R. W. Pope was the proprietor and operator of a pharmacy in Woodsfield that carried his name, R. W. Pope, The Druggist.  He went into business about 1875.  In addition to drugs and prescriptions his store carried toilet articles, stationery, paints, oils, wallpaper, and other materials and items for home maintenance and repair.
