Hi All,
I have a Mary E. aged 19 in 1850 , Grant Co., IN census in my William Henry
Harrison's (age 43) household. He was previously maried to Anne Stout but
she does not appear in this census, and was released from memership to
Mississinewau Monthly Meeting in 1849. (Don't know what happened to her).
Older child of Anne Stout Harrison (Ruth Anne 14) is in the household too,
but along with Mary E. there are additionally Sarah S. age 6 and Jesse O. 1
yr. (male). Don't know if Mary E. is a new wife or adopted with sister
Sarah and brother Jesse. The census has her place of birth as Ohio and
Sarah and Jesse as IN.
The 1860 census has William Harrison age 53 with Jesse O 11 yrs, Eliza A. 9
yrs., and Leonyrd A. 7 yrs. BUT Mary does not appear.
Was Mary E. his wife and they had the children and she died before 1860?
Any ideas on this would be greatly appreciated.
