Descendancy
Victoria Hedley was the eleventh of the twelve children of John Hedley
and Margaret Grierson. Victoria was born March 14, 1845 in
Torbolton Township. She married William Dickson of Pakenham, Ont.
(south of Arnprior). William, of Scottish origin, was born Feb.
2, 1840. The 1881 Census for Fitzroy shows Victoria, 35 and
William, 41 with two children, Robert W., age 3 and Margaret E., age 1.
Victoria’s mother Margaret (Grierson) Hedley, age 73, is also living
with the family:

Victoria (Hedley) Dickson died August 16, 1911 at age 66. Her
husband William Dickson died 11 years later, on Dec. 8, 1922 at age 82.
Both are buried in Arnprior Cemetery, Renfrew County.
Victoria (Hedley) and William Dickson had five children:
1 - Robert W. Dickson was born in
July 24, 1877. He died Jan. 31, 1905 at age 27. His grave
is in
Arnprior Cemetery.
2 - Ethel Margaret Dickson was b. Aug.
22, 1879. She died in 1961.
3 - William Hedley Dickson was b.
Dec. 3, 1882; married Ethel M. Pimlott (1882-1970).
William
died in 1966; Arnprior Cemetery.
4 - John Andrew Dickson was born Oct. 29,
1884.
5 - George Oliver Dickson was born July 7,
1887. He married Evelyn Gordon (1897-1978).
George died April 6,
1960 at age 73; Arnprior Cemetery.
