1805 Map

One night in the Civil War, a soldier that was a bugler heard another soldier suffering and the bugler wanted to comfort him but was afraid to get out of his place of saftey so he blew the only music he knew and that was the TAPS. The next morning the bugler saw that the soldier he played Taps for was a dead confederate soldier. The bugler was a Union soldier. This was the beginning of the TAPS being played at military funerals as a sign of respect for their comrade.

Franklin Stark was a private in the Union Army and his bayonet and other momentos remain in the family.

Winslow Missouri is no longer there, only it's cemetery remains.

All of Franklin and Lucinda Stark's Children were born in Winslow, and at least eight of Elisha and Missouri Jane's were born there as well.
