Hi, do you supooose there might be a connection to my James Harrison m. Elizabeth Harrisson 1815 Huntsville, AL. they lived
and d. in Limestone Co. AL. There might be some link to some of the names below.
In Limestone Co. AL there was a Rev MITCHELL connected to the
Cumberland Presby CH - a potege of Rev Donnel. Rev Donnel had
moved from NC to Wilson Co. TN then Limestone Co. AL.
WILSON CO TN: Isaac Lindsay, Josiah Lindsay connected with the Donnell fam from NC. William Alvis Lindsay in NC.
Mitchel lived in GILES Co. TN and d. there. They were very close
to my gm Nancy Harrison who m. Zachariah Lindsay.
James children I have found so far: Margaret Jane (Jane) who m. a Sloan, Nancy Elizabeth m. Z. Lindsay, Joseph S. (Sanders?) m.
Lucinda Fogg, Mary C. (Craven?) m. a Love; Cynthia Harriett never married?; James was admin of estate of William W.
Harrison, a school teacher, b between 1820-1830 d. between 1840-1850.
Corporal James Harrison, served in the War of 1812 in Captain Fleman Hodges' Company, under Major William Russell's Separate Battalion Tennesee Volunteer Mounted Gunmen. He was mustered into service September 28, 1814 substituting for James Bailey and discharged March 27, 1815.
Our ancestor James Harrison was an elder and founder of Shoal Ford Salem Church, c1835. Along with Thomas Gray and Joseph H. Bradley, and Nathaniel Davis. They opened a cemetery in 1835 next to the church and there are over 100 graves. Now called Martin Cemetery, located on the east side of Limestone Co, on the old Bradford Rd, directly S off Hwy 72 over halfway from Huntsville to Athens. Only a few stones are left, about 10. One stone is David Hall Craig (Jan 15 1784-24 Jul 1841), Pvt TN Mtd Gunmen War of 1812.
Another son, James was administrator of the estate of John C. Harrison in Limestone Co., AL October 1847, and William W. Harrison of the same county in 1853.
MITCHELL- Giles Co. TN
William Baker Pepper , son of Nathan Pepper, was born ca 1775 in Virginia. He married Mary (Polly) Williams, ( Daughter of George Williams and Alice Abernathy) on November 28, 1796 in Brunswick County, Virginia.
Mary (Polly) Williams was born between 1770-1780 in Virginia. William Baker Pepper died after 1850 - Before 1860 in Giles County, Tennessee and was buried in the (Pepper Cem., now destroyed, east of Pulaski and Elkton Turnpike).
Mary (Polly) Williams died before 1850 in Giles Co. Tennessee, and was buried in the Pepper Cem., Giles County, Tennessee.
The Children of William Baker Pepper and Mary (Polly) Williams were:
Rebecca was born ca 1805 in Virginia. She died ca 1886. Rebecca never married.
Edwin was born February 18, 1806 in Brunswick County, Virginia. Edwin died June 5, 1899. Edwin married Nancy Cary Mitchell ca 1836.
Caroline was born ca 1812 in Tennessee. She died by 1886. Caroline married
James Drummond.
