St. Peter’s Evangelical Lutheran Church

Old Cemetery in Lewisville, Ohio

 

The St. Peter’s Evangelical Church (which has been converted to a business establishment) is located in Lewisville, Ohio near the intersection of Main Street and Ohio Route # 145.  There are two separate cemeteries behind this church.  Immediately behind the church is an old cemetery in which the earliest burial found is 1852.  Only two burials were found in the 20th Century; those being in 1912 and 1914.  This old cemetery is the one listed below.    The newer cemetery can be accessed by clicking, newer cemetery.

The latitude, longitude and elevation of this cemetery was measured using a GPS.  Several graves in the cemetery were recorded in the newer section of the cemetery.  These include the grave of Frank, Oscar Frank where the GPS recorded error of the L/L was +/- 20 feet.  The Elevation = 1239 feet above sea level; the Latitude = N 39 o 45.762; the Longitude = W081o 13.110; Description: Measurement made at the tombstone of Oscar Frank located in the cemetery of the Old German Church in Lewisville, Ohio, USA; Measurement made on September 3, 2002 by Richard Harrington

 

A second set of measurements were made at the grave of Young, Eva Young (1840 - 1919) where the GPS recorded error of the L/L was +/- 20 feet.  The Elevation = 1230 feet above sea level; the Latitude = N 39 o 45.766; the Longitude = W081o 13.121;

 

A third set of measurements were made at the grave of Young, Frederick Young (1829 - 1912)  where the GPS recorded error of the L/L was +/- 20 feet.  The Elevation = 1230 feet above sea level; the Latitude = N 39 o 45.755; the Longitude = W081o 13.121
