Please believe me when I say I don't want to miss contacts with any
HARRISONs and I hope that closing the list won't do that. If someone who
is not subscribed posts a message to the list and they are not subbed, it
will be forwarded to me. I can then send it on along to the List for you
all to see. I am willing to try this out for a while, but if it gets to be
too much work, I will reopen it to all. Most people believe that serious
Harrison researchers will contact us or subscribe to the list. Many do not
want the risk of receiving junk mail. It is difficult for me to make
everyone happy in this matter and hopefully I have not offended others who
really wanted to keep it open. Remember also that our list is archived at
RootsWeb and at my website - these are open for anyone to search and view.
I can tell you that the majority of the lists on RootsWeb are closed so we
are would be among the minority if we were to remain open. This was mostly
due to our spammers who crashed the server several times with junk mail.
The entire thing with the Flight Attendant was a spam, phoney email address
etc.
If this doesn't work out, we'll reopen it.
