Ritzert, Francis J., 40, of
Mapleton Road, Route 4, Canton, a flagman on a road construction job, was
struck and killed by an automobile on Freeburg Road, northeast of Canton, on
Friday, October 11, 1957. Mr. Ritzert was
a son of the late George and Mary Burkhart Ritzert, of Woodsfield, and resided
here and near Graysville until moving to Canton a few years ago.
Surviving
are his wife, the former Miss Edith Dillon, of Graysville; three sons and one
daughter, of the home; one sister, Mrs. Don (Magdalene) McCort, of near
Barnesville, and three brothers, Lawrence Ritzert, of Zanesville; Raymond
Ritzert, of Cleveland, and George Ritzert, of Canton.
His
parents and two sisters, Adelia and Virginia, have preceded him in death.
A
Requiem High Mass was solemnized in St. Sylvesters Church at Woodsfield this
Monday morning at ten o'clock, with Rev. Robert Brown officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.

McCort, 76, of Logan, formerly of Barnesville, died Friday in University
Hospital, Columbus. She was born May
19, 1915, in Woodsfield, a daughter of the late George J. and Mary Burkhart
Ritzert. She was a retired licensed
practical nurse at Barnesville Hospital and a member of St. John Catholic
Church. She was preceded in death by
her husband, Charles Donald McCort; four brothers; two sisters.
Surviving
are three sons: Dvid, Michael (Mick), and James (Pete) all of Logan; a
daughter, Mrs. James (Nancy) Dysert of Marietta; 12 grandchildren.
Friends
will be received 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at Campbell-Plumly-Milburn
Funeral Home, Barnesville. Mass of
Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:30 a.m. Monday at the Church of the
Assumption, Barnesville, with the Rev. David Gaydosik and the Rev. Charles
Mascolino officiating. Burial in
Crestview Cemetery, Barnesville. Christian wake service at 8:30 p.m. today in
the funeral home.
