Following all the discussion on the relationship of Sharrack, Joseph and
Bazel Harrison, I did on research in Des Moines, IA. The following
information was obtained at the Iowa Genelogical Library and the Iowa
Historical Library.
�Our Jefferson Co IA Ancestors, Volume 5,� 1982, compiled by Verda Johnson
Baird of Fairfield, IA includes the family group listed below:
William Harrison, (b) 1817, Clarke Co, OH. In 1827, he moved to Cass Co.,
Michigan with parents. In 1834 moved to Louisa Co, IA. Parents listed as
Shadrack Harrison. It states Shadrack is listed on cemetary plat for Walnut
Creek, Friends Church, Jefferson Co., IA. The write up states William
Harrison is affiliated with the Quakers.
The children of William Harrison (above) and Susannah Mace/Macy are Robert,
Shadrack, Emeline, Nancy, Phebe Jane, Benjamin, Joseph, Margaret, William H,
and infant. This information was submitted by Leanne Harrison of
Independence, IA.
There is another Harrison family in Volume 4. Hugh Harrison, (b) 1816, in
Ohio and married Catherine Ramey in Washington C H Fayette Co, Ohio, 1838.
It states he is son of George Harrison and Sarah. I do not know if they fit
into above Harrison family.
I descend from Joseph Harrison and am very interested in resolving his
parentage.
Since some of my Harrison's married Quakers, I suspect this is where we will
find the answers. Does someone have access to Quaker records for Clark Co
OHIO and time to check into this.
Also, I haven't received much Harrison mail this week. I hope I didn't get
unsubscribed.
