Josiah Hayden was
the son of Thomas Hayden and Mary
Ball.
Thomas
Hayden was born in Sudbury, MA in 1725, the son of Josiah
Hayden and
Sarah Axtell.
Mary
Ball was the daughter of Daniel Ball
of Watertown and Sybel Patterson. The book, The
Genealogical and Family History of the State of NH, states
that Mary Ball Hayden was a legatee in the will of
her mother, Sybel Ball.

Thomas
Hayden and Mary Ball had the following
children, all born in Sudbury:
Mary
or Molly Hayden, married Silas Parmenter,
died in Leominster, MA
Sally Hayden, married Luke
Newton, died in Marlborough, NH
David Hayden, died in Marlborough, MA
Josiah Hayden, married Mary
Patch, died in Hollis, NH
Bezeleel Hayden, died in Marlborough, MA
Thomas
Hayden died in Sudbury, MA, approximately around 1770.
The only mention I have found of his death was in the Sudbury Town records
which mention the amount the town paid towards his burial.
Where his widow Mary went after his death I do not
know.
Her sons were all placed with relatives.
David (Bonney) and Bezeleel
(Zely) went to live with their Uncle Daniel Hayden
in Marlborugh, MA.
They now lie buried side by side in the Old Common Cemetary.
Josiah went to live with his uncle Samuel
Hayden in Hollis, NH.
I do not yet know if the girls stayed with their mother, or were also
raised by relatives.
Sally Hayden married Luke
Newton in Southborough, MA, and they raised
their family in Marlborough, NH.
Mary (Molly) Hayden married Silas
Parmenter in Sudbury, MA and then they
lived in Leominster, MA.
