Recently I talked on the phone with a researcher (no computer) about the
Middletons.
I hope I have this straight - no promises here - from hurried notes on
phone, it goes something like this:
Benedict Middleton m. Hannah HARRISON, her father was SAMUEL Harrison m. to
Christina THORP. Children: Ann, John, and Thomas (m. to Elizabeth WEBB
and had dau Sarah Webb?); dau Hannah b 1826 m. Wm Locke and dau Sarah m. Wm.
M. Locke.
Here I am not sure she was saying Benedict Middletons children or Samuel
Harrisons children.
Wit to Will: Willoughby Harrison, Thomas Harrison, Elizabeth Harrison. -
again I am
confused as to whose will. Samuel H's or Benedict Middletons.?
Another name mentioned was WEAVER - Odie M. Weaver was mother of Hugh Ray
ALLEN who m. Frances Weaver, a cousin of Middleton Harrison.
A Catherine Harrison, age 70, is in the household 1850 in AR.
Seems they migrated to Warren Co and Terrill Co. NC (1750s), Lancaster Co.
SC, OH, Lincoln Co. TN; Limestone Co. AL (N AL), MS, AR.
Bible record of Middleton Harrison - father was John Harrison and Sarah
Middleton, dau of Thomas Middleton. and Nancy, b Lancaster SC. John's will
1829 in Lincoln Co. TN list children. His dau Elizabeth m. Ludy Cauthern,
mentioned in will, they moved on to Panola Co. MS and d. there.
The bible record is probably in print in Itawamba,MS.
John's children: Middleton, Thomas, Daniel B., Hillery, Willis Lovell,
Elizabeth, Nancy, and Cynthia.
This John is prob. brother of James Harrison in Lincoln Co. TN.
James Children: Berry -1813,James-1819, Letha-1820, Mary-1829,
Benjamin-1820, Nancy-1820, Amanda Helen-1827, Daniel G-1832.
Kennedy Bailey, (son of Wm Fleming Bailey, Sr,) m. Mary Middleton, dau of
Thomas M. , their son James Middleton lived in Itawamba,MS, Lauderdale and
Lawrence Cos. AL. A book out in 1995 by Rex Bailey of SC has some Harrison
info of these lines.
Also The Leonardo Andrea Collection in Lancaster, SC .
