I am currently researching my family tree. My family immigrated from Ireland around 1840's and settled in Glasgow Saltmarket. Then they moved to the Paisley area around 1870's and followed the mining trade to Hamilton around 1885. After a mining disaster, our family appeared to move back to Glasgow Gorbals area around the 1910 period where they are still resident. I am trying to find out whereabouts in Ireland my family originated from. I think it may of been the north of Ireland due to their immigration to Scotland.If there is anyone who can offer ideas on the subject, it would be most appreciated.
