To all People to whom these presents shall come John Adam & Catherine his wife of Greenwich Township in the County of Berks and State of Pennsylvania sends greeting. Know ye that for and in consideration of the sum of thirty pounds lawful gold or silver money current ... to him in hand well and truly paid by Martin Zettelmyer of the same place, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, hath granted bargained sold aliened enfieffed released assigned transferred and set over by these presents doth grant bargain sell release assign transfer and set over unto the said Martin Zettelmyer his heirs and assigns all his right title claim interest property possession and domain whatsoever of the above assignment or instrument in writing and the house and lot therein described ment mentioned or intended to be with the appurtenances thereunto belonging in any wise appertaining & the reversions & remainders rents issues and profits thereof unto him the said Martin Zettelmyer his Heirs & assigns to the only proper use benefit & behoof of him the said Martin Zettelmyer his heirs & assigns forever. Subject to the yearly ground rents of one Spanish Silver Dollar. In Witness whereof the said John Adam and Catherine his wife hath hereunto set his hand and seal the second day September AD 1802. Recorded on the day of the Sale of the above written Assignment of and from the above named Martin Zettelmyer the sum of thirty pounds specie being in full for the consideration money above mentioned recd for me . . . . . . . Witness present at signing Jacob Kummerer, Jacob Irtung. – Berks Co Ss The 23rd day of September AD 1802. Before me the subscriber one of the Justices came before me John Adam & Catherine his wife acknowledged the above written assignment to be their Act and Deed and desired the same might be recorded as such according to law. The said Catherine being of full age jointly & apart from her husband by me examined the content made known unto her she assents voluntarily consenting. Comments: This deed shows that one Martin Zettelmeyer lived in Greenwich Township, and I suspect that this was Johann Martin. Unfortunately the deeds that were copied did not include the previous page, which presumably contained some description of the property conveyed.
