Hi everyone, this thread was so interesting and I was hoping some you could
jump in and help us. I'm thinking out loud here - but wasn't it possible
for a widow to become a headright - regardless of her age ? ... and
considering that the average age for women to marry is 18 ... that
theoretically would be the earliest age one would expect a female to be
headright (her hubby died on the honeymoon). Perhaps some of you could shed
some light on what I vaguely remember about headright rules. thanks heaps.

orphans who were head rights) but usually it was 21. I seem to remember an
article about that somewhere and I'm pretty sure my mom knows
... or someone on our list.
