I'm looking for information on Harrisons in Brunswick and Sussex counties of
Virginia. I have a Thomas Walpole (d. 1792) who was supposed to have
married two Harrisons from unrelated lines. One was a Elizabeth Harrison
from deeds of gifts of John Walpole there is a Thomas, Elizabeth and Ann
Harrison listed as witnesses from Martin Brandon Parish of Prince George in
1767. I believe that the Elizabeth Harrison listed on this deed of gift may
be the one Thomas Walpole married 1st. The second Harrison was Rebecca
supposedly the daughter of a Col James Harrison of Bruswick County VA. The
Walpole family carried the Harrison name as a middle name for a couple
generations. After the death of Thomas Walpole in 1792 Rebbeca was chosen
as guardian by her stepchildren and a security bond was posted by Gray
Washington. Gray Washington was md to Nancy Harrison who I believe was a
daughter of Col James Harrison.
I'm also interested in a General Benjamin Harrison who md Mary "Polly"
Walpole on 11 Dec 1794 and moved to Edgefield SC in the 1790's. Benjamin
was b 21 Feb 1769 and died 19 sep 1829 in Macon Co. Alabama. Mary was born
21 Feb 1777 and died 8 May 1854.Benjamin Harrison appears on many documents
I have with Richard Walpole who also moved to Edgefield SC. Benjamin may
have been born in SC I have seen a family tree with him listed as a son of
Benjamin Harrison and Mary Stuart.
Well I hope I didn't overload this but if anyone has any information on
these lines please let me know. Thanks
Nate
