The following was copied from an undated, hand written petition signed by 52 members of the village and surrounding community of Lewisville, Ohio.  Based on the names on of those who signed the petition it is likely that it was made sometime in the first decade of the 1900s.  An article published in The Sentinel dated May 23, 1907, states that the population of Lewisville that year was about 300.  Whether this petition ever resulted in the enactment of a statute is unknown.
