Please, I am seeking information on the parents and other ancestors of a
Margaret HARRISON. Here are the clues:
She was married to Henry BURGESS on 20 Feb 1806 in Rockingham Co, VA. They
had a daughter Edith BURGESS, born c. 1808 in Rockingham Co., who married
George FRISTOE on 29 Jan 1824 in Todd or Christian Co, KY.
After Henry Burgess died, she (as Margaret BURGESS) married Daniel Henry
FRISTOE II (George's father) on 10 Jan 1820 in Christian Co, KY. They had a
son, Robert Harrison FRISTOE, who was a Capt. in the 8th KY Mounted Infantry
(CSA) and lost a leg at the battle of Harrisburg, MS.
Margaret FRISTOE married Peyton HARRISON on 18 mar 1836 in Christian Co, KY.
This Margaret was either a daughter of Daniel Henry Fristoe II by his first
wife, or she was Margaret HARRISON and this was her third marriage.
The following were sent to me by Becky Bonner (thanks!) but I neglected to
ask where they were from, I assume Rockingham Co, VA:
"P. 414 Henry Burgess, John Sheltman and Reuben Harrison witness to land
transaction of John Rogers to Joseph Cravens - June 22, 1809.
Henry is also mentioned on p. 247 living near Conrad Bradley, James Curry,
Peter Conrad, William Cravens."
I have analyzed and compared all the names, dates, and places listed above
to the information on Ms. Bonner's excellent web site. By far, the greatest
number of hits occurs around Col. Benjamin Harrison of Rockingham Co., and
it would seem to indicate that he was my Margaret Harrison's father.
Unfortunately, he already has a daughter named Margaret, who married Ezekiel
LOGAN on 22 May 1797 in Rockingham Co. Could these Margarets be the same
(the age is ok)? Could she have married after LOGAN? Or, is she a
different, but closely related Margaret? If so, who were her parents? Help!!
If it were possible, I'd be up there digging around myself. *Any*
information anyone could provide would help me to sleep at night again! I
would greatly appreciate it!
