Rather new at this, but it appears I have run into a brick wall with
information handed down. My g grandfather James Harvey Alexander
Harrison b June 1856, b Jefferson Co, TN d 1909-10 fathered 12 kids by
Nancy Jane Britton b 1858 and d 1913 in Stevenson, AL, Children:Mollie
b 1879, Antha Belle b 1882, Thomas Taylor (my grandfather)b 9-18-1883
Jefferson Co, TN d 10-15-1937 Jackson Co, AL , and so on.
No matter what site I get on I cannot get anymore info on any of his
kids. It appears they were from the Jeremiah Harrison, son of Isaiah
Harrison from Smithtown, Long Island, Suffolk NY in the 1600's. Rumor
has it James Harvey Alexander Harrison ran a pitch fork through a person
he was arguing with and killed him and he decided to move his family
further south and moved to Jackson County, AL in the early 1900's.
He was never prosecuted for the murder that we know of. It was also
rumored that Thomas Taylor's father was black or Black Dutch (whatever
that means). The few pictures we have of him shows him looking like a
native american indian if anything. I know this is skimpy info but some
things make so much sense and others none at all. Reading the Harrison
notes and other info on the Harrison Repository has made me more than
ever determined to find out something.
