Hi folks,
You are my next to the last hope. The library in Adrian, County of Lenawee
and State of Michigan can find nothing.
My elusive ancestor is Ralph Joel HARRISON, b. ca 1877 in Adrian, MI,
according to information on his daughter's birth and death certificates. I
know he married (ca 1915, probably in McLennan Co., TX) Alma Nancy REED
MAXWELL. They had a son, Ralph Joel HARRISON, Jr. (b. Mar 1919 in El Paso,
TX, d. 24 Mar 1925 in Williams, AZ) and a daughter, Jewel HARRISON (b. 24 Dec
1922 in Williams, AZ, d. 22 Nov 1986 in Sun City, Maricopa Co., AZ). My guess
is that Ralph and Alma's son was born during their travel from McLennan Co.,
TX to AZ, as we have documentation of a well-baby checkup in Phoenix, AZ when
the baby was 8 months old.
Ralph died on 15 Jun 1937 in Williams, AZ, is buried in the Williams Cemetery
and his headstone was erected (apparently) by the VFW. He probably served in
the Navy during the Spanish-American War (1898-1902). As he was 42 at the
time of his son's birth, there is every possibility that he had a previous
marriage (possibly in MI) before he miraculously appeared in McLennan Co., TX
around 1914.
Any leads of any kind would be most welcome.
