I'm looking to connect with anyone who has a John T. Harrison in their family
tree. My John Harrison was born in Sheffield, England in 1848 or 1849. At
the age of 5 months he emigrated to Philadelphia. John entered the Union
army while not quite sixteen years old, enlisting in company B, Eleventh
Maryland Regiment, and served with distinction until the end of the war. On
his return home he entered the service of the Philadelphia and Reading
Railroad Company. For nine years he was express messenger on the main line
and branches. In the late 1800's and very early 1900's, he was in
partnership with Joseph Mallatratt at the firm of Harrison and Mallatratt,
hosiery manufacturers. In 1903 he was a Pennsylvania State Senator, but he
died on 18th December 1903.
I also believe that John married the daughter of Joseph Mallatratt. I would
be grateful for any information about John's family and would be willing to
swap all of the information that I have gleaned about him so far.
Thanks for taking the time to read this message.
Good luck with your Harrison research!
