I put the Dec 1986 issue from Harrison Heritage online last night. see
http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~harrisonrep/hhdocs/86dechh.htm
Many THANK YOUs to Cathy Cadd for transcribing it for us. Cathy has
volunteered to transcribe all the issues ... as I just have not found the
time and is long overdue in my plan. We are starting with 1986 as this
year was not indexed and working backwards. Anyone with ideas of how to
easily index PLEASE write me. The issues are in Word then exported for
HTML. ANY suggestions for a program ... or a volunteer or two would be
fabulous! I think when we get it indexed, we should send to libraries that
already have issues of HH in their collection to complete it. I know that
Ruth Jones wanted to but never found the time. Her indexes of the other
years have some good details that we need to make it really useful (how
many times have you looked at a HARRISON book and found only given names in
the index?) Duh... for William or Benjamin you might as well read the
whole book!
The other indexes look something like this:
HARRISON
Joseph b. CA 1800 180
b. 1772 MD 180
Rev War MD 110
s/Wm.& Marg 115
m. 1889 173
Mary Ann d/Daniel TN 219
She only indexed the HARRISONs but I think the other surnames are just as
helpful as the dates and places. Think about it and maybe ya'll can come
up with some even better suggestions. I like the more detailed type index
Ruth and her dau did - clearly takes more time but worth the effort.
