Notes

Mary Frances became a teacher shortly after her marriage to King David Chandler and eventually lived in New Orleans, New York City and Jacksonville, Florida. From the Historical Research Project, Leake County, Mississippi, there is the following information: "Chandler, Walter M., son of K. D. and Mrs. Mary Chandler, once pupil of the famous Golden schoolhouse on the hill where his mother taught us, about two miles west of old Damascus, Mississippi . . . ."
