Harrison Discussion List

Hi all,
Mom has informed you that our list will be moving to RootsWeb. You will be
getting notice about that when it is ready to go. There will be NO CHARGE
for this and we will continue as usual. Donations welcomed to Rootsweb -
     RootsWeb Genealogical Data Cooperative
     P.O. Box 6798
     Frazier Park, CA 93222-6798

You can browse their member info if you like:
https://sites.rootsweb.com/rootsweb/how-to-subscribe.html

Do not send email to RootsWeb - they are busy making the moves and will add
everyone that was already subbed to this list automatically.

It is the end of an era with Larry Stevens - who dedicated a great deal of
his time to support us on his Indiana server. He supported some 40,000
users and literally thousands of lists. We are grateful for his
inspiration and help over the past few years. I believe the regional lists
may stay on Indiana though moving to a different server. This is not all
settled yet, but for sure the SURNAME lists are moving.

There will be a longer delay in making the archives available ... so I have
updated our website with all the messages I have squirreled away and
hopefully I haven't missed any. This will be up in about an hour (11 AM
CST Sun May 18).

We are off to China in two days - mom, myself, hubby and dau. I would
guess that the list will come up without us ... and hoping you don't have
any problems while we are gone. I sent Larry a message letting him know
about our absence... so don't really know if they will start without us or
not. No - I'm not packed yet and have tons to do ... but didn't want to
leave you all hanging with no archives.

For those who wondered why we are going to China .... I am doing a cancer
screening project there and will be teaching the chinese how to do a few
things. I don't speak Chinese so this will be interesting to say the
least.... too bad I don't have any Chinese ancestors that I know of! The
Chinese are among the oldest cultures on earth with absolutely remarkable
records of their ancestry dating back to 7000 b.c. And me I figure I have
accomplished something if I get my ancestor back to 1700 AD!

We should be back in US Jun 4 and will immediately check our mail and post
to you again. In the meantime, browse our archive ... re-read some old
messages ... and pray that our daughter Andrea doesn't remove a brick from
the Great Wall!

Thanks for hangin' in there and all your help and contributions to the
HARRISON Family research.
becky
