W. C. Mooney was the son of the president of the Monroe Bank, Samuel L. Mooney.  In 1898 he became Vice President and Manager of the bank, a position that he still held in 1906.  Prior to his appointment as Vice President and Manager, he served as cashier between the years 1878 and 1898.
