Sir John Wright of Kelvedon Hall was a member of Henry the VIII's House of Lords. He was a very useful servant to King Henry VIII in his fight with the Pope and became quite wealthy through support from the King.

Sir John Wright of Kelvedon Hall was granted arms on 20 June 1509. He was a Yeoman before 1522 at South Weald, Essex, England.He purchased Kelvedon Hall, the tenancy to a former monastery estate, for £493 6s 8d for from Richard Bolles in 1538 at Kelvedon Hatch, Hundred Of Ongar, Essex, England.2

Will 25 Sept 1551 John Wright left a will dated 25 September 1551 He left a will on 25 September 1551 at Kelvedon Hatch, Essex, England;

"In the Name of God, Amen. 25 Sept 1551 of Kellydon Essex, Yoeman. Beying in bode feble and weak yet of pfect mynde make my will, etc. Soul to God. Body to be buried within the Chancell of Kellydon Church.".2

Burial His estate was probated on 21 November 1551 at Stapleford Abbots, England. Sir John Wright was buried in the chancel of Kellydon Church, Kelvedon Hatch, Essex, England.2
