America; Stafford Co., VA. Sources26, 27,125.

emigrated to VA and settled in Stafford Co., was a justice of that county
in 1698 and sent by the House of Burgesses on an embassy to the Piscataway
Indians in 1699. 27 Burr first shows up in virginia in 1654, as indentured
to a Tho. Meades. Meades is believed to have originaly settled in Maryland
and that Burr Harrison came from Maryland with him. Maryland records that
might confirm this theory are lost. Church records from the Dettington
Parish of
Prince William Co. indicate that Burr Harrison was the son of a Cuthbert
Harrison and baptized In St. Margaret's Parish, Westminister, England. The
original records at St. Margaret's, while not exactly matching the dates from
Dettington Parish, seem to be close enough to correlate. They also seem
to indicate that Cuthbert and his family had left St. Margaret's Parish by
1652. Again, confirmation of the arrival date of this Harrison family in
the New World rests with records from Maryland or Virginia that are missing
or have been destroyed. Although there are siblings mentioned in the church
records from St. Margaret's, no confirmation of them has been found in
colonial records, nor of Burr's parents.

Burr Harrison progressed from an indentured servant, to an overseer, and
from there to a tenant. Finally Burr acquired land of his own along the
Chopawomsic River, in what is now Stafford Co. This land would remain in
the Harrison family at least the next 150 years. Except for those noted to
have moved away, this Harrison family remained in northern Virginia, in the
area of what is now the counties of Stafford, Prince William, Fauquier and
Fairfax.26

		He married Frances (Mary) BURDETTE.

17	Frances (Mary) BURDETTE - 1874. Residence Stafford Co. VA. Sources24,67
States Only Mary,125.

		Sixth Generation
		**************************************************

32	Cuthbert HARRISON - 1303. Born Circa 1607 in ENG. Residence St.
Margarets Westminister, ENG (1637). Sources26, 27.
