Potts Cemetery

Center Township, Monroe County, Ohio

>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

This old Potts Cemetery is located along a road that is locally known as Sawmill Road (T-267).   This is an unpaved road that runs south from Ohio Rt. 78.  The intersection of T-267 and Rt. 78 is about equidistant from Woodsfield and Lewisville, Ohio – that is, about 3.5 miles from each.  A useful landmark is the M. Fisher rest-stop located about one mile to the west on Rt. 78 (toward Lewisville, OH) from this intersection.  Driving on Rt. 78 from Lewisville toward Woodsfield, go past the rest-stop and soon come to a long, fairly steep dip in the road (on Rt. 78).  As you climb the hill on the other side of the valley that forms the steep dip, Rt. 78 turns to the left near the top of the hill.  The intersection with Sawmill Road is in this curve with Sawmill Road on the right side of Rt. 78.  To get to Potts Cemetery, proceed along Sawmill Road (T-267) for nearly a half mile.  The cemetery is on the left at the intersection of T-267 and Center Township Road 2313 that turns off to the left.  There is a house directly across Twp Road 2313 from the cemetery.
