Jo-
The amount of unsolicited advertising being distributed through e-mail has
been on the increase. I receive several each day. Mostly get-rich-schemes. The
best way to deal with this "spamming" is to send a complaint along with a copy
of the message to the server used to send the mail. The server name can be
located in the header. In most cases a message addressed to
"postmaster@(server name).com" will get through. If the message originated at
AOL send the message to [email protected]. There are other exceptions also, but if
you send the message to "postmaster" the server will advise you of a better
address for future use.
In most cases these broadcast messages violate the servers rules and action
will be taken. The more compaints the more likely this irritating practice
will be discontinued.
