This is newspaper clipping concerning Letitia Jane's death:
Letitia Jane Hooter was born in Yazoo Co., Miss, Nov 17, 1827. (she was probably born in Jefferson County) She was the daughter of Michael Hooter. She was married twice; first to Matthew Reed (s/b Reid) in 1843. By this union there were five children. The three sons died in early life. The two daughters married and were useful members of the church. The second marriage was to Wm. Martin, in 1871. The nearest living relatives are her grandchildren and an only sister. Sister Martin joined the Methodist Church many years ago. We visited her in her last days, and she gave us assurance that she was prepared for and willing to meet death. She died Jan 21, 1903, and was buried at Mt. Olive Church, near the old home. We commend the mourning ones to the grace of God. C. McDonald (This was probably a clipping from a Methodist Newspaper) (I was told that no stone was ever put by her grave)
