Hi,
For those of you who are new to this group, I am your listowner. I know
it's hard to tell with our new RootsWeb Host. I intend to change our
Welcome Message as soon as I get a chance but have been super busy since
returning from China. You have many resources for HARRISON research. In
addition to this list, I maintain a large database of HARRISON
ancestry/lineages at my website. These include a lot of contributions from
folks like yourself who have shared your lineages for inclusion. Plus a
lot of books, wills etc that me and my mom Josephine Bass have
painstakingly entered - now in the neighborhood of 12,000 individuals
mostly born before 1900. This database is unusual to the net in that we
provide everything we know including our sources for the information
commonly omitted from many online genealogies. A goodly number of our
sources are secondary so you really should check for yourself if you find a
match. We also try to provide at least one generation on the HARRISON
spouse if we know it. It really helps speed up your search by looking for
spouses or other unusual names. The HARRISON Repository also has a number
of Census records, maps, some photos, COA, other neat stuff, Harrison
Bulletin Board, Guestbook, and some newsletters (Harrison Heritage, and Dr.
Johnsons Notes) are being webified to add to your research tools. We
invite you to provide documents (perferably MSWord or HTML) to add to this
collection.

Please, if you like our website, then vote for it so that we can rise back
to the top 10 or at least stay where we are. We have dropped from 12th to
17th in the past 2 months - so we really need your vote. this is important
because the more people know about our site, the more info and tidbits we
will gain to expand our knowledge.

For those of you who have provided gedcoms that are still not online yet
... my apologies. I have just been too busy to complete the task. It is
much more difficult now to import as we have so many to check for
duplicates and matches and takes many hours to do just one. I still have
my dream that one day this database will be the collection of HARRISONs
where one can find ancestry of all. I THANK YOU all for your help,
sharing, encouragement and patience.
You should also check Gene Stark's gendex for your genealogy - which is
where I first go in my genealogy searches:

Me, I am a cancer researcher and genealogy is a wonderful hobby. I do
spend a lot of time with my work and have really very little time for
genealogy after my family (I have a 7 year old and a hubby) as I am not
retired.
Easily I could do genealogy full time as I derive a lot of pleasure in
corresponding with the nicest folks on earth!
