MARYLAND RESEARCH NEEDED
John and Thomas Helm or Hallam lived in Charles County, Maryland for many years. There is supposed to be a land record showing Leonard Helm also owned land in Charles County in 1725. If anyone has this record, please let me know by contacting me, SUE MARTINSON using this email address: [email protected]. This John and Thomas Helm/Hallams may be the ones from Barbadoes but we don’t have the proof. We should get the wills and administrations of John and Thomas to see if they offer any proof of relation to Leonard. It should be noted that Mabry Helm, the son of Leonard, purchased land in Maryland. What drew him to that area?
William Hallam of Maryland owned Hellam’s Outlook. He shot Cpt. Gordon in 1751 and fled to South Carolina and established his line there. It would be interesting to learn if William was related to John and Thomas Hallam.
