Little Hale is a hamlet just South of Great Hale and is part of that parish. The church records for baptisms and so on come under Great Hale.  Parish Registers from Great Hale start in 1538.

The domesday book entry covers both Great and Little Hale  and the word Parva is the Latin form of Little and is used in some entries

Whites Directory 1872 for Little Hale

  1. HALE [Little] in the parish, and 1 mile s. of Great Hale, is a village and township, containing 327 souls and 2329 acres of land.  The Marquis of Bristol is lord of the manor, but the Packe, Dickens, Newton, Godley and other families have estates here.  More than half the township is cultivated fen, extending 3 miles East of the village. Here is a Primitive Methodist chapel.  At the enclosure in 1700, an allotment of about 20 acres was awarded to the poor, and is now let at the rate of 8s a rood to poor families, amounting to £28-8s per annum, which is distributed in coals, except £8 paid towards the maintenance of a new school recently built in the township.  Little Hale sends two inmates to Sleaford Hospital.            Post Office at Mr John Green's.  Letters arrive at 9.30am and are despatched at 4pm via Sleaford
