Phone Companies at it Again!

Mindful of the fact the phone companies want to charge anywhere from 4
cents to 40 cents per minute for the Internet access charge in ADDITION
to your Internet Service provider charges.

[email protected] have checked and verified the information that was sent to
me for
re-broadcast. I already knew about it because I subscribe to the
Internet News services (6 different ones) and all said same.

The ISPs and Online companies such as Compuserve, AOL, Prodigy, etc are
united and need your help to block the greedy phone companies with
exception of Bell South who side with the ISPs.

The objective of the greedy phone companies, big and small want the FCC
to impose requirement to charge per minute for using phones to access
the Internet, including emails.

The phone companies are claiming that we are causing the congestions on
the phone lines. The truth is that it is the phone lines are using
analog type technology and they won't admit the fact they should start
using packet technology to move along the Internet traffic. They already
have the technology to do so and won't do it unless we tell FCC to order
the phone companies to open up the packet technology. The Big Guru of
the Internet said it is the packet technology the phone companies are
trying to duck in order to get their greedy hands on our money.

Details of information is below on where to send your comments to, to
tell those phone companies to back off and fix their technology instead.

This quote below is virtual identical from two very unrelated lists. One
is genealogical and other has ABSOLUTE nothing to do with genealogical.

"I am writing you this to inform you of a very important matter
currently
under review by the FCC. Most telephone companies have filed a proposal
with the FCC to impose per minute charges for your internet service.
They
contend that your usage has or will hinder the operation of the
telephone
network.

It is my belief that Internet usage will diminish if users were required
to pay additional per-minute charges. The FCC has created an e-mail box
for YOUR comments. Responses must be received by Thursday, February 13,
1997. Send your comments to: [email protected] and tell them what you think.

Please forward this e-mail to all your friends on the Internet so all
our
voices may be heard."

Get your comments in before the deadline.
