I just got back from DC and while there I went to the Archives. I was
looking for any Harrisons in the pension file who might be the father of
my ancestor, Asenath (Siniah) Harrison Guest, who was b. about 1781 in
Virginia and died after 1860 in Bedford County, TN. She had married
Moses Guest, Jr. in Franklin County, GA in 1803.
Several Harrisons are on the deed indexes during this period, two of
which are Barzella Harrison and a Burr Harrison. Barzilla came to the
middle TN area about the same time as Moses Guest, Jr. migrated.
Barzilla's widow's application for pension was very interesting. One of
the witnesses who vouched for her story about being in GA was Moses
Guest who said she was a neighbor. (Was he also a son-in-law?)
Barzilla's marriage to Ann was said to have taken place in Bedford
County, VA. They stopped for a period in Surry County, NC where he was
enlisted in the Rev. War along with Moses Guest, Sr. Does anyone have
additional information on this couple?
Yours, Ginny K.
