George Washington and Mary Jane Whitacre Hodge – 1883

George Washington Hodge (1863 – 1908) was the son of Samuel and Catharine Hodge.  Mary Jane Whitacre Hodge (1865 – 1943) was the daughter of Sydnor and Julia Ann Winland Whitacre.  They were married on October 6, 1883.  Family lore has it that Georges mother, Catharine, was half American Indian.  To date there is no verification of the Indian heritage.
