, James Coffey.

     She leaves her husband, James H. Gray, whom she married Dec. 30, 1970; a son, Bill (Heidi) Gray of Quaker City; a daughter, Michele Gray of Quaker City; three grandchildren, Kyle, Trevor and Austin Gray, all of Quaker City; and her mother-in-law, Madgel Gray of Quaker City.

     Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Thorn-Black Funeral Home, Quaker City, where services will be 11 a.m. Friday with the Rev. Wayne Hogue officiating.

        James Lawrence Green, 77, of Bloomington, formerly of Shelbyville, died Monday April 19, 2010, at Bloomington Hospital, from complications of colon cancer.

        Born April 26, 1932, in Indianapolis, he was the son of Paul and Ruth Green. He married Margaret Jane "Maggie" Creek, and she survives.

        Other survivors include his children, David B. (wife, Gledia) Green and Cheryl Ruth Green (husband, Bill Perry), both of Bloomington, Matthew D. (wife, Debra) Green of Indianapolis and Claudia (husband, Alan) Kalish, DVM, of Columbus, Ohio; sister, Maryellen (husband, Doran) May of Bloomington. He is also survived by his cats, Baxter and Oscar.

        He was preceded in death by his parents and grandson, Ben White.

       Mr. Green worked in print and broadcast journalism for 12 years, including seven years as a state government and political columnist for the Cincinnati Enquirer. From 1959 to 1971 he was business news editor and Statehouse and political reporter for the former WFBM Time-Life TV station (now WRTV-Channel 6) in Indianapolis. In 1973, he joined Caldwell VanRiper Inc. in Indianapolis as a public relations account executive.

        In 1974, he was named editor of the Indiana University News Bureau. After 23 years of service at IU, he retired from the position of assistant vice president for Public Affairs and Government Relations. Following retirement, he continued to serve the university for several years, working for the Advanced Research and Technology Institute.

        Mr. Green graduated from Shelbyville High School in 1950, attended Ball State University in 1950-51, and after serving two years in the army, earned a bachelor of science degree in radio and television from Indiana University in 1957.

        He was twice honored as a Sagamore of the Wabash.

        Mr. Green joined the Shelbyville Masonic Lodge No. 28 F&AM in 1953, with his father officiating. He was an elder of First Christian Church/Disciples of Christ in Bloomington; and a member of the Rotary Club, Sigma Delta Chi and Indiana University Alumni Association.

        Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Allen Funeral Home, 4155 N. Old State Road 37, Bloomington.

        Interment will be at Forest Lawn Cemetery, Shelbyville, following a private service.

        In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to First Christian Church/Disciples of Christ, the Community Kitchen or the Monroe County Humane Association.

        Esther Louise Gregg, 83, of Murphysboro, and formerly of Beardstown, died Tuesday, June 29, 2010, at her son's home in Murphysboro.

        She was born Oct. 8, 1926, in Brown County, the only daughter of Dean A. and Ora Keylor Kauder. She married Lloyd Gregg on June 15, 1947, in Mount Sterling, and he preceded her in death April 7, 1997.

        Surviving are three sons, Lawrence (wife, Paula) Gregg of Lincoln, Leonard (wife, Barbara) Gregg of Waverly and Lee Gregg of Murphysboro; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.

        Esther attended Mount Sterling schools and went on to Gem City Business College in Quincy and worked as a secretary until her marriage. She then worked as a stay-at-home mom raising her three children. Esther was a long-standing member of Union Baptist Church in Beardstown, serving as a Registered State Agent, church secretary, assistant treasurer, organist, Sunday school teacher and served on several church committees.

        The family will meet with friends from 5-7 p.m. Friday at Sager Funeral Home in Beardstown. Private family graveside services will be held. Memorials have been suggested to Cass/Schuyler Area Hospice.

     James (Jim) L. Griffith Jr. age 58, of Lewisville, Ohio died Monday October 25, 2010 at the Marietta Memorial Hospital Marietta, Ohio. He was born in Colver, Pennsylvania July 14, 1952 a son of James L. Griffith Sr. of Lafayette, Tennessee and the late Dorothy Smith Griffith.

     He was employed by T&K (Napa) Auto Parts at Caldwell, Ohio and was a member of the Masonic Lodge of Lafayette, Tennessee. Jim enjoyed his grandchildren, golfing, being outdoors, and his faithful companion Sakara, his dog.

     In addition to his father James L. Griffith Sr. of Lafayette, Tennessee he is survived by his children;  Heather (Titus) Cecil of Lewisville, Ohio, Adam (Kalli) Griffith of Ashland, Ohio, Joseph (Carly) Griffith of Coshocton, Ohio, and their mother Pam Ward Griffith.      Norman D. Groves, age 75, of Lewisville, Ohio died Wednesday October 20, 2010 at his home. He was born August 4, 1935 near Woodsfield, Ohio a son of the late Darrell Groves and Nellie Simeral Groves.

     He was a local mechanic for many years and a retired coal miner at Quarto no. 4. He was also an Army Veteran serving from 1958 to 1960.

     Norman is survived by his  wife, Dolly Gates Groves whom he married April 10, 1955, son Doug Groves of Woodsfield, daughter Tammy (Kevin) Groves of Lewisville, and one very special grandson Jesse of Woodsfield. Three brothers: Wade and Dean Groves of Woodsfield, and Bill Groves of Somerton, 2 sisters; Bonnie Gallagher of Barnesville, and Twila (Dick) Cline of Graysville. Several nieces, nephews and his beloved dog Buddy.

     There will be no visitation.

     In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by seven brothers: Edwin, John, Andrew, Martin, Eugene, Clem, and Tom Herrick; and two sisters: Beulah Estep and Lucille Herrick.

     Surviving are her husband, Charles K. Habig, who she married on July 4, 1953; three daughters: Dolores Habig of Canton, Ohio, Barbara (Mark) Williams of Woodsfield, Ohio, Mary Habig of Springfield, Vermont; six sons: Charles (Shirley) Habig of Malaga, Ohio, Daniel (Lisa) Habig of Wilson, Ohio, Bradley Habig of Lewisville, Ohio, Wendell (Missy) Habig of Bridgeport, Ohio, Bruce (Danyel) Habig of Woodsfield, Ohio, Karl Brent (Kay) Habig of Delmar, Delaware; one brother: Albert Herrick of New Martinsville, West Virginia; three sisters: Helena Baxter of New Martinsville, West Virginia, Rose Goddard of Proctor, West Virginia, Virginia Novel of Moundsville, West Virginia twenty-two grandchildren; six great grandchildren and two great grandchildren on the way.

     She was a member of the Pleasant Ridge Church of Christ. 

     Preceded in death by her husband of 69 years; Floyd E. Hall in 2008, one sister; Pearl Lindamood, and two brothers; Harold Ayers, and Carl Ayers.

     She is survived by two daughters; Betty (Willis) Anderson of Graysville, and Shirley Hall of Graysville,  one brother;  Melvin Ayers of Sycamore Valley, Ohio, two grandchildren; Eric Anderson of Maryland, and Stacy (Jerry) Bradford of Marietta, Ohio, and five great grandchildren; Ema and Ana Anderson, Isaac Anderson, Shallyn and Morgan Bradford.

        He was born August 28, 1938, to the late Richard N. Hall Sr. and Bernadene L. Stull Hall.

        Mr. Hall is survived by his wife, Carolyn "Sue" Voland Hall of Englewood; a son, Greg Hall of Pine, Colo.; a daughter, Jennifer Wehrle (husband: Steve) of Lafayette; one brother, Gerald Hall (wife: Susan) of Nashville; and a sister, Susan Lynn Smart (husband: Tim) of Greenwood.

          She was born February 13, 1940 in Barlow to Clarence “Toad” Kuhn and Iola “Debbie” Johnson Kuhn.  Violet had been employed at the Caldwell Senior Citizen’s Center.  Violet always enjoyed collecting angels and helping others. She will be greatly missed.

          Surviving is her loving friend Harry Hall with children Harry “George” Hall, Jr. (Linda) of Wingett Run, Merle “Oat” Hall (Sue) of Marietta, Larry Hall (April) Sarahville, OH, Laura Hall (Garnett Hill) of Ocala, FL, and Linda Starr (Sam) of Jefferson, OH.  Also surviving are 10 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.  Brothers Earl “Hank” Kuhn (Betty) of Marr, and Arlen Kuhn (Linda) of Barnesville and sisters Helen Mellott (Skip) of Bethesda and Connie Ruckman (Gene Rowe) of West Union, WV also survive.

          In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a brother Lonnie “Pud” Kuhn and sisters Rosemary Kuhn and Marjorie Hall.

          Funeral services will be held 10 am Tuesday June 1st at McClure-Schafer-Lankford Funeral Home with Pastor Gale Lauderman officiating.  Burial will follow in Creighton Ridge Cemetery.  Friends may call from 4 pm Sunday until the hour of service; family will greet friends from 4 to 8 on Sunday and 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 on Monday.

        GAS CITY -- Paula Jean Hamilton, 58, Gas City, died at 11:35 p.m. Friday in her residence.

        She was born in Huntington to the late Homer and Patricia (Ball) Pressler.

        Paula and Mick Hamilton were married on Nov. 21, 1970. He survives.

        She and her husband owned and operated Mick's Flea Market in Gas City. She was a very creative person who enjoyed making jewelry, doing needlework and working on family genealogy. Paula enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

        In addition to her husband, survivors include sons Adam (Melissa) Hamilton, Fishers, and Mark (Billie) Hamilton, Virginia Beach, Va.; grandchildren Steven, Kourtnee, Taylor, Cierra, Jacob, Kayla and Kyle; brothers John Pressler, Georgia, and David (Kris Sundberg) Pressler, Minn.; sisters Barb (Mike) Scott, W. Va., and Patty (Tim) Field, Minnesota; sister-in-law Nyla Purvis, Marion; and several nieces and nephews.

        In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her parents-in-law Harley and Audrey Hamilton, and brother-in-law Mike Hamilton.

Jerry (Opal Geraldine) Patterson Lee Harris

        Lebanon — Jerry (Opal Geraldine) Patterson Lee Harris gently transitioned to reunite with her Lord and waiting family & friends the evening of June 26, 2010, at Coventry Meadows in Fort Wayne.

        The fourth daughter of David Ray Patterson and Edith Erie Gillaspie, Jerry was born Nov. 29, 1918, near Nora in Marion County. She wed Charlie (Charles Ackerly) Lee, Sr., of Frankfort, Aug. 17, 1940. He passed Sept. 24, 1966. Together they created Chuck (Charles Ackerly) Lee, Jr. of St. Paul; Patty (Patricia Jane) Mrs. Larry Gill of Ft. Wayne and Sue Ann Lee of Denver. Surviving with her children are Jerry's delight (her grandsons): Chuck's sons, Dean and Dale Lee; Patty and Larry's sons, Craig, Tracy (Allen) and Jeremy Gill; Sue Ann's sons Jarrad Lee, Tyler and Grady Bass.

        On Aug. 29, 1970, she wed Hap (Harry Edgar) Harris who passed June 9, 1994. Hap's children who became her own are Jim (James Richard) Harris of Lakeland, Fla., and Bobbie (Roberta Lynn) Tandy of Indianapolis. Grands are Jim's children, Ed Browning, Dottie (Harris) Poole and Jim Harris Jr., and Bobbie's sons, Chadd and Marty Koehl.

        Also surviving are 18 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren; one sister, Marilou Ann Hoover, of Lebanon, many nieces, nephews and their extended families. Family has always been her joy and now she's just a thought away ... she must be absolutely giddy!

        Sisters in heaven are: Pansy Mavourene Patterson (b. April 10,1906 d. Sept. 12, 1912), Jake (Jessie Mae) Marsh (b. July 5, 1914 d. Oct. 22, 1982) and Pat (Laura Agnes) Barrick (b. March 23, 1917 d. Sept. 9, 2008).

        Raised in Boone County, Jerry attended school in Zionsville then graduated from Lebanon High School 1936. Jerry and Charlie raised their family in St. Paul, Ind. She and Hap began snowbirding in 1974 then moved to Largo, Fla., in 1990. In 2005, she returned to Indiana, joining Patty and Larry's home in Ft Wayne. A retiree of Intl Packings Corp. (Shelbyville), Jerry was a member of Aldersgate United Methodist Church and American Legion Auxiliary. Always in step with the times, Jerry kept in touch via e-mail and Facebook, was an avid reader and crossword puzzle fan. Above all she loved to dance.

        We who are left behind are filled with selfish sadness ... though comforted in knowing she is restored ... breathe freely, hear every whisper, see clearly, live joyfully, laugh heartily, love deeply and dance with abandon, Momma!      Joseph Wallace Hartline was born in 1931 to Joseph and Margaret Wallace Hartline of Cameron, Ohio. After a long and courageous battle with cancer he died in his home August 25th. 2010.

     He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Carolyn Brague Hartline. Together they had 5 children: Joe (Sarah), of Atlanta, Randy of Cameron, Diana (Fred) Wolf of Granville, Kerry (Mary) of Cameron, Mindy (Marvin) Cannon of Columbus. Joe also had 10 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren that he cherished greatly. He is also survived by his brother David (Hilde) of Marion, Ohio.

     Joe was a graduate of Woodsfield High School in 1949.

     He was a veteran of the United States Air Force. He was a retired employee of Ormet Corporation, having worked there for 34 years. Joe loved his life in Monroe County and the Ohio Valley. He served in many organizations, giving back his many blessings. He was a Past Master of Free and Accepted Masons, Clarington #597; 32nd. Degree Mason: Knight of the York Cross of Honor; Member of Order of Eastern Stars, Clarington, #533, Member of Clarington United Methodist Church; Township Clerk for 28 years; First President of Cameron PTA; Member of National Imperial Glass Collectors Society. Joe represented both hard work and a charitable heart. He will be missed greatly by his family and friends. “I have fought a good Fight. I have kept the faith.” II Timothy 4:7.

        Our precious Tonia J. Hashman, 30, of Byesville, Ohio died suddenly on Feb. 25, 2010 (Thursday) at SORMC in Cambridge, Ohio.

        She is survived by parents, Johnny and Grace Epling Coley, of Salesville, Ohio, and Joseph and Patty Hashman, of Kent, Ohio.

        Survivors include her parents, two brothers, William Hashman, of Kent, Ohio, and Jeremiah Hashman, stationed at Ft. Bliss, in El Paso, Texas; fiance, Mark Storey, of Byesville, Ohio, and three boys, Austin, Brett, and Caleb; grandparents, George and Katherine Epling, of Zanesville, Ohio, and Betty Hashman, of Kent, Ohio.

        Memorial service at 1:00 P.M. Tues. March 2, at Pine Lakes Lodge, Salesville Ohio.

        Nadine C. Hatfield, 91, of Smithville, died July 9, 2010 at her residence.

        She was born Aug. 24, 1918 at Pike, WV, the daughter of the late Brady and Lucretia Jameson Cronin.

        Nadine worked at Economy Industry, Harrisville and took care of children. She was a member of Hardman Chapel and Smithville Senior Citizens. She loved to make quilts and cook.

        She is survived by one son, William A. "Andy" Hatfield; sister, Hilda Cronin of Parkersburg; brothers, Wayne Cronin of Pike and Floyd Cronin of Harrisville; one grandson, Charles Thomas Hatfield; and two great grandchildren.

        Mrs. Hatfield was preceded in death by her husband, Sterling G. Hatfield; son Thomas Hatfield; brothers, Brady, Ralph and Clifford Cronin; and sisters Vivian Stanley, and Marcella* Nichols.

        Funeral services will be held at 1 PM, Tuesday, July 13, 2010 at Raiguel Funeral Home, Harrisville with Pastor Raymond Gumm officiating. Burial will follow in the Hardman Chapel Cemetery, Smithville.

Havelka, Alfred “Tater” Havelka

     Times Leader, Martins Ferry, Ohio, March 2, 2010

     Havelka, Alfred "Tater", 88, of Coshocton, Ohio, passed away on Monday morning, March 1, 2010, in Coshocton Hospital.

     He was born on October 9, 1921, in St. Joe, Ohio, the son of the late Louis and Catherine (Havlicek) Havelka.

     He was a Staff Sergeant in the U. S. Marine Corps during WW2, serving in Bougainville, Guam, and Iwo Jima. He also served in Washington D.C. as an honor guard at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. He retired from the Ormet Aluminum Corp. in Hannibal, Ohio after many years of service.

     Tater was a member of American Legion Post 52 Bellaire, Ohio, Disabled American Veterans Bellaire, and the Grace United Methodist Church in Coshocton, Ohio.

     On May 29, 1945, he married Marilyn Eleanor (Hays) Havelka, who survives, along with one son, Thomas (Sue) Havelka of Coshocton, grandson, Trevor (Nicole) Havelka , and granddaughter, Zedica Havelka both of Wilmington, and granddaughter, Havaleh Havelka of Misenheimer, one niece, and several nephews.

     Funeral services will be held in the Sanctuary of Grace United Methodist Church in Coshocton on Wednesday, March 3, 2010, at 11 a.m. with Rev. Craig Redecker officiating.

     The family will receive friends in the church parlor on Tuesday, March 2, 2010, from 6-8 p.m. and one hour prior to the funeral on Wednesday.

     A graveside service will take place in St. Clairsville, Ohio, at Belmont County Memorial Park, on Wednesday, March 3, 2010, at 2:30 p.m.

     Mary Eva Hayes, 94, of Quaker City, Ohio died March 12, 2010 at the Cambridge Health and Rehabilitation Center, Cambridge, Ohio.

     She was born February 29, 1916 near Calais, Ohio a daughter of the late John and Clara Ackerman Christman.

     Mary was a homemaker; loved to quilt and garden; was a member of the former Seneca Valley Church of Christ near Calais, Ohio and was a 1934 graduate of Calais High School.

     Surviving are two daughters: Marjorie (John) Ryan of Searcy, Arkansas and Brenda (Pimm) Hiller of Virginia Beach, Virginia; two sons: Carl (Carol) Hayes of Quaker City, Ohio and Tim (JoEllen) Hayes of Cambridge, Ohio; two sisters: Cleo Carpenter of Lewisville, Ohio and Helen Starr of Gahanna, Ohio; two sisters-in-law: Edna Truax of Caldwell, Ohio and Margaret Christman of Quaker City, Ohio; seven grandchildren; five great grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and cousins.

     In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, David Grant Hayes on March 30, 1997 whom she married November 11, 1937; a sister, Esta Burkhart; four brothers, Gilbert, Lee, Howard, Herbert Christman; an infant brother, Lester Vearl Christman; many sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law.

     Friends will be received at the Watters Funeral Home, 37501 State Route 78 West, Woodsfield, Ohio from 4-7 p.m. Tuesday, March 16, 2010 where funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 17, 2010 with John Ryan officiating.

H'Doubler, Francis Todd  H'Doubler, Jr.

        Francis Todd H'Doubler, Jr., MD, 85, Springfield, died at 7:45 a.m., Wednesday, November 24, 2010 in Ozark Riverview Manor, Ozark where he had resided for several months.

        He was born June 18, 1925 in Springfield, Missouri, the son of the late Francis Todd and Alice L. (Bemis) H'Doubler, Sr. He was also preceded in death by his first wife Joan, a sister, Alice H'Doubler and a brother, Charles H'Doubler, MD.

Dr. H'Doubler attended Greenwood from Kindergarten through 12th grade. He was president of his senior class and was a member of the football and track team. In December 1942, at the age of 17 he was able to graduate from high school a semester early to enlist in the Navy. When called to active duty in the Navy V-12 program in early 1943, he acquired the nickname "Hogan", derived from the original family name of Hougendoubler. Hogan was assigned to the V-12 training program at Miami University, Oxford Ohio and eventually attended Medical School at the University of Wisconsin in Madison where he received his medical degree.

        Although he received an honorable discharge from the service at the conclusion of WWII, he reenlisted in the Navy as a Lt. J.G. in the Medical Corps. When the Korean Conflict broke out, he volunteered to serve with the Fleet Marines. As a member of the 1st Marine Provisional Brigade, while treating a wounded Marine he received multiple gunshot wounds necessitating his evacuation from Korea. Because of these injuries he received a Purple Heart with an Oak Leaf Cluster and a Bronze Star. He convalesced at the U.S. Naval Hospital in Oakland, CA and later joined the surgical staff there. Upon discharge from the service, he returned to Springfield to join his father in a practice specializing in surgery. He pioneered Nuclear Medicine in the Ozarks. During the final 25 years of his 53-year medical career, he became active in the practice of Alternative Medicine and performed acupuncture for pain management treatment.

        Dr. H'Doubler enjoyed an active medical practice and had a wonderful relationship with his patients. He belonged to many professional organizations including the AMA, Missouri State Medical Society, Greene County Medical Society, American Thyroid Society and the American Academy of Alternative Medicine of which he served as president in 1985. Through efforts of the Greene County "Singing Doctors," Hogan and his peers raised half a million dollars for medical school scholarships that continues to support medical students from the Ozarks today. The Singing Doctors performed over a 35-year span and Hogan is best remembered for his musical contribution of playing the ukulele and spoons.

Beyond involvement with activities involving the medical community, Dr. H'Doubler was active in a number of civic affairs. He served as President of the Jaycees and received the award for the local Outstanding Young Man of the Year and the Distinguished Service Award from the Missouri Jaycees in 1959. He served on the steering committee to establish Wilson's Creek Battlefield Park as it was dedicated in 1961. He served on the YMCA board and was chair of a major fund raising drive, served as chair of the board for Coty College and also served as chair of the Kitchen Alternative Medicine Clinic during the 1990's. Always active and interested in politics, he served as a committeeman and chair of the Greene County Republican Central Committee for several years. He was a 33̊ mason, member of the order of Constantine, served as Potentate of Abou Ben Adhem Temple in 1968 and was Imperial Potentate of the Shrine of North America in 1980-81. He was also a trustee for the Shriner's Hospitals. Through his association with the Shrine and the medical profession he enjoyed traveling to many interesting places around the world.

        He was awarded the National Distinguished Alumni Award and the Legion of Honor from Sigma Nu Fraternity in 1980 and was honored with the Outstanding Alumni Award from Greenwood in 1996. Hogan enjoyed golf, handball and hunting at his ranch and was a long time member of Hickory Hills Country Club.

        Hogan loved his family and fellow man and enjoyed a full and useful life. He strongly believed the Ozarks was the best place in the world to live, practice medicine and raise his family. The family is appreciative of the personal care provided to Hogan and Marie by the staff at Riverview Residential the staff of Riverview Manor in Ozark, and Drs. Lee Godwin, Scott Duff, Rodney Quinn and Randy Halley.

        He is survived by his wife, Marie; two daughters; Julie Thomas and husband Brad, Highlandville; Sarah Muegge and husband Dave, Springfield; two sons, Kurt H'Doubler and wife Mary Anne, Springfield; and Scott H'Doubler, Marietta, GA; a sister, Louise Nagle, Piedmont, CA; a brother, Peter H'Doubler, MD, Springfield; two grandsons, Brian Muegge and his wife Caroline; and Todd H'Doubler; four granddaughters, Becky and Laurie Thomas, Beth Muegge, and Sally H'Doubler, numerous nieces and nephews and many good friends.

        A special gathering of family and friends will be held from 1 - 3 p.m., with Masonic services following at 3 p.m., on Sunday, November 28, 2010 in J.D. Lee and Sons Funeral Home, Rogersville.

 

Headley, Raymond Mitchel "Mick” Headley

     Raymond Mitchel "Mick" Headley, 66, of Beallsville died Friday, March 26 in Wheeling Medical Park Hospital.  

     He was born November 9, 1943 in Beallsville, a son of the late Raymond "Dutch" and Ruth Polen Headley. 

     He was owner of Headley Excavating and also was a retired employee of R & F Coal.  

     Mick was a member of Sunsbury Lodge #362, Beallsville Chapter #24 OES, Scottish Rite Valley of Cambridge, Cambridge Commandry #47, Retired Racers of the Tri-State Area, and the Beallsville VFD.  He was a retired dirt track driver and he still holds the track record at "Wheels Speedway." 

     Surviving are his wife of 45 years, Peggy Mayberry Headley; a son, Jay (Pam) Headley of Lebanon and a daughter, Dena (Loren) Ricer of Belmont; two sisters, Shirley (Carl) Gilbow of Tallmadge and Mary Lou Snider of Akron; four grandchildren, Adam and Andrew Headley and Raegan and Logan Ricer; several nieces and nephews, including Don (Ruth) Headley of Beallsville; also his extended family, the Datkuliaks.    

     In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Carlos Headley, a brother-in-law, David Snider and a sister-in-law, Eileen Doudna.    

     Visitation will be Tuesday from 4 to 8 PM at the Harper Funeral Home, Beallsville and Wednesday from 9 AM until the time of the funeral service at noon with Wayne Clark officiating. 

     Interment will follow in Beallsville Cemetery.  

     Masonic services will be conducted at 7:45 PM Tuesday at the funeral home to be followed by Eastern Star services.

        Anabel Heckman, age 92, of Toledo, passed away on Monday, August 23, 2010 in her home. Anabel was born in Mt. Blanchard, Ohio on May 5, 1918 to George and Ida Mae (Newhart) Ghaster. She worked for the Auto Lite Co. and retired from Toledo Public Schools. She enjoyed many winters as a snowbird traveling to Florida and often traveled to Northern Michigan in the Fall. She loved shopping at thrift shops and antique malls, rides in the country and was very generous to people in need. She always loved a good bargain. She also served many years as a Sunday School Teacher and Goodnews Clubs Phenomenal mother who loved all her children, grandchildren and great-grand-children.

        Surviving are her sons, Skip Heckman, Virgil Heckman Jr.; daughter-in-laws, Deb Simpson, Darlene Heckman; grandchildren, Robert (Jenny) Heckman, Lance (Angie) Heckman, Terry Heckman, Amanda Houck, great-grandchildren, Samantha Cuellar, Abigail and Sydney Houck, Jamie Heckman, Zack Heckman, Lance Michael Heckman, and Samantha Hawkins. She was preceded in death by her husband, Virgil Heckman; son, Gerald Heckman; daughter, Sharon Whitehill and 9 brothers and sisters.

        Robert K. “Bobby” Heffner, 81, of Shelbyville, Indiana, formerly of Lyons, died Tuesday, March 30, 2010 at Bloomington Hospital in Bloomington, Indiana. He was the husband of the late Barbara (Pope) Heffner.

        Born in Kutztown he was a son of the late Samuel R. and Ellen E. (Kline) Heffner. He was a U.S. Army veteran. He was the owner and operator of Marathon Service Station, Shelbyville, IN., for over 40 years. Bobby was an avid gardener.

        He is survived by Sons, Robert J. Heffner, Bloomington, IN., and David Heffner, Greenwood, IN; Sisters, Rebecca K. Heffner, Kutztown, Mary K. Adam, Kutztown, Nettie K. Herman, Kutztown; Brother, Harold K. Heffner, Leesport. He is also survived by 9 Grandchildren and several Great-Grandchildren. Bobby was predeceased by Sisters, Anna M. Reppert and Cora M. Fitzgerald, and Brothers, Howard S. Heffner and Jerry K. Heffner.

Heft, Ethel Heft nee Cree

     Ethel Heft passed away on May 30, 2010 at Altercare of Hilliard.

     She was born September 19, 1918 in Monroe County, daughter of the late Charles and Nellie Orange Cree.

     Ethel lived in Woodsfield, Ohio for most of her life and recently was a resident of Dublin Retirement Village in Dublin, Ohio to be near her family.

     She was married June 5, 1938 to her beloved husband, Stanley J. Heft who preceded her in death in November 2006. Brothers Dale and Myron Cree and sisters Neva Smith, Wilma King, and Waveline Hartshorn also preceded her in death.

     She is survived by daughter, Carol (Richard) Schumacher, and son, Stephen (Joyce) Heft, four grandchildren: Rick (Lori) Schumacher, Stephen (Erin) Schumacher, Sarah Schumacher Kurz, Bryan (Lauren) Heft and seven great-grandchildren: Nicole, Jason, Nicholas & Elizabeth Schumacher, Davis and Mary Grace Kurz, and Caroline Heft. Ethel is also survived by her sister Eva Zerger, many nieces and nephews.

     Ethel was a member of St. Paul’s United Church of Christ for more than sixty years. In 1945 she was initiated into Woodsfield Chapter #268 O.E.S. and served six terms as Worthy Matron. In 1982 she was appointed Grand Representative of Mississippi in Ohio. She served as President of District #15 in 1992 and in 1998 she was elected to the Buckeye Links consisting of all Grand Representatives in the State of Ohio. She is a member of The Ambassadors of Good Will (all Grand Representatives of District 15), Pythian Sisters #199 and was a member of the Woodsfield Garden Club and The Stitch & Chatter Club for several years.

     She also volunteered at the Barnesville Hospital for many years. Ethel was a very giving and loving mother, grandmother and friend and will be sorely missed by all who knew her. She had a passion for flowers and gardening, and shared her beautiful roses with anyone who needed a lift. Her friends and family often referred to her as “Mrs. Hallmark” because of her self-chosen dedicated commitment to remembering friends and family on all occasions with cards and notes.

     She loved and was loved by her family and friends and had a genuine compassion for anyone in need.

     Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday, June 4 at the Bauer and Turner Funeral Home, 100 S. Paul St. Woodsfield, Ohio.

     Eastern Star services will be at 8:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. A calling hour will be observed one hour prior to the funeral service.

     Albert “Butch” Heil, Jr., 92, of 47629 S.R. 26, Beallsville, Ohio died Tuesday, November 2, 2010 at his home. He was born at Bellaire, Ohio on December 26, 1917 a son of the late Albert Sr. and Lena Carman Heil.

     Albert was a former iron worker and family meat cutter. He was also a retired mail carrier in Bellaire, Ohio. He was a member of the St. Paul’s United Church of Christ, Woodsfield, Ohio, a U.S. Army veteran of W.W.II, past master of the Bellaire Lodge #438 F.&A.M. Bellaire, Ohio and a sixty-five year member of Monroe Lodge #189, Woodsfield, Ohio where he served as a past chaplain and educational officer.

     In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Eileen Elizabeth McLoud Heil on September 5, 2001; two sons: Michael Lee Heil and Philip Albert Heil; and four brothers: Henry, Carman, Lewis and Harry Heil.

Henneck, Dorthy Fay Henneck, nee Briggs

        Dorthy Fay Henneck, 95, of Greeley, CO died, Sunday, December 5, 2010 at Life Care Center of Greeley.

        She was born December 12, 1914 in Bristol, CO to Robert and Eva (Christman) Briggs.

        Around 1929 she and her family moved east of Greeley where she began working for an elderly couple as a housekeeper. On February 3, 1938 she married Christian Henneck in Greeley. After their marriage they moved to Ault, CO where they farmed until 1964 and retired in Eaton, CO.

        Fay was an active member in Community Club for the Wyatt School. She enjoyed going to her grandchildren’s sporting events and was heavily involved in the Eaton Senior Center. She loved reading and was an avid Colorado Rockies and Colorado Avalanche fan. Fay loved going out to eat and spending time with her family. She was the world’s greatest mother-in-law and was also proud of being in campfire girls.

        Fay is survived by her daughters, Dorothy Blehm of Evans, CO, Vicky (Don) Smith of Greeley, Barb (Jim) Kent of LaSalle, CO, Gail (Mike) Sullivan and Donna (Mike) Newton all of Greeley; her son, Ron (Karen) Henneck of Casper, WY; a sister, Opal Briggs of CA; grandchildren, Shane (Julie) Blehm, Kim (Kryse) Kingston, Tammie (Shane) Stephenson, Jennifer (Jeff) Kurtz, Bob Smith, Kurt Smith, Don (Becky) Smith, Jr., Doug (Kim) Smith, Kurt Smith, Natalie (Andy) Idzik, Chad (Jolyn) Henneck, Jason (Jennifer) Sullivan, Jennae (Chris) Liberty, Stephanie (Bryan Stinson) Newton; 33 great grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren.      Dale Eugene Henthorn, 61, Wadsworth, formerly of Lewisville, died Jan. 11, 2010 at Wadsworth Hospital. He was born June 18, 1948, a son of the late Everett Henthorn (1986) and Alberta Morris Henthorn (1957).

     Surviving are two sisters, Bonnie Grandstaff of Woodsfield, Linda Broemsen of Beallsville; a brother, Vernon Henthorn of Ravenna; five nieces, Rhonda of Canton, Eva of Woodsfield, Alberta, Lovisa of Beallsville, Charlotte of Jerusalem; a nephew, Charles “Chuckie” of Jerusalem; ; six grand-nieces, Adrianna (Nana), Sandy, Joy, Angel, Nevach, Gosalynn; and four great-nephews, Austin, Keith, Brandon, Bradley.

     In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Larry Henthorn (1956).

     Memorial services will be held Jan. 23, at 1 p.m. at Beallsville Church of Christ on SR 145 with Jeff Rich officiating.

        ELLSWORTH - Faye A. Herlan, 80, died May 14, 2010, in Ellsworth. She was born Dec. 14, 1929, in Ellsworth Co. to Lucina and Gerhardt Schultz. She was a retired nurse's aide at the Ellsworth Hospital and a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, Ellsworth.

        Survivors include: sons; Danne and his wife, Kyla, Fellsmere, Fla., Larry and his wife, Crystal, Melbourne, Fla., Kevin and Daren, both of Ellsworth, and Kerry, Rapid City, S.D.; her daughter, Lori Herlan, Ellsworth; brothers, Willis Schultz, Ellsworth, and Donald Schultz, Topeka; sisters, Hazel Bruning, Ellsworth, and Gloria Krob, Ft. Collins, Colo.; grandchildren, Brent, Katrina, Kyle, Mandi, Abby, Cody, Mikylee and Kinder; and great-grandchildren, Brianna, Cameron and Kaden.

        Visitation will be Monday 1 to 8 p.m., with the family present from 6 to 8 p.m. at Parsons Funeral Home. Heskett, Marcella Pearl Heskett, nee Van Dyne

        Marcella Pearl Heskett was born on July 31, 1913, daughter of Etta and Harry Van Dyne of Barnesville, Ohio. She was the granddaughter of John Van Dyne the Chief of Police. She died
Saturday, May 8th peacefully in her home.
        After high school she married James Alvin Heskett of Bethesda, Ohio and followed him in the Navy from 1943 through 1955. At one time Marcy recounted that she had moved into more than 40 houses in Ohio, Massachusetts, New Jersey, Coronado, California and then Los Angeles, Atlanta, Virginia, Hawaii and then settled in Los Altos for the last 50 years.
        She is survived by five children, Sylbert of Chicago, Judi Johnson of Fairfield, Marcia of Los Altos, Curtis of Danville, James of Los Altos; there are nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Marcy was widowed for nearly twenty years. She enjoyed bowling with friends until her late 80's and drove a car
until she was 90. In fact she had driven across the country on her own at least 15 times.

          Marcy died just a few months short of her 97th Birthday.
        Burial was Friday, May 14th, 2010 at Alta Mesa Memorial Park, Palo Alto, CA. Arrangements entrusted to Spangler Mortuary, Los Altos, Calif.

 

Heslep, Max Robert Heslep

        Max Robert Heslep, 76, of Flagler Beach, Fla., and formerly of Point Pleasant, passed away Thursday, February 11, 2010.

        He was born December 19, 1933 in Hannibal, Ohio to the late Wilbur B. and Mabel Heslep (Harrison). Max served in the United States Army from 1954 to 1956. During his years in Point Pleasant, he was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, the Rotary Club, Masons Minturn Lodge #19, and he served as Cub Master with the Boy Scouts of America and President of the Pat Wilson Shrine Club. Max worked at Kaiser Aluminum and in the construction of Project 1301 (Mountaineer Power Plant). He was also the owner of Mid-Town Market.

        Max is preceded in death by his brother, George Heslep.

        He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Eva (Kirkland) Heslep; sons, Dan of Jacksonville, Fla., and Jay and his wife, Vivian of Helena, Mont.; daughters, Jill and her husband, Max Knopp of Lake Wales, Fla., and Debby Heslep of Jacksonville, Fla.; 12 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren; Leanne Braid McDonald of Sydney, Australia, (his rotary exchange daughter); brothers, Wilbur Heslep of Clarington, Ohio, John Heslep of Clarington, Ohio, and Jerry Heslep of Parkersburg.

        Max and Eva retired in Flagler Beach, Fla. where they enjoyed fishing, friends, and travel.

        Max will be greatly missed by family and friends who love him. He was and is a blessing in our lives.

        A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m., Thursday, February 18, at the Surfside Estates Club House, located at 2847 A1A, Flagler Beach, Fla.

     Luzetta P. “Zetta” Hill, 89, of Harmar Place, Marietta, Ohio (formerly of New Matamoras, Ohio) died Friday, December 31, 2010 at the Marietta Memorial Hospital, Marietta, Ohio. She was born near Rinard Mills, Ohio on May 6, 1921, a daughter of the late James Tony Scott and Matilda “Tillie” Graham Scott.

     She was a homemaker and a member of the Brownsville Church of Christ, Brownsville, Ohio. She was a great mother-in-law who enjoyed helping others, gardening, baking cookies, her Christian ministers who visited regularly at the Harmar Place, and her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

     In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Wiley Hill on September 15, 1992, three sisters: Beryl Lisk, Janet Griffin, Donna May Dougherty, and two brothers: Ralph Scott and Chauncey Scott.

     Surviving are two daughters: Clarice (Larry) Byers of Newport, Ohio, Kathy (Fred) Martino of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, one brother, John Scott of Alliance, Ohio, four grandchildren: Lanny (Lisa) Byers, Tammy (Michael) Stern, Fred (Jill) Martino, Christopher Martino, and five great grandchildren: Stephen, Logan, and Landon Byers, Addison and Paxton Stern.

     Paul E. Hinderlong, 84, of 209 Ohio Street, Woodsfield, Ohio died Friday, July 2, 2010 at Woodsfield Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Woodsfield, Ohio. He was born near Lewisville, Ohio on April 11, 1926 a son of the late James and Josephine Neuhart Hinderlong.

     He was a 1944 graduate of the Lewisville High School, Lewisville, Ohio with honors in F.F.A., American Farmers Degree and State Farmers Degree.

     Paul was a retired farmer and was a former school bus driver and courier for the Switzerland of Ohio School District.

     He was involved in many civic organizations including 4-H Leadership Committee, Monroe County Farm Bureau, former member and president on the Policy Development Board where he was a state delegate for 60 years, a life-long member of the Trinity United Church of Christ near Lewisville, Ohio where he served on the church council; served 25 years on the board of the Monroe County Health Department, helped to obtain grant money for the building of the Monroe County Clinic, member of the Rolling Hills Ruritan Club, served as a member and past president of the Monroe County Planning Commission, served on the Monroe County C.I.C. committee, 30 year board member of the Rolling Hills Landmark, member and past president of the O.A.P.S.E. Chapter 41 on the consolidation of the Switzerland of Ohio School District. Paul enjoyed farming and watching newborn calves romping in the pastures.

     He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Ann Garrett Hinderlong of the home; one sister: Ruth Hinderlong of Barnesville, Ohio; four step-children: Jo Ann (Dwight) Brannon, Rebecca (Carey) Bott, Monica (Bill) Long, and Charles (Kay) Brooks all of Woodsfield, Ohio; seven grandchildren; five great grandchildren; and many cousins.

     Friends will be received at the Watters Funeral Home, Woodsfield, Ohio from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Sunday where funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday with Reverend Richard Wilson and Reverend Karen Binford officiating.

     Burial will follow in the Middle Church Cemetery near Lewisville, Ohio.

 

Hise, Donald L. “Rocky” Hise

     Donald L. “Rocky” Hise, 77, of 11 Jackie Franks Rd., Smithfield, PA (formerly of Woodsfield, Ohio and Tavares, FL) died Friday at his home. He was born at East Alton, Illinois on March 2, 1933 a son of the late Roy and Protha Bennett Hise.

     He was a former Florida state trooper and was the general superintendent during the construction of Walt Disney World, Orlando, Florida. He was also a retired owner of Hise Motors and United Country Real Estate both of Woodsfield, Ohio and was a U.S. honorably decorated Air Force veteran of the Korean War.

     In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Rosemary Pashley Hise on February 23, 2004.

     Surviving are his wife, Sandra Bartoni Hise of the home; one son, Joseph B. (Della) Hise Sr. of Woodsfield, Ohio; one sister, Madge Madison of Crossville, TN; former son-in-law, Donnie Gump of Wallace, West Virginia; four grandsons: Joseph Hise Jr. of Woodsfield, Ohio, Ohio State Trooper, Rocky John Hise of St. Clairsville, Ohio, Joshua B. Hise of Moundsville, West Virginia, Beau Gump of Wallace, West Virginia; and several nieces and nephews.

     Friends will be received at the Watters Funeral Home, Woodsfield, Ohio from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday where funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Monday with Rev. David Edwards officiating.

     Burial will follow in the Oaklawn Cemetery, Woodsfield, Ohio with full military graveside services.

        SCOTT, Ohio - Cloyd Richard Hockenberry, 79, of Scott, died at 3:30 p.m. Thursday, July 22, 2010, at Country Inn Living Center, Paulding, Ohio.

        He was born Aug. 24, 1930, in Scott, to the late Leslie Pearl Hockenberry and Alta Faye (Adams), who survives of Pleasant Lake, Ind. On Aug. 15, 1954, he married Janet Lou (Mohr). She survives at Country Inn, Latty, P.O. Box 112.

        Other survivors include a daughter: Jill (Jeff) Allen of Pacifica, Calif.; two sons: Jack (Marjorie) Hockenberry of Shelby Township, Mich., and Les (Lori) Hockenberry of Haviland; a sister, Connie Kaufman of Pleasant Lake, Ind.; his grandchildren: Caleb (Tifanie) Kreischer, Matt Owen (Anne) Hockenberry, Scott, Kylie, Kent, Aaron and Kacee Hockenberry, and a great-grandchild: Jaxon Kreischer.

        He was preceded in death by a brother: Charles Hockenberry.

        He began as a farmer and was long time appliance serviceman for Mohr's of Scott. He attended Mt. Pleasant Church and was a member of Calvary Evangelical Church. He was a 1948 graduate of Haviland-Scott High School, a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War and a volunteer fireman for Scott Fire Department.

        Services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, July 25, 2010, at Mount Pleasant Church, 3606 Slane Road, Van Wert, Ohio. The Rev. Bill Barnett of Mount Pleasant will officiate. Burial will be in Scott Cemetery, Scott. Military rites at the cemetery will be provided by the honor guard of V.F.W. Post 2873, Grover Hill.

        Calling hours are 1 - 5 p.m. Saturday, July 24, 2010, and one hour prior to services Sunday at the church.

     She was born October 10, 1920 in Duffy, a daughter of the late George Martin and Stella Mae Lively Frye.

     She was a member of the Duffy Church of Christ.

     In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Robert "Bob" Hollenbeck, five sisters and two brothers.

     Emil was a retired factory worker at Cardex, Reno, Ohio; a U.S. Army Korean Conflict veteran; a member of St. Ann’s Episcopal Church, New Martinsville; Life Member of the VFW Post #5108, Marietta, Ohio.

     In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Dean Hughes Holtsclaw.

        Kenneth L. Hoops, 55, La Porte, passed away peacefully at 1:15 p.m. Thursday (Aug. 12, 2010) at La Porte Hospital.

        Mr. Hoops was born Dec. 28, 1954, in La Porte to Gilbert Lee and Marie (McCall) Hoops.

        Kenneth worked for Howmet/Alcoa for more than 25 years. He loved his family and spending time with his grandchildren.

        Survivors include his father, Gilbert Lee Hoops, La Porte; his mother, Marie Hoops, Highland, Texas; a son, David B.      She was born August 7, 1928 in Sardis, a daughter of the late Fred and Eva Mae “Kate” Hayes Jones.

     Betty was as member of Mount Olive United Methodist Church in Sardis, where she served as pianist and custodian for over 40 years. She was a member of the Fountain of Life radio broadcast for 21 years; and a Sunday School and Bible School teacher.

     In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Sterling Hinderlong; her second husband, Anthony Howell; a son-in-law, Steven Goddard; four brothers, Harris, Harold, Wilbur “Cub”, and Darrell Jones; and a sister, Dorothy Frieden.

     Survivors include two daughters, Sheila Clark of Sardis and Lisa Goddard of Clarington, Ohio; two brothers, Dale (Norma) Jones of Ravenna, Ohio and Donald (Lila) Jones of Clarington; two sisters, Alberta (Lester) Lohri of Antioch, Ohio and Delores (Larry) Romick of Sardis; a grandson, Casey Clark; three granddaughters, Stephanie Thompson, Lindsey Goddard and Mackenzi Goddard; and two great grandsons, Jesse Goddard and Jacob Goddard.

     Pat was the founder and former owner of Pat’s Gift Shop of Woodsfield, member of the First United Methodist Church of Woodsfield, member of the Pythian Sisters, and Eastern Star.

     Preceded in death by her husband; Richard M. Howell – 2000, an infant daughter; Debra Kay Howell, sister; Lois Lee Iberg and her son-in-law; James Stephen Barnes.

     She is survived by 3 daughters; Dixie (Max) Fliehman of Woodsfield, Patti (Mark) Haralson of Woodsfield, and Sandra Barnes of Woodsfield, 4 grandchildren; Melanie (Troy) Kemp, Sarah (Nick) South, Cole Haralson, and Daniel Haralson, and 7 great grandchildren.

     Joe was retired from Ameritech. He was a member of the Batesville Sportsmans Club, the Knights of Columbus and the Telephone Pioneers. In 1980, he was inducted into the Noble County Basketball Hall of Fame. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and everything outdoors. An amazing cook, he loved to entertain friends and family.

     In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister - Shelva Gibbons; grandparents - Herbert and Marie Landefeld and Rose and Joe Hughes; father-in-law - Wayne Brown and brother-in-law - Dale Bishop.S

     Dorothy Elisabeth “Dottie” Elliott-Hunley, age 36, of Celina, Ohio peacefully passed away February 3, 2010 at Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton, Ohio after battling stage 4 brain cancer and ten ongoing surgeries over a period of three years.

     She was born May 11, 1973 in Bellaire, Ohio the only daughter of Roger L. and Tona Jo White-Elliott.

     Dorothy a former resident of Woodsfield was licensed in 1991 and worked locally as a cosmetologist while attending Belmont Technical College. In Celina, Ohio Dorothy worked as a manager at multiple beauty shops. Later she owned her own salon while pursuing a degree in Education at Wright State University.

     She is preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, William L. and Dorothy Ricer-White, and paternal grandparents, Vernon “Homie” and Lucille Denbow-Elliott.

        Dorothy Jean Hunsinger, 83, of Rushville, died Feb. 4, 2010.

        Born May 14, 1926, she was the daughter of Howard and Roxie (Fishback) Kinnett, both deceased. She married Max Hunsinger July 20, 1947; he preceded her in death Sept. 19, 2000.

        Mrs. Hunsinger was a 1944 graduate of Milroy High School. She was a member of Milroy Christian Church and Richland Wide Awake Club.

        Survivors include cousins, Mary Norwald [sic–Narwold] of Greensburg, Gladys Fussner of Milroy, Ethel Fisher of Connersville and Glenn Wiley of Milroy.

        Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Burns Funeral Home in Milroy with the Rev. Ron Simbro officiating. Burial will follow in Milroy's East Brook Cemetery. Friends may call from 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

     HUPP, Amy M., 80, of Woodsfield, died Saturday, November 6, 2010 at her home, surrounded by her loving family. She was born December 24, 1929, in Woodsfield, a daughter of the late Richard H. and Adda L. Christman Masters.

     She was a 1947 graduate of Woodsfield High School. She retired as the secretary for the Mayor, Village of Woodsfield after 23 years of service and attended the Christian Church of Woodsfield.

     Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Patricia Ellen Dierkes, who died September 16, 2007.

     Surviving are her loving husband of 61 years, Don L. Hupp, whom she married May 7, 1949, of the home; a son, Richard (Jaque) Hupp of Woodsfield; a daughter, Donna (Allan) Moore of Massillon; a son-in-law, Ty J. (Erin) Dierkes of Zanesville; Amy leaves a lasting legacy to cherish her memory; her seven grandchildren, Andy, Arika (Dave), Jodi, Jesse, Cody, Natasha & J.D.; and two great grandchildren, Brady and Luke.

age 54, of Upland, went home to be with the Lord on May 11, 2010. He was born in Culver City, and grew up in Redondo Beach, where he graduated from Redondo Beach High School. He attended Humbolt State University. Scott worked for 35 years in the Aerospace and Composites Indust ry, and was Vice President of Quality Assurance. A talented jazz and blues drummer who played at many venues throughout southern California, he was also a member of and volunteer for the Los Angeles Jazz Society, (LAJS) and California Jazz Arts Society, (CalJAS). He was able to use his talent for the Lord when he began playing his drums on the worship team at the church where he had been a member, La Verne Heights Presbyterian Church. Scott loved to travel with his wife, Lori. They took many vacations together. Attending concerts, camping, hiking and snow skiing were some of his favorite activities, but he particularly loved to swim & play water sports. He loved playing and walking with his dogs. Scott is survived by his wife, Lori Bayes-Ickes, and four stepchildren: Kristen Rosen, Daniel Flores, Amber Flores, and Justin Bayes; his mother and stepfather Betty and Bruce Ickes; his stepmother Marilyn Kurtzman; a brother and two sisters, Rob Kurtzman, Dana Kurtzman-Vafiades and Chris Fisher; three grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews. A celebration honoring Scott's life will be held on Thursday, May 20, 2010, at 12:00 noon, La Verne Heights Presbyterian Church, 1040 Baseline Road, La Verne, California.      She was a Baptist by faith.

     Dolly was preceded in death by her father, Charles Livingston; her husband, Michael E. Irvin; and a brother, Sonny Livingston.

     Survivors include her mother, Hazel Heddleston Livingston of Sistersville, WV; a son, Michael (Deanne) Irvin of New Matamoras, Ohio; two daughters, Shelly (Dean) Wohnhas and Joannie (James) Wells, both of Sardis; two brothers, Kenny (Becky) Livingston of Sistersville and Greg (Becky) Livingston of New Martinsville; eleven grandchildren, BreAnne (Joe) Nixon, Travis Wells, Lexy Wells, Ariel Wells, Danielle Irvin, Jared Irvin, Mandy Wohnhas, Megan Wohnhas, Skylar Wohnhas, Michael Wohnhas and Alex Pyles; and one great grandson, Ashton King, and great grandson to be, Bryce Chandler Nixon.

        His memory lives on with his wife of 62 years, Margaret J. Jackson, his two daughters, Fran M. Miller (Frank) and JoAnn  L. Hall (Marty), grandchildren Dr. Mollie Miller, (Lisa), Travis Walter Mahorney, Luke Jackson Miller, great grandson Dhonn Miller, sister, Marjorie Moyer, and several nieces and nephews.

        Walter is preceded in death by his parents, Jesse and Beatrice Jackson, six brothers, and three sisters.

        Walt was a Colorado Native and lived here all his life. He graduated from Colorado Springs High School, and then joined The Navy, from which he was Honorably Discharged. He met the love of his life, Margaret, and they married in 1948.

        Walt learned the plumbing and heating trade from his father, and worked with him and many of his brothers. He became a master plumber and started his own business. He tried to retire many times, but his many loyal customers just couldn't do without him.

        While working extremely hard for his family, Walt joined the Pikes Peak #143 Fraternal Order of Eagles. He worked his way to the top, holding many offices. He was a Past President, Past State President, Past Four Corners Regional President, Aerie and Auxiliary Father many times, and a recipient of the Grand Aerie Hall of Fame Award, and many, many other awards. In the 1960's, He started the Colorado State Scholarship Fund, and it is still going strong.

        He is known for his wisdom, guidance, and Ritual work through the Eagles, locally, statewide, and through The Grand Aerie. He made scores of wonderful friends throughout the Eagles.

        When he wasn't working or involved in activities for the Eagles, Walt loved being in the mountains and The Great Outdoors. He, with his family and friends, especially enjoyed Blue Mesa and Taylor, where he would wear his favorite yellow hat and reel in lots of trout. He always caught the first, the biggest, or the most fish. Or at least he tried to convince everyone.

        In his younger days, he enjoyed hunting elk, deer, pheasants, and maybe even a rabbit or two.

        When not able to be outside, Walt was the best arm chair coach for the Denver Broncos, The Nuggets, and The Rockies, and he was a great athlete in high school.  Walt was a very serious man when taking care of business and his family, but he was also known for his big, warm heart, and fantastic sense of humor.

        In everyday life, Walt brought laughter and a little bit of humor to everyone he was around.

        In lieu of flowers, the family requested donations be made to the Colorado State Eagle's Auxiliary Parkinson's Fund.

        Viewing will be June 20, 2010, from 2pm-5pm, at 3825 Airport Road.

        Service will be held June 21, 2010 at 11am, 3825 Airport Road.

     Mildred was a Christian by faith.

     She was born in Grgar, Nova Gorica, Italy on June 9, 1923 a daughter of the late Frank and Maria Ana Sirok Miljavec.

     Carmen was a former employee at the former L.G.A.M., Woodsfield, Ohio and a longtime member of the First Baptist Church, Woodsfield, Ohio.

     She was a loving Wife, Mother, Grandmother and Great Grandmother.

     In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Frank and Michael Miljavec; one sister, Maria Miljavec.

     Floyd D. Jones, age 91, of Cameron, Ohio died Sunday December 12, 2010 at the Wetzel County Hospital New Martinsville, West Virginia.  He was born in Cameron, Ohio June 17, 1919 a son of the late Lynn & Susie Monahan Jones.

     Floyd was an Electrician and member of the IBEW Union of Marietta.  He was a member of the Cameron Church of Christ, and the Monroe County Senior Citizens. Floyd was a musician and played with numerous local musicians over the years and had played for the Senior Citizens throughout the county.

     Preceded in death by his wife; Ruth Catherine Twinem Jones, an infant son, a son; Tom Jones, sisters; Shirley Jones Fisher, Janice Jones Lohr, Norma Jones Watkins, and brothers; Gerald Jones and Richard Jones.

        She is survived by three sons, Ronald, Stephen, and Timothy Kehoe; two daughters, Deborah Fulk and Linda McClellan. Barbara is also survived by 11 grand children; 20 great-grand children and one great-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her son, Thomas and three brothers.

     Jack D. Keylor, age 66, of Woodsfield, Ohio passed away suddenly on November 27, 2010. He was born on April 25, 1944, the son of Florence Miller Keylor of Woodsfield the late Harold “Cricket” Keylor.

     Jack was an active member of St. Sylvester Catholic Church and faith community. He was employed by Murray Trucking as a terminal manager in New Martinsville, WV, as well as the Director of Terminal Development. Previous employers that utilized his talents wre Ormet, Chem Haulers, Green’s Cartage, Ace Doran Trucking, PGT Trucking as well as various other companies.

     He served his country proudly in the United State Air Force and is a veteran of the Vietnam War.

     Being involved with the Woodsfield High School Alumni Association gave him much joy. He was known to them as the ‘other Elvis’. Singing and performing came naturally to him. All who knew him will remember his sense of humor and larger that life personality.

     Jack was the husband of 45 years to Donna J. Slowey Keylor, who survives him. Three children proudly called him Dad; Michele (Tom) Denbow of Gallipolis, Ohio, MaryAnn (Scott) Whalin of Orleans, Indiana and Matthew Keylor of Woodsfield, Ohio.

     He was Grandpa to nine grandchildren; Andy, Casey, Samantha and Nick Denbow, Victoria, Jenna and Zeke Whalin and Gabriel and Eli Keylor. He entertained them well with silliness, teasing and great big hugs.

     His brother Harold “Butch” Keylor and wife Cheryl reside in Dyer, Indian with their two sons, Christopher and Collin.

     Visitation to celebrate Jack’s life will take place from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at the Bauer-Turner Funeral Home in Woodsfield. Mass of Christian burial will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday December 1, 2010 at St. Sylvester Catholic Church, 330 S. Main St. Woodsfield with Rev. Fr. David Gaydosik officiating.

     KIMPEL, Charles W., 91, of 6370 Rose Hill Rd. Roseville, went to be with his Lord on Wednesday July 7, 2010 at 12:45 p.m. at his home surrounded by his loving family.

     He was born on May 5, 1919 in Monroe County, a son of the late Ella and Carl W. Kimpel of Clarington, Ohio.

     He attended Clarington School.

     He married Mary Lemley on October 27, 1945. They lived and farmed the land near Roseville for 54 years. He loved the farm where he raised turkeys, cattle, and sheep.

     He was a member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church and was part of the Emmaus Community of Newark.

     He is survived by his wife, Mary of the home; three sons, Tim (Martha) Kimpel of Roseville, Geof (Dianna) Kimpel of Roseville, and Gerry (Donna) Kimpel of Roseville who are currently serving as missionaries in Uganda; sister-in-law, Esther Kimpel of Somerset; brother-in- law, Clayton Christman of Woodsfield; four grand children, Valerie (Denny) Mozena, Ryan (Tina) Kimpel, Katie (Shawn) Brown, and Renee (Marcus) Ramsey; eight great-grand children, Madison Sims, Samantha Tommy, and Logan Mozena, Selah and Sophie Brown, Faith and Levi Ramsey. Many nieces and nephews, and church friends.

     He was preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Sam Kimpel, Roy Kimpel, and Margaret Christman; one son, Freddy who died in 1951.

     Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. Friday July 9, 2010 at William Thompson & Son Funeral Home 5765 Gladstone Dr. White Cottage.

     Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday July 10, 2010 at St. Paul's United Methodist Church in Roseville where friends may call from 10-11a.m. Pastor Jerry Sutton officiating.

     Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery.

     Betty Jane Kindall, 78, of 601 Woodland Court, Woodsfield, Ohio died Tuesday, November 23, 2010, at the Barnesville Hospital, Barnesville, Ohio.

     She was born near New Matamoras, Ohio on April 25, 1932, a daughter of the late Merle and Mabel Wright Joy.

     Betty was a retired custodian at the former Woodsfield High School, Woodsfield, Ohio, a Baptist by faith, a member of the O.A.P.S.E. and a former member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Women’s Auxiliary, Woodsfield, Ohio.

     In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, George Joy, one sister, Dottie Theobald, and an infant sister, Clara Joy.

     Surviving are three daughters: Polly (Bob) Perry of Cambridge, Ohio, Debby Davis of Woodsfield, Ohio, Cathy (Andrew) Vinskovich of Woodsfield, Ohio; two sons: John (Lorah) Shapley of Woodsfield, Ohio, Patrick (Rita) Shapley of Woodsfield, Ohio; two brothers: Robert Joy of Sarahsville, Ohio, Roger Joy of New Matamoras, Ohio, ten grandchildren, several great grandchildren, and two great- great grandchildren on the way.

     At Betty’s request, there will be no visitation.

     Inurnment will be held at the convenience of the family at the Antioch Cemetery, Antioch, Ohio.

     Carolyn Sue Kindle, age 68, of Orlando, Florida formerly of Graysville, Ohio died Friday December 10, 2010 at Florida East Hospital due to heart failure.  She was born April 23, 1942 in Ashland, Ohio a daughter of the late Donovan and Grace Eikleberry Jackson.

     She was a homemaker.  She enjoyed quilting and cross-stitching.  Her most important jobs were being a mother and grandmother.  Her children and grandchildren were her life.    

     Surviving are her companion of almost twenty-one years; James Hampton of Orlando, Florida, ex-husband of nineteen years; Ben Kindle of Lewisville, Ohio, five children; Robin (Sam) McLean, Bruce (the late Donna) Kindle, Todd Kindle, Shawna Bond, all of Orlando, Florida and Camela “Cammie” Kindle of Woodsfield, Ohio, two brothers; Carl “Elmer” Jackson and Harold Jackson, both of Graysville, Ohio, one sister; Mabel Frase of Wooster, Ohio, eleven grandchildren; Tara Pollock of Columbus, Ohio, Tommy Phillips of Ohio, Derek Pritchard, Friend “Bub” Daugherty, Carolyn “Carrie” Kindle, April (Stephen) Pearl, Miranda Vita, Elizabeth “Boo” Bond, all of Orlando, Florida and Natashia Hughey, Cortney Hughey, and Amber Hughey, all of Woodsfield, nine great grandchildren; Iesha Daugherty, Eric Daugherty, Austin Daugherty, all of Mississippi, Tristan Daugherty, Talon Daugherty, Keyarra Daugherty, Randy Kindle and Stephen Pearl, Jr., all of Orlando Florida, and one unborn great grandchild due on June 30, 2011.

     She also has many nieces, nephews, and cousins.  Carolyn is also survived by her best friend of over thirty-three years; Norma Smith of New Martinsville, West Virginia.

     In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister; Marie Lallathin, two infant children; Mark Alan Kindle and Carol Ann Kindle, and one great grandson; Zane Dossitt.

     Friends received from 2 – 4 & 6 - 8 p.m. Wednesday December 29, at the Bauer-Turner Funeral Home 100 S. Paul St. Woodsfield, Ohio where funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday December 30, 2010 with Jeremy Kinney officiating.  

     Interment in the West Union Cemetery near Sardis, Ohio.

     Catherine Mary Ann King, age 96, of Woodsfield, Ohio died Friday February 5, 2010 at her home. She was born in Miltonsburg, Ohio January 14, 1914 a daughter of the late Clem Spangler and Mary Winesdoerffer Spanler.

     She was a member of the Laings Church of Christ, and worked at J.C. Penny and Sledd Company both of Wheeling, WV, was former secretary for the Monroe County Co-op, and work with the Monroe County Republican Central Committee.

     Preceded in death by her husband: Paul D. King, 1 brother: Joe Spangler, and 1 sister Virginia Spangler.

     She is survived by 2 sons and daughters-in-law: Dave P. (Hattie Ault) King, Doug (Rebecca Ady) King, 5 grandchildren: Mary Ann King Campbell, April Dawn King Crum, Deanna King Hall, Savannah Kay King and David R. King, 7 great grandchildren: Michael and Walker Crum, Daniel and Ashley Campbell, and Kayley, Billy, and Jazlyn Hall. 2 cousins: Anna Marie Reid, and Robert Winesdoerffer, 2 nieces: Peggy Bringman, and Phyllis Zalenski.

     She was preceded in death by her parents, Samuel and Jessie Marilyn Smittle Lively.

     Survivors include her husband of 33 years, Donald L. King; a son, Scott King of St. Clairsville, Ohio; a brother, Rick (Linda) Lively of Sardis; two step daughters, Terri Lynn (Ed) Henderhan of Marietta, Ohio and Michelle (David) Jenkins of Pittsburgh, PA; a step son, Donald Lee King of Pittsburgh; a grandson, Samuel Scott King; a niece, Kayla Lively of Columbus, Ohio; and numerous step grandchildren and step great grandchildren.

     Family will receive friends on Saturday from 2-4 and 6-8pm at Grisell Funeral Home, 37234 Mound Street, Sardis.

     Graveside services and interment will be held on Sunday at 3:00pm at Harter Cemetery, Hannibal, Ohio with Rev. Cathy Harman officiating.

     DENNISON -- Willard "Good Will" King, 56, of Cambridge, finished one journey to begin another on Aug. 24, 2010.

     He will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by family and friends who will look forward to reuniting with him again.

     He was born April 27, 1954, in Canton, son of the late Ralph King and Mary Ellen Bouscher of Phoenix, Ariz.

     Mr. King served his country proudly in the U.S. Navy.

     An avid motorcyclist, Will had ridden all over the world and loved being on his bike.

     The greatest joy in his life was spending time with his grandchildren.

     In addition to his mother, Mary Ellen Bouscher, Will leaves behind a loving family including a daughter with whom he resided, Hope Ellen and husband Ramiro Lopez of Cambridge; grandsons, Cyrus, Gavyn and Lucian; granddaughter, Amina Faith; sister, Annie; and brother, Ralph.

     No public services are planned.

        Barbara was born July 15, 1932 in Neosho, MO, and moved to the Kansas City area in 1963. She worked at the dental office of Dr. Bill Brown, Sr., for 13 years. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of North Kansas City, and Stepping Stones Garden Club. Barbara loved her family and gardening.

        She was preceded in death by her parents, O.C. and Jessie (Hatfield) Mitchell.

        Survivors include her husband of 63 years, Bill Kinkade; sons, Bill Kinkade II, and his wife, Vicki; and Jim Kinkade; grandchildren: Jason Kinkade, and wife, Megan; Sarah Canovi, and husband, Marc; great grandchildren: Kelton Kinkade, Olivia, and Ashton Canovi.

        LOVINGTON - Robert D. Kinkade, 93, of Lovington passed away 9:20 a.m. Thursday, June 24, 2010 at Mason Point, Sullivan. Graveside services will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, June 26, 2010 at Keller Cemetery, Lovington. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the services at McMullin-Young Funeral Home, Lovington. Burial will be in Keller Cemetery, Lovington.

        Robert was born July 24, 1916 in Olney, the son of Douglas P. and Esther B. (Stroud) Kinkade. He married Laurie Ann Nelson January 23, 1965 in Las Vegas, NV on. She preceded him in death on August 31, 1985. He was a retired Boeing Aircraft Technician for TRW AeroSpace in California. Bob lived a very full and adventurous life. He enjoyed playing his guitar and keyboard and fishing with his brother, Charlie. Later in life he wrote and told many stories detailing his memories. He was an avid St. Louis Cardinals baseball fan and a great debater of politics and religion. Bob spent the last few years of his life living at Mason Point in Sullivan being cared for by staff that became family to him and treated him like a "King". He is survived by his brother Charles N. Kinkade and wife June of Lovington and many nieces and nephews and their families. He is preceded in death by his parents, wife, and sisters Anna Mae Ascherman and Virginia Campanella.     

 

Kinney, Ralph Kinney

     Ralph Kinney, 72, of Jerusalem, Ohio died Thursday, August 12, 2010 at his home after a three year fight with cancer.

     He was born April 3, 1938  near New Castle, Ohio,  a son of the late Harry and Mary Zurcher  Kinney.  He had previously been employed by General Telephone, Hoosier Engineering, and Hinkle-McCoy, but because of his life-long love of farming, he never retired and he farmed as long as his health permitted.  

     Ralph attended the Pleasant Ridge United Methodist Church and was a member of the  Rock Hill Presbyterian Church.  

     He was also a member of the Belmont Grange; a member of the Monroe County 4-H Sale Committee, and he had been a 4-H advisor for many years.

     In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Joe; a grandson, Jonathan; and a brother, Charles. 

     Surviving are his wife of 51 years, Miriam Giffin Kinney; his children, Bob (Cheryl) Kinney of Summerfield, Cecil Kinney of Beallsville, Richard (Dyann) Kinney, and Brian “BJ” (Nicole) Kinney, all of Jerusalem, Donna (Joe) Baker of Somerton and Patti Heath of Beallsville; three sisters, Wanda (Bill) Thomas and Jenny (Arlen) Phillips, both of Apple Creek and Phyllis (Mick) Phillips of Flushing; 19 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. 

     Visitation will be held Sunday, August 15 from noon until 3 PM and from 6 until 8 PM at the Harper Funeral Home, Beallsville where funeral services will be held Monday, August 16 at 1 PM with Pastor Tina Gallaher and Rusty Atkinson officiating. 

     Burial will follow in Beallsville Cemetery.

     Velma E. Kinney, 82, of 40145 State Route 26, Woodsfield, Ohio died Wednesday, February 17, 2010 in the Barnesville Hospital, Barnesville, Ohio.

     She was born near Graysville, Ohio on February 19, 1927 a daughter of the late James Ernest and Fannie Brotton Heddleson.

     Velma was a homemaker and a member of the Graysville Church of Christ, Graysville, Ohio. She enjoyed reading cook books and traveling.

     In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Harold B. Kinney, Jr. on March 29, 2009; three infant children, Keith David Kinney, Sharon Eileen Kinney and Bruce Harold Kinney; two sisters, Fanchion and Violet; one brother, Clifford Heddleson.

     Surviving are three sons: Brent Kinney of Townville, South Carolina, John Kinney of Columbus, Ohio and Jay Kinney of Woodsfield, Ohio; one sister: Eileen (Gene) Ring of Athens, Ohio; one brother: Milford (Angie) Heddleson of State College, Pennsylvania; eight grandchildren; six great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

     Friends will be received at the Watters Funeral Home, 37501 State Route 78 West, Woodsfield, Ohio from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Friday, February 19, 2010 where funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, February 20, 2010 with Jeremy Kinney officiating.      Wayne Edward Kirkbride, age 81, of Woodsfield, Ohio died June 1, 2010 at the Monroe County Care Center Woodsfield.

     He was born in Jerusalem, Ohio September 24, 1924 a son of the late Alonzo & Claira Kirkbride.

     He retired from Norgas Company of Barnesville and was a Korean War Veteran.

     He is survived by his wife: Bonnie Kirkbride of Beallsville, Ohio, 1 son: Jeff (Tammy) Kirkbride – Woodsfield, 3 daughters: Carol (Mark) Mellott – Beallsville, Shirley (Mirco) Milosavljevic – Beallsville, Goldie Kirkbride – Dalton, Ohio, several grandchildren.

     There will be no visitation.

Kruger, Robert Lee Kruger

        Robert Lee Kruger, 72, of Baltimore, Md., formerly of Orion, passed away Sunday, May 2, 2010, after suffering a stroke on May 1.

        In accordance with Mr. Kruger's request, he was cremated. A memorial service is being planned in the near future in Illinois to celebrate his life.

        Mr. Kruger was born April 29, 1938, in Illinois, the third son of Earl and Julia. After graduating from Orion High School, he attended Black Hawk College in Moline and transferred to Webster College, Webster Grove, Mo., where he received a BFA in theater. He was a member of the first co-educational graduating class at Webster College. Because of medical reasons, Robert did not pursue a professional career in the theater, but instead spent most of his life in the retail industry in the greater Baltimore area. He ultimately became an expert in the buying, selling and repairing of antique rugs.

        Survivors include his partner of more than 40 years, Edgar Barker, Baltimore; brothers, Dan Kruger, Litchfield Park, Ariz., Bill Painter (Barbara), Prophetstown; sisters, Mary Ann Nooner (Bob), Long Beach, Calif., and Laurie Jo Archibald (Jay), Jacksonville, Fla.; plus many nieces and nephews scattered all over the country. He was preceded in death by his father, Earl Kruger; his stepfather, Marion Painter; his mother, Julia Painter; and two brothers, James and Jerry Kruger.

SCOTT  KURTZMAN  ICKES


age 54, of Upland, went home to be with the Lord on May 11, 2010. He was born in Culver City, and grew up in Redondo Beach, where he graduated from Redondo Beach High School. He attended Humbolt State University. Scott worked for 35 years in the Aerospace and Composites Indust ry, and was Vice President of Quality Assurance. A talented jazz and blues drummer who played at many venues throughout southern California, he was also a member of and volunteer for the Los Angeles Jazz Society, (LAJS) and California Jazz Arts Society, (CalJAS). He was able to use his talent for the Lord when he began playing his drums on the worship team at the church where he had been a member, La Verne Heights Presbyterian Church. Scott loved to travel with his wife, Lori. They took many vacations together. Attending concerts, camping, hiking and snow skiing were some of his favorite activities, but he particularly loved to swim & play water sports. He loved playing and walking with his dogs. Scott is survived by his wife, Lori Bayes-Ickes, and four stepchildren: Kristen Rosen, Daniel Flores, Amber Flores, and Justin Bayes; his mother and stepfather Betty and Bruce Ickes; his stepmother Marilyn Kurtzman; a brother and two sisters, Rob Kurtzman, Dana Kurtzman-Vafiades and Chris Fisher; three grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews. A celebration honoring Scott's life will be held on Thursday, May 20, 2010, at 12:00 noon, La Verne Heights Presbyterian Church, 1040 Baseline Road, La Verne, California.
