Linda writes: "I cannot find proof of their parents. In two books I have
seen speculation that their father was named John. One names this John as
the son of Cuthbert and Francis Osborne Barnes, born 18 Aug 1744. Another
says he might have been the John born about 1730 in Westmoreland County, VA
and dying in Fairfax County, VA in 1826, he married first Nancy Miller and
second Bettie Headley. I am leaning far toward this John because the name
Headley has been passed down through our Harrison line for generations. And
also, John and Nancy Miller had a son William who was in the Continental
army." 138
Children:
i. Thomas HARRISON - 3108; Born 1765/1774 in Fairfax Co., VA. Died 1863.

He was born in Fairfax County, VA in 1774 according to his gravestone,
but a court deposition taken in 1851 indicates that he was 86 years old, so
if that is correct then he was actually born in 1765. There was at least
one other brother and probably another sister or so. The anonymous brother
was probably the oldest of the children and he entered the Continental army
in 1780. Some of the Harrisons, Furrs, Seybolds and Reeds moved together to
Mason County, KY in 1793. There is some evidence to suggest that at least
John Harrison had been to KY previously, perhaps as early as 1790.
He married Margaret FURR - 3114, daughter of Edwin FURR - 3115. Sources138.
