I guess I started this confusion !! I have heard from some of you and I have
checked some WFT CDs since I first posted the question and it seems to me that
there may have been some mistakes made long ago which have been perpetuated
through the years.
This documentation should be absolute proof that Cuthbert HARRISON of Prince
William Co. Va. married the widow of Thomas OSBORNE who died abt 1737. Any
marriage record would use her married name Osborne, who is she ?? Apparently
some people think that Cuthbert married Frances OSBORNE in 1739 <right time
frame> but list her father as BARNES. Could she be Frances (nee Barnes)
Osborne ?? Did someone get the names backwards ?? Does anyone have a clue that
might help me find out the name of the widow Osborne who married Cuthbert
Harrison??

Prince William Co., Book M, pps. 117-118; Lease and Release--Oct. 20, 1750. John Randolph of Prince William Co. Va. Planter, and Ann, his wife, one of the daughters and co-heirs of the late Thomas Osborne, of this county, Gent., dec'd, parties of the one part, lease and release to Cuthbert Harrison of the other part, all that undivided share and the part of the said John Randolph and Ann, his wife, in that plantation whereon the said Cuthbert Harrison now liveth, and all and every land belonging to the said Thomas Osborne...which upon his death descended and came to his daughters and co-heirs of the said Thomas Osborne's widow, who has since intermarried and is now the wife of Cuthbert Harrison.
